Anyone listen to the fill-in guy on/for Rush today?
I was on my way to the doctors, and just heard a caller saying" I want to vote this way to keep all my money, not give it to the govt", and the guy(form Washington State, on radio 14 years..did not catch his name) said something like " I'm for the R3volution, witht he exception of getting rid of taxes... we'll be hit with 30% national sales taxes, (vs IRS?) instead"...then the caller said" I'll still get to keep more of my money"(soemthing like this) and they went to commercial, and I was at my destination, and heard no more about if they were talking(sure sounded like it) Ron Paul.
PS: If I were the caller, I would have said" 30% taxes beats 44-48 % I pay right now!" Still more money in my pockets every payday.
Anyone else hear this?

Revolution
Huckaberry has stolen the idea of "revolution" for his campaign. He is advocating a national sales tax. They were most likely talking of his fake revolution. Keep up the hope although they will most likely not ever talk about Paul's views on the issues on MSM controled channels.
I had a chance to listen Rush on Monday and he was laying
into both Huckabee and McCain pretty good on a number of issues; taxes, illegal immigration, etc. Didn't hear Dr. Paul mentioned (I only heard a few minutes) but it did sound like some pretty valid arguments against Huckabee and McCain.
Rush makes several Million a Year
Rush Belongs to ClearChannel
ClearChannel belongs to Bain Capital
Mitt Romney is the co-founder of Bain Capital.
You do the math...
I doubt you're gonna hear much of anything positive about Ron Paul on Rush.
Fox, CNN, NBC, ClearChannel... all one big propaganda machine. It's just Pravda with better looking women.
I listened to Jason Lewis
I listened to Jason Lewis today, and I thought the first segment of the third hour was fantastic. I want to find a download for the audio and put it on YouTube, or at least save it for myself. Lewis was absolutely brilliant in that segment.
I did hear his earlier comment about Ron Paul's plans to abolish the IRS as "Utopian," but if you take his statement literally, he is correct. That is the Utopian ideal. He seemed to think it was impossible, but that is his opinion and he is entitled to it.
I believe that almost any Ron Paul supporter who heard the segment I'm talking about would love it. He wasn't talking about Paul, but just government in general, particularly the pitfalls of the economic left, as he sees them. He also made some really great arguments in favor of federalism and the intent of the founders, as atvdude said, below.
If anyone finds a download for that, please share!
Got it!
I got a copy of this audio if anyone's interested. This is the first segment of the third hour of Jason Lewis sitting in for Rush Limbaugh on January 8th.
He touches on several issues including global warming and why it is that the left is pushing so hard for us to make changes to combat it; why global government is so dangerous and why the federation of states as designed by the Founders is so great, etc.
I've uploaded it to a couple different sites for redundancy:
http://zshare.net/audio/7...
http://supload.com/listen...
It is 12 minutes. Enjoy!

Liberty for Dummies
I heard it..
He SOUNDED just like Dr. Paul. and he was RIGHT ABOUT FEDERALISM!!
And Right about Huckathief and Mccain and GLOBAL WARMING
But WHY WHY oh WHY????? does he not SAY Dr. PAUL IS THE ONLY ONE THAT TALKS ABOUT THIS??
I have no idea.. other than he does not BELIEVE what he says
He is a fill in
Its not his show it's Rush's show. Hes not going to turn the show into an ad for one candidate or another. His local show he is very fair to Dr. Paul although he disagrees with his foreign policy. Lewis has been bashing Fox locally recently for excluding Dr. Paul from the debate.
Lewis did an interview with Dr. Paul on his show in MN in august. It is on youtube http://www.youtube.com/wa...
His local show podcasts are archived at http://www.ktlkfm.com/cc-...
A lot of his shows, especially the times he talks about economics are very informative.
... so does Mark Levin...
.... and then they trash Dr. Paul... go figure... Lewis is no Ron Paul... just another talker with no real substance... Mark Levin was trashing Huckabee and McCain last night... I went to his website and thought I'll see if he mentions anything about the Fox debate and the omission of Paul... he stuck it to McCain and Huckabee... of course he also says Paul is a circus act, but that's because he dotes on Israel (and I don't mind about that), but that means he wants our military to wipe out the Islamists, which would solve a lot of problems for Israel... it just doesn't work that way Mark... but he can't think any further than his hatred for the Arabs and his love for Israel... the latter I understand, the former is centuries old...
why are you listening to
why are you listening to rush limbag anyway?/
Arabian Proverb
"Keep your friends close, hold your enemies closer."
