We've got to take this r3VOLution further than the Presidency!...
... Something Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions said during the hearings on the FISA vote today:
"Some people in this chamber love the Constitution more than they love the safety of this nation.
We should all send President Bush a letter thanking him for protecting us."
These incumbents from all of our states keep wining year after year because the honest man doesn't have the money to run. We The People need to not only fund Dr. Paul, but fund the replacement of all public servants who don't have our best interests at heart!
Ideas????

Stay focused
on Ron Paul for now. If the congress and senate do not support Ron Paul when he is president, we will be able to focus on getting rid of all of the politicians that will be up for election in 2010. This campaign for Ron Paul has too much momentum to change the focus now. We will have to write letters to all of our representatives that they need to work with Ron Paul when he is president or we will do to them what we have done to all of the current politicians who are running for president - they will not get voted back in to office. When Ron Paul becomes President I hope the message will be clear and will change some minds of the present people who are in office. If this doesn't change their thinking, they will have to leave office gracefully or be voted out. KEEP THE FOCUS ON RON PAUL!!!!
Walk and Chew Gum
Apsolutely keep our eye on the ball, no doubt. It was also good to find out about Liberty Congress, I had never seen it before.
I needed the info on Stephen McDuffie in Colorado, he's my district and I hadn't heard of him before. He'll be on my ballot.
I live Ron Paul right now, trust me.
Agreed
I think we need to have a freedom-based PAC already in place to go into action as soon as RP wins.
It would need some kind of transparent, on-line Board of Directors that would openly discuss and decide how to get the biggest bang for the buck. It would need to coordinate with a network of meetup groups to put boots on the ground.
I see it evaluating US Congressional races and then throwing everything at just a few. The choice of which races to get involved in could be based on an "anti-freedom" rating of the candidates (based on past record and current willingness to support the Paul Administration reforms), the resources and support of the target candidate, and the strength of the pro-freedom opponent available.
By picking a few races and bringing nationwide resources to bear, we could have enormous clout. If we were careful about choosing our battles (like any wise general) we could develop a fearsome reputation among Congresscritters so just the knowledge that we are watching would straighten out many of them.
I believe that if the PAC were set up in a way that the online community trusted it and was happy with the decision-making process, an organization like this could be VERY effective in advancing the revolution.
Fabulous Idea
Here's a summary of the links suggested:
http://LibertyCongress.or...
http://VoteSmart.org
http://nhasks.org
http://ElectionPrediction...
Maybe we could get all these sites linked onto one main site??
I don't want Ron Paul to be all by himself in DC again... Or at least in the minority, anyways. I think supporting whoever supports the constitution (regardless of party) and has a record of it, rocks. Hopefully, there are some more websites that already exist to help with that???
It’s the system that we have that exposes the lies.
I think it’s in the way we have the campaign set up that is the key to changing the world. This is like a tactic in battle. Like the first American patriots using guerrilla warfare against the British,
The key components are good interactive main website that tracks real time fundraising.
A forum like this where people can go and exchange ideas and support each other.
Meet up groups to organize the on the ground campaign.
This can only work with a person running that has good ideas and is honest like Dr Paul. But I think that the key is that this system of campaign does not rely on the media for feedback, and therefore can't be controlled.
good point
I agree.
Keep your eye on the ball
we are here to put Ron Paul in the White House. Once that is achieved, the sky is the limit, but until then it should be all about Dr Paul.
votesmart.org and nhasks.org
Votesmart.org is a good place to find out where the candidates stand on the issues and/or see their voting records. Ron Paul is the only republican candidate to complete the nhasks.org questionaire for 2008 candidates. Please encourage rp to also complete votesmart's political courage test to help inquiring voters. These are excellent sites to promote for educating 2008 voters.
LibertyCongress.org
Please visit http://LibertyCongress.or... and the other websites that track freedom oriented candidates. There will be several hundred good candidates and incumbents that we can support in 2008 for state and federal legislatures. We need to make sure that a few win office in this election cycle and then make sure that several thousand freedom candidates run in 2010.
We cannot limit our thinking to candidates from just one party at this time nor anytime in the very near future. The party system is to fouled up just now. Perhaps in time that will change, but for now we all need to do our best to track the available candidates and support the right ones.
