Online Poll Puts Ron Paul Only at 24%

http://www.presidentpolls...

You're probably tired of hearing about low poll numbers are for Ron Paul as much as I am.

Yesterday was Christmas, normally and unpolitical, family event. To my surprise the Ron Paul sticker on the back of my car caused some commotion among my grandfather-in-law and step-grandmother-in-law. My grandfather likes my car and wanted to shake my hand because of the bumpersticker I had on the back of it "Ron Paul for President Hope for America". The funny thing is this set of grandparents is normally Democratic in their political views. Yesterday they said things like, "Ron Paul's the only guy out there making sense" or other such cliches. Later in the evening my aunt begins to tell me about two guys at UPS (thanks for Representing guys) that talk about Ron Paul all the time. One of them got a hold of her right after the Tea Party to tell my aunt the awesome news of $6 million in 1 day!!

Interestingly enough, NO OTHER CANDIDATE CAME UP IN ANY CONVERSATION, at all!!

So, sure, I encourage you to get involved in the poll above. But then I encourage you to get out and do your own polling.

Wave signs over a highway - When I did this in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with some other supporters we had nearly 10% and sometimes up to 20% of cars honking and waving. (That's a 4 second reaction time in order to see the sign, go for the horn, or wave your hand.)

Talk to cashiers, waiters/waitresses, bank people, and others. These polling numbers would be fun to see.

Comment below with the polls you have done yourself! Oh, yeah, and get Ron Paul up to 50% on the poll above :)

Keep up the Great work!

We're almost at the Primary home stretch.

Now at 32% - double of Obama in second place

We can't win against the main media so we have to beat them online. These polls may not have much meaning but we need to keep fighting the fights we can win.

I think we get too tactical in this forum sometimes. The reality is that most of the people we need to convince to vote for Paul have either never heard of him or don't care.

We need to make the noise we can where we can. But - and this is a big but - we need to be as normal and mainstream as possible. Don't scare good potential RP supporters away!

Remember to canvass

Help your local campaign people, if we do not canvass, we do not win. Go out and tell your neighbors who Ron Paul is..

I'm in.

Why I am ignoring all online polls

Many of us have realized the futility of voting in online polls and have decided on a different strategy.

For most of the year, RP won almost every online poll posted anywhere on the net. And it brought him tons of media attention and respect, right? No?

Well, we know that RP's support is real, not just online. We need to do well in the polls that really count. And if we lay a little low right now, well it may help us to have the element of surprise in the primaries. Why is this important? Well, it is highly unlikely that Dr. Paul will get a 50% majority vote, but it is not unlikely at all that he gets 20-30%. We need the other candidates to all stay in and keep beating each other up as long as possible so that they can split up the pro-war republicans. If they catch on too quickly and coalesce around 1 candidate, it makes it much more difficult to win the GOP nomination. Fortunately, the egomania of the other candidates will probably keep them from dropping out in reasonable enough time to make a difference, but for right now, I and many others are just ignoring online polls.

31 % now - almost 9.000 votes

I am little disappointed that we can "only" get 9.000 people to vote. Why is that?

Funny story

I had been working on one of my best friends for MONTHS now, who just joined us two weeks ago. The weekend of his "conversion" he was at a restaurant with his wife, kids and other family after church. When he brought up Ron Paul to the other husband/dad at the table, he said their waiter who was filling glasses jumped in with "We're supporting Ron here! Do you know about his bill to help make tips tax free?!"

This was in Virginia, by the way.

He's catching on, I'm telling 'ya...:-)

Now at 30% - keep voting

If you haven't already done so. We need to help the campaign by talking to friends and people we meet and we need to help our meetup groups. THEN if we have more time, vote on polls and comment on articles on the web. It all helps a little.

WAKE UP

I mention R.P.'s name every chance I get and still, I get asked "who's Ron Paul",

DON"T GO TO SLEEP!!!!!!

There's still lot's of work to be done.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THE MAN AND .....AND THE MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now at 28%

This is great - can we do even better? Please vote if you haven't already done so.

Yes, it is cool. I am hearing about RP from new sources.

I am beginning to hear about Ron Paul support from random and un-expected sources such as my friend's 72 year old Republican father, my long lost Aunt... I think we may be hearing less questions asking "who is Ron Paul?".

"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Online Poll is Inclusive of Both Parties

He's at 25% now, but that poll is inclusive of all candidates, Democrat and Republican. Among the Republicans, Paul is at about 45% of the online poll. And if John Zogby is right in his opinion that Ron Paul is going to surprise people by doing better in Iowa than the polls reflect, it's looking pretty good all around.