Rush Limbaugh only serves to perpetuate the "conquer and divide" strategy that big government that's up to no good depends on.
He's like a long playing soap opera. You can skip out on many episodes, then tune in and not miss much.
But keeping informed of the propaganda is wise. Disgusting, but wise.
Funny that you should mention it..
My response in an e-mail to Jason Lewis:
I was on the road and came across Jason's show today. I'd like to correct an error, which could have been due to either a lack of understanding or malicious intent. If the latter, Mr. Lewis should examine his character and conscience, because fairness is a cherished American value. Also, if he fails to tell the whole truth, it's a half-truth, which is a kinder way of saying it's a lie.
According to Mr. Lewis, Dr. Paul is a dreamer to suggest he can get rid of the IRS. That's the half-truth. The smirk that followed was a psychological reaction to the half-truth, to cover it up and make it less obvious, as if an explanation was not required.
Now for the whole truth: Dr. Paul claims that if we cut the size of government, we can get rid of the IRS. This might mean that States would have to raise their taxes, but Dr. Paul is talking about taxes at the Federal level. Dr. Paul points out that we spend a trillion dollars a year to support our world empire. We have 700 bases in 130 countries. Mr. Lewis must tell us why it is more important for us to pay a huge part of our taxes to support a military empire abroad than to take care of some urgent business at home. Condi Rice is dishing out $63 billions to Arab nations for military defense. Pakistan gets $10 billion and pretty soon it adds up to a trillion dollars. More correctly, we are borrowing the money to sustain this empire from the Chinese. Annual interest payments on government debt run at $500 billion, about half of what we collect from taxpayers. Mr. Lewis is worried about how we tinker with the tax system. Dr. Paul is concerned about how government spends the money, once we give it to them.
Mr. Lewis is confused. The one minute he rails against taxes. The next minute he dismisses the only Congressman with a 100% voting record when it comes to taxes - the Taxpayers Best Friend.
At the Federal level Dr. Paul wants to get rid of the Dept. of Education, Commerce, Energy, slash the size of the CIA, and a number of other agencies which grow like crabgrass. Mr. Lewis' anti-tax rant is pure posturing, unless he can identify places where we can cut the size of government. Bush expanded the size of government significantly with No Child Left Behind and prescription drug benefit plans. Bush's pre-9/11 plan to effect regime change in Iraq so that Halliburton and its ilk could expand their foreign businesses ventures will add $2.3 trillion to the national debt. If you want people like Bush to run this country, you better pay taxes and a lot more than you are currently paying. This morning's news: tax receipts are down 5% and expenditures are up 9%.
The next time Mr. Lewis mentions Dr. Paul's tax policy please give as the whole truth. The policy is predicated on cutting the size of government. The public who owns the airwaves deserves to hear the whole truth. If you can't give it to us, there are jobs going a begging at Fedex and UPS.
might of been talking about Huckabee
Huckabee "promised to cancel the income tax" but promised to replace it with other taxes. Only Ron Paul promised to cancel taxes and NOT replace them with anything else.
I pay state local Fed and a 7% sales tax
Give me Liberty or Give me death
yup
i listened to him talking about the economy. it was amazing. talking about the irresponsable printing of money, inflation, recession, spending, taxes, social programs vs. capitalism and free markets. then he said no one running is talking about these issues. i turned off the radio.
Didn't hear that, but I got on
and spoke with him about monetary issues, inflation, subsidies etc... it went ok, but I wasn't able to discuss the flat tax issue... I like the flat tax... really flat 0%.
If you heard I did get to drop a RonPaul mini-bomb on air... how did it sound?
wants are unlimited, means are scarce...
oh man i got off a little
oh man i got off a little after he introduced you. im bummed. but what i heard of you was really good. sounded well informed. did he talk any the good Doc.?
No...
Not even lip service but I used Dr Paul as the finish to a long statement about inflation and the like. He agreed with everything is said up to that point and all he said was "Yeah,..." and went on his rant... and that is all.
wants are unlimited, means are scarce...
Sales Tax better than Income Tax anyday
I would rather have a flat fee tax more than anything.
