Many states, in an effort to shut out Ron Paul are now closing their primaries.

Hey guys,

Dont mean to cause a panic here, as I'm sure most of you are already registered republicans. But now some states are closing their primaries early and are even excluding registered independents. This is ofcourse their way of preventing RP supporters from voting in the primaries...This is an older article (october 3, 2007) but still good to know

***That means that only Republicans can vote in the Presidential primaries for a Republican candidate. Many states are doing this quickly and quietly and giving people very little time to learn about the new rules. For example, New Hampshire decided only a week ago that you will now have to change your party affiliation by October 12, 2007 or it will be too late to do so. New Hampshire also has a closed primary and only Republicans and possibly Independents will be allowed to vote for Ron Paul.

In New York, you must be registered as a Republican or you cannot vote for Ron Paul and again, you must make this decision by October 12, 2007 or it will be too late. In New York, however, Independents cannot vote for Ron Paul. Same with New Jersey and many states around the nation. I hesitate to give you a link to a site that has correct information about voting in all 50 states because I have yet to find one that does not have an error and besides, this information is changing daily, as Ron Paul gains momentum. The people in power are doing their best to shut out the multitude of voices that want to vote for Ron Paul. If you are a Ron Paul supporter, or even thinking about becoming a Ron Paul supporter, please become a registered Republican immediately so that no matter what your state does to change the rules out from under you, you will still be allowed to vote for this great man.

Yep I'm in NC and its a CLOSED

PRIMARY here. I changed my party affiliation the minute I was sold on Dr. Paul for President.

After Iowa

Look for this to happen very quickly all around the country.

The only way the neo conservative wing of the party will be able to explain Dr Pauls good showing in Iowa is that all his supporters are turncoat democrats.

They will then shut down all of the open primaries very quickly. I think in some states they will try to push through "backdated" or "effective immediately" deadlines. They may or may not get away with it but I think that to them this will seem like a better option then losing "their" party.

Change your registration today!

How can New Hampshire decide

How can New Hampshire decide a week ago to set the deadline to two months ago?

The article is from Oct. 3

It's quoting an older article.

American democracy sucks balls

How the hell can they do this. Im a big Ron Paul supporter but Im from europe. Here you can be affiliated in any party and vote for anyone and it doesnt matter to which party that person is affiliated. There is no way you can be excluded from voting. Everyone over 18 receives a letter onto their home where it says where and when they can cast their vote. Plus only paper ballots are allowed.

You guys need to change this fast because your democracy is in its dieing throws.

In theory, it's justified

It's supposedly to keep people from purposely voting for a candidate from another party who can't win just so one of the candidates from their party will win more easily. If this were a significant phenomenon, though, it would have been apparent in the differences between open and closed primary voting histories, though, and I don't believe that it is.

This is why...

I dedicate myself too this campaign all day, everyday, too the point my husband is annoyed with me. My friends are perplexed, and family confused...

Idon'tgiveacrap.

This is too important to convince otherwise!