I guess we need a conveyor belt system... :)
First... we need a website to help identify candidates to throw our support behind. A website that can give us a national perspective (the big picture, I guess).
Then... if any of the candidates 'forget' the constitution... we send their name off to...
www.Obeytheconstitution.c...
Then... if that doesn't work...
We send their name off to ....
www.DownsizeDC.org
Then I guess, we repeat as necessary!! :)
Colorado Needs New Senator- & Blackwater Ad in Local Paper
Allard is stepping down. Tancredo has hinted at the seat. If anything, Tancredo will fight for secured borders. He gave his support to Romney.
I phone his office and told him I'd support him but that I had Ron Paul banners all over the awning of the restaurant, it was his choice.
I told the clerk and recorder yesterday that if I have to, I'll dye my roots, buy a new suit, and run for Senator myself. I made it very clear in her office that I was "P'O'd" big time at what has been going on.
Blackwater has an ad in our local paper this week to hire "Custom Security Agents". my skin crawled.
I've made an appointment to visit with our Sheriff right after the holidays to see where he stands on the issues, the Constitution, the powers of the Executive Branch, etc. I suggest all of you do the same.
The sheriff has all power in the county still....the sheriff can arrest the Chief of Police. I want to ask him how much of his powers Bush has taken from him.
Keep an eye everyone, Blackwater may be in your backyard too.
Today I requested a petition packet to run for
delegate to the convention But not before I accidentally requested one to run for President of the US!
So if anyone in PA wants to sign my petition, let me know. ;)
Well all it takes is for us
Well all it takes is for us to replace Congress with true citizen statesmen and women. It might take a new energized party or simply retaking the Republican party back from the Neo-Cons. The Party's focus needs to be first and foremost Liberty to all based on adherence to the Constitution. All the other issues that are aimed at dividing us (race, religion, abortion, sex etc. etc) needs to be left at the door. Constitution first! America first! United we stand as individuals!
Great idea
As Ron Paul says, the changes we want can't happen if just he is elected, it will take a congress and senate to create the legislation for him to sign. But I think this is a revolution for the message more than just Ron Paul. His humble and low-key presentation don't over shadow the message, but his integrity and consistent beliefs are what propels the message out of "that's crazy, no one would want that" into "well he certainly practices what he preaches, lets give the message another look."
And that message is the country is "We the people" not we the special interests, or we this PAC or lobby or we the Fortune 500. With Dr. Paul he has given us a way to behave in office; which is stick up for your beliefs, read the legislation and if it doesn't pass a constitutional check then change it or vote no. Even if it is politically expedient to compromise your integrity this vote next time you will give in until there is nothing left of your integrity like Romney or Rudy.
What his campaign has done more than anything else has exposed the "man behind the curtain", meaning the MSM. The media has so manipulated and misrepresented who we are as a group, to the point of Glen Beck calling people wanting a return to the rule of law and follow the constitution, terrorists. The corporations really are running things in Washington DC and if we don't act now we may never get the chance again.
On mistake Regan made was the gutting of the Sherman Act which was a check on the size and power of corporations; ideally they would behave in the best interests of the people, in reality all you have to do is look at AT&T getting back together and first thing they proposed was a way to control the Internet.
Exactly
"but his integrity and consistent beliefs are what propels the message out of "that's crazy, no one would want that" into "well he certainly practices what he preaches, lets give the message another look."
I have actually seen this happen with my own father. Several months ago he said "He's a wacko, there no way he'll ever get elected. Your wasting your vote on him." Just the other day he said "No, he makes a lot of sense. Washington IS out of control and something really needs to be done about it."
Once people get to see the "real" Ron Paul. They can see that his ideas are not unreasonable at all but rather the most reasonable course of action to take given the current circumstances. The problem is most people have no idea what the current circumstances even are. Nor do many of them even care.
I agree
the Revolution should continue after Ron Paul. At the next election after 2008 we need to organize efforts to revamp the Congress also.
On a side note...
As a Alabama citizen I am embarrassed by what Jeff Sessions said. Both our senators are dumb and I would love to see them go.
As another Alabama citizen of the Republic
I say, "Let's get a Ron Paul Republican (or any other party) on the ballot and get him into the senate."
Well... as an Alabama citizen...
... I tend to agree with your assesment of our Senators. :) However, I think there are plenty of crooked incumbents that could be voted out this election. Why wait until the next one?

