DailyPaul Gets (Another) Server Upgrade - Site Down Tomorrow
Reminder: Ron Paul will be on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday Morning - check local listings for exact time & station.
Announcement: Well, the Daily Paul has outgrown its server space once again. Check out the growth in traffic from last year at this time - zero! Of course, a year ago this site didn't even exist! As of yesterday, the Daily Paul has served up news of the r3VOLution to nearly 2.2 million visitors this month alone. And we've still got 10 days to go, with the site averaging about 140,000 visitors per day.
This is the power of the internet. The above graph no doubt mirrors the exponential growth that the campaign is experiencing. Ron Paul is surging at just the right time, as the other candidates are running out of gas.
Thank you all for your support. Keep up the excellent work!
On the day of the Dec. 16 Tea Party, this site hit 225,000 visitors, but slowed to a near crawl. The same thing happened during Dr. Paul's appearance on Glenn Beck. This growth is clearly not going to stop. In fact, it is likely to start accelerating from here as the old media (OM) starts to pick up the story. I am therefore taking this opportunity - this weekend - to upgrade the Daily Paul's server once again. This site started out on a little shared server, then moved to a virtual private server (VPS), then to its own dedicated server, and now is getting a super beefy Intel Xeon Quad Core 1.6Ghz machine (sounds impressive, doesn't it?).
This should help speed things dramatically and be able to handle the high traffic days that we know are coming as the primary season heats up, and Dr. Paul moves closer to securing the GOP nomination!
So, to make a long story short, the site will be down for a portion of the day tomorrow as the upgrade is completed. So don't worry, and don't despair - the Daily Paul will be back faster than ever to serve Dr. Paul and the community better!
Finally, thank you all for your incredible support of Dr. Ron Paul. His surging momentum could never happen without you, the unsung tens of thousands of you who are out there every day promoting Dr. Paul's message of freedom, peace and hope. Thank you all.

How I came to Dailypaul.com
The reason I found Michael's site was because youtube inexplicably withdrew its catagories for a week earlier this year. That meant that the News & Politics category only had videos that were chosen by "editors" and suprise, suprise there were no Ron Paul videos on this youtube category, whereas a week earlier the front page was almost exclusively filled with Ron Paul videos. Anyway I decided to look around and found my salvation in this site.
It is an irony that many people probably migrated to this site at that time for the same reason cited above, i.e. censorship of the good Doctor Paul.

Come on! don't tease us like that. In order for us to estimate how many votes we might be getting we need to know how many *unique* visitors month the site is getting. Even better would be the number of unique visitors who visit the site more than once. If someone keeps coming back, they're a likely voter. You could even break it down by state. Open your server logs to ronpaulgraphs!

A million times for this great site. I don't know what we'd do without it as it seems to be our little "fix" everyday. When it's down I feel so lost as it keeps me posted on just about everything. I too, was worrying about our writing in about Meet the Press tomorrow morning but I'm sure whatever you do will be fine. It's just that we all care and support Dr. Ron Paul and his supporters are growing very rapidly no matter what the MSM says. memory, processor(s), space taken by database, hits (daily/monthly), and whether load was easily sustained or not?
This would just give an idea of how much server power is needed to host a site of a given size in Drupal. Thanks a lot.

Michael, thank you so much for providing this town hall for us to gather and discuss our favorite candidate. And Lawrence, we are already so grateful for the USA Today ad.. my gosh, a Times ad too! Thank you thousands of times over for the thousands of dollars you've spent to do the job the major media is hesitant to do. I'm beginning to suspect that they are just confused and afraid to report on a candidate that does not fit their existing slick-talking, deceitful politician paradigm which they know how to approach. The local and regional news organizations have been doing a much more courageous job of covering all of the candidates, not just a few. Hopefully, the big players will develop a bit more courage in the next couple of weeks.
