[edit: I'm pointing out this pleasant fact in light of today's shxtty media smears to paint Paul as a racist. I was pissy today, and was happy to learn that Paul is considering a VP that is a person of color. So next time I hear, "Ron Paul is a racist", I can say "you're wrong because he is considering VP candidate that just happens to be of color." And yes, if he chooses a white VP he is still not a racist. I'm not saying he is considering him b/c he is black, I'm not saying its right to pick someone based on race. Williams has some good credentials and proves Paul sees people through ability and not race. I am merely providing evidence that he is not a racist. This is comforting to me b/c I am a minority as well, and we minorities tend to get suspicious of racism.]
Paul has stated publicly he'd want someone like Walter Williams as his VP. Apparently, Walter Williams is black. Williams has endorsed Paul too. So this racism bs is squashed.

I won't go back and see how long ago, but check if you like, a few of us called this.
Who cares what color Williams is? He is an ingenious economist (go to his page, or atlasphere, and read some of his writing) who can explain phenomenon of trade to fellow geniuses, to 4 year olds, and even to registered democrats (ZING!).
OUR candidate is considering running mates based on their qualifications, not their name recognition, gravitas, or any other BS for which VPs are usually chosen.
Williams is also the most popular guest host on Rush Limbaugh; LOTS of 'mainstream' Rs respect this guy for his intellect and honesty.

Help me get in contact with RonPaul supporters who could set up a TAILGATE PARTY for the Dec 30 NFL game between the Vikings and the Broncos.
Some ideas are to hand out hot dogs, brats, whatever to spread the Dr Paul idea. I cannot set this up, I am from Wyoming and don't know the in's and out's of the big city.
Even if you cannot attend the game IF YOU COULD HELP with this idea, I need help getting it off the ground. It will take a bunch of work that I can't pull off without a BUNCH of local knowledge and work.
Just a thought... maybe nation wide?

I don't want a VP for RP that is weak on illegal immigration and an amnesty supporter, so W.E.W. fits the bill for me so far as I can see.

He mentioned Walter Williams long before the media blitz to smear him. He didn't say for VP though but for possible economics or financial or something. He has also mentioned John Stossel as a potential cabinet member. There is a video floating around where he was asked and talks about it.

Walter Williams was filling in for Rush Limbaugh (I know, I'm sorry, but just hold on;) I heard about 2/3 of the show and at the end of it I felt I needed to email Dr Williams
I told him I heard some of the show and I was very pleased by what I heard. I then asked him if he were a Ron Paul Supporter. In about 45 minutes I actually got a response... and I quote:

Williams has been a personal hero of mine for a long time. Funny thing- I read his economic stuff for a long time before I found out he was black. Who cares if he's black? I want WW as VP because he's a genius- not because he's black. I'm sure Ron Paul feels the same. I just want people to love WW because he''s awesome, and the only downside to his being VP is everyone will say "he got a black guy to be VP" not "he got an incredible man and thinker" to be his VP. Oh well, personally I'll take WW in washington any way I can get him!

He would be a fine contender for VP. The down side would be his advanced years -- not a deal breaker, but a legitimate concern -- and his previous support for the Iraq invasion. Has he recanted that one?

Good name ID
Until perhaps the past month or so Walter Williams has had more national name ID than Ron Paul due to his widely syndicated columns and especially his subbing several times a year on the Rush Limbaugh program. He has never taken pains to agree with Rush by the way.

Williams wrote The State Against Blacks in which he shows how government programs keep blacks as second class citizens.
Someone like Williams is needed when Paul tries to attract more leftists because they will believe this whole "selfish" BS, and not understand how Freedom works because it frees us from slavery.

When I met the Pauls
Dr. Paul was surrounded with "us," so a few of us began talking to Mrs. Paul. In addition to being a very impressive and sweet First Lady, she said nice things about Prof. Williams. I think he's the ideal candidate, both because of his intellect and because of the idiots who'd be pissed-off for dimwitted reasons related to the his skin's melanin-content.