However a sales tax is less costly to collect the money and less hours and wasted production of citizens time and money.
Less intrusive as well.
flat tax no good. NO
flat tax no good. NO decductions. Poor people who would not pay income tax would pay flat tax unless carried a CARD saying they did not have to. It would NOT be prohibited by the constitution and would be horrible.
Make sure you read the book before commenting on it
Where did you come up with this CARD thing? Before commenting on this Fair Tax, it should be a requirement to actually read the book or the actual proposed bill or at least read the information on their website.
There is not CARD. There are no deductions. The one BIG thing that so many keep overlooking is the PREBATE. Here's what I pulled from the Fair Tax site.
http://www.fairtax.org/si...
How does the prebate work?
All valid Social Security cardholders who are U.S. residents receive a monthly prebate equivalent to the FairTax paid on essential goods and services, also known as the poverty level expenditures. The prebate is paid in advance, in equal installments each month. The size of the prebate is determined by the Department of Health & Human Services’ poverty level guideline multiplied by the tax rate. This is a well-accepted, long-used poverty-level calculation that includes food, clothing, shelter, transportation, medical care, etc. See chart in Figure 1 below.
Let's all take the time to actually read what this Fair Tax is before we spread false information about it. It's just not that difficult to find the information.
The host, Jason Lewis......
http://www.ktlkfm.com/pag...
talks like a patriot, but it's just neo-con talk....All talk.....
Agrees with Ron Paul on everything, but the war on civil liberties for false security.
It was Jason Lewis
and he is from Minnesota. I listened to his show today and would have to conclude that he is a closet Ron Paul supporter. He mentioned Revolution and Constitution quite often. He even mentioned Ron Paul's name a couple of times. I got the feeling that he was trying to give the listeners some of Ron Paul's buzz words while still keeping his job!
Was it Walter Williams?
I know he used to fill in for Rush from time to time. He's very libertarian and would definitely be a good ally to have in our corner.
A little
A caller was talking about huckabutt and the [un]fair tax. The Talking head said he liked the income tax.
what I heard was inane.
But i don't really listen anymore to that junk.
Watch freedomtofascism.com
A 30% tax will destroy the
A 30% tax will destroy the poor. Almost all taxes are evil.
Not true
"Almost"?
I beg to differ, but it's not that "almost" all taxes are evil. You nearly got it right until you hedged.
ALL taxes are evil.

Professor Bernardo de la Paz

That is not necessarily a Constitutional view:
"direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers"
Direct/Apportioned and Indirect/Unapportioned are acceptable taxes levied through our representatives. The key is having a voice/vote of the direct amount per person - which right now is unapportioned based on your income.
that's not true
That really isn't true. The "fair tax" gives everyone a check for what the "poverty level" family has to spend on food, etc. That way someone truly in poverty shouldn't be paying any net taxes.
It's not fair, or necessary to over tax the wealthy.
YES!
He was deffinately pushing Ron Paul's whole campaign (with a difference or 2 about an Ammendment to the Constitution for birthright of illeagals/which he claimed probably was not needed), without mentioning Ron Paul's name on air.
Did you hear the african american say that he had changed from a D to a R to vote for a "certain un-named candadate" ??? i wonder who that was he was talking about....hmmmmm.........it was a good show from what i heard...
Thanks for filling in the blanks
It thought it sounded like he was talking about Ron Paul... I just thought I missed it. He did mention being a fan of the R3volution! That's an obvious tag line, I think.
Lewis
I'm from MN and I listen to his show every day. Hes an economic libertarian but disagrees with Paul on foreign policy. Hes more of a Thompson supporter and he pushes Romney although originally he didn't. He gives Paul lip service on his show quite a bit and blasts the media as being unfair to both him and Thompson. Hes much more of a Paul supporter though than McCain, Huckabee and Rudy.
His Rush's shows are pretty tame although he brings out the same facts that he uses on his local show. His local show he is a Shark and routinely goes after our Republican governor as being a pro life liberal, and if you call in and have an opposing point of view, you best have your ducks in a row if you are going to get into that box. He'll beat you down with facts and make you look stupid since he'll have points supported with facts that most people can't counter. Something he refrains from more when he fills in for Rush. His daily shows are podcasted on the station website at ktlkfm.com