Yeah... Real Patriots are always gramatically correct???
... I don't care if you didn't finish the 6th grade, if you are supporting Dr. Paul and you are for Liberty and Freedom, you can spell shit wrong all day and I still Love you! Viva La r3VOLution!!
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine
No worries :)
Thanks for sticking up for me! :) I didn't get too bothered... I'm on my third glass of wine... so not paying too much attention to the spelling and grammar!! Besides... it is not like this in an assignment I have to turn in for grading!! :) I'm just soaking up the sublime ideas and comments running rampant on this site!
Never stop learning I always say..
I was replying to this other supporter, didn't know you needed some attention. So much for trying to help a person out.
"Live Free or Die"
M.
it's really not about me... it's about Dr. Paul...
... and what we can do to help him out. It's also about what can WE all do to help ourselves out? I'm intelligent enough to realize that you weren't replying to me, without you saying so. If you really want to "help a person out", why don't you drop the grammer policing and start discussing the real problems. Thanks for your help.

I'll take it under advisement...
Now why don't you let me decide what I will do to help people out and go about your merry way. Live and let live, sound good, great, bah bye.
If you don't think the dumbing down of America is a problem that gets fixed one person at a time then let's schedule an appoitment because you should probably be my next client.

I say
Vote out the incumbant in every election, no matter what. That would take NO money, and get all new faces in there. Just vote against the incumbant, period.
Mass movement to vote out the incumbant in EVERY election, then after a couple years, President Paul can make a list for us of which ones to keep.
Voting out incumbants
I agree. We'll just vote for Ron Paul supporters and politicians who respect the rule of law!
There is a problem with that
Most of the time no one runs against the incumbant! U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander is running unopposed in 2008. I don't think I can take another 6 years of him.
I know there are some rich Ron Paul supporters out there. Why don't you run against someone like Lamar Alexander? Don't you care enough about your freedom to do it? It just takes one U.S. Senator to stop a monster like S. 1959. Even though you have no political experience we will all help you win!
Yes... the r3VOLution will help... count on it from now on!
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine
Ooooh!
If you think Ron Paul scares the establishment... this conversation will freak them out!!! :)
Well...
... that might sound good on the surface, but we don't really want to get in the habit of a president telling us who to vote for... right? We really just need a site/clearinghouse if you will, letting us, The People, know the scoop on incumbents vs. those running against them, so we can get behind the ones who are for essentially what Dr. Paul stands for... Liberty... Freedom.... etc...

That describes exactly what is needed.

i'd like to see.............

There is life at the end of the tunnel my friends!
That's what I'm talking about...
... how do we, as a r3VOLution, know who to through our weight behind in the various state and local elections?

Website-- we need a website
Who makes all the cool websites??!!
I don't know.... surely somebody could mash this up!

need domain and theme ideas...
I can do a website and domain registration stuff but need ideas for domain name and theme ideas. And if there are any other web professionals who want to chip in...speak up. We need some creative ideas to make this site effective!
politicians
gleidy
Virtually every politician in any significant office is bought and paid for. Ron Paul is the only one I've ever heard of who isn't part of the club. We need to get rid of all of them and start fresh.
There are a few good people,
There are a few good people, but only a few. Listen to people who Ron Paul says he likes, those are people to keep in there.
As much as I hate to admit it, I tend to agree.
If we instituted an initial policy of unseating the incumbent, we would at least send a message similar to what we did during the last election when we turned over the House and Senate to the Democrats in order to at least get some oversite going on in Washington. Unfortunately for us, we didn't realize at the time that the NeoCons and the NeoLibs are two sides of the same coin... and so we got nothing for our efforts. This has to change!
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine
It has to be done.
It can totally be done.
We obviously can't fund 300
We obviously can't fund 300 replacements. No matter if Paul wins or not we need to use our network to fund at least one good libertarian candidate per year, preferably we use some voting system to choose the seat we will fight over. Giving preference of course to seats that are run by corrupt legislatures who are a "shoe in" to win their next term.
I agree, but...
... we could fund quite a few. These Senate and House seats don't cost as much as a Presidential Campaign. Also, some honest Patriot looking to unseat a corrupt Senator or Congressman might not need financial help, maybe only help at the polls. :) We just need some method of sorting the wheat from the chaffe, so to speak.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine
Opps
I meant to say one per state, 50 is a reasonable goal the first time. 300 would then be EASY the following election if everything turns out right.
I have a hunch we could fund them all.
Looking at the graphs today and reading the USA Daily article put the momentum of this movement into perspective. The movement is get bigger exponentially... there will be A LOT of help. No worries.
You may be right, at least I hope so...
... we still need to come up with a way to track elections in every state, ideally right down to the local level, in order to effectively take our country back from those who have been at this game much longer than we have.
"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -Thomas Paine
You're correct...
A tracking system (website??) is exactly what is needed. I saw somewhere, someone had under their name... that they were a 'Ron Paul Republican'! I thought that was so cool.
tracking and approximation
http://www.electionpredic...
Perhaps something similar to what the above organisation provides, geared more toward promoting liberty awakened candidates? It might be useful to provide a forum for people of each district to weigh in and communicate with each other, aside from the mechanism meetup.com provides.
As you can see, electionprediction.org has a high percentage of accuracy in their projections and I'd like to know how they maintain that consistency.
Perhaps a prediction method for the congressional house system could be established as this group has done for parliamentary elections.
Peace...
We need to focus on getting
We need to focus on getting him the nomination first, then in that time to the election is when we can start researching local candidates to start voting in as replacements.
But, in the mean time, keep your state representatives in check. I suggest writing them a letter to get them to vote against the FISA bill.
just a thought....
all 435 seats in the house and 34 seats in the senate will be up for re-election next november
