Wolf Blitzer and CNN Deserve Our Respect

...for giving Ron Paul the forum from which to deliver the CORRECT answer to, "How do we handle the situation in Pakistan?" The answer, of course, is that we've screwed things up there enough already and it's time for us to back off.

Ron Paul FTW

Best MSM interview yet. Ron Paul kicked the llama's ass.

Ron Paul Hits Home Run out of the Ball Park!

Blitzer: So, ummm, who do you think you'll be the spoiler for....
ummm...I mean, not being a top-tier candidate and all, what do you hope to accomplish by your campaign...
ummm...I mean, if you don't win, will you run third party uh...
ummmm......

Oh, hell, IF YOU WERE PRESIDENT, what would you do?

Yep. THAT's the right question.
Next time try "WHEN you are President...."

Prediction: Ron Paul Will Win By a Landslide (great article in USADaily)

I LOVE YOU RON PAUL
and you supporters are great too

i don't know if i'm the only

i don't know if i'm the only one that does this, but every time i see Dr. Paul on one of these clips, i pump my fist in the air. tell me its not just me.

I'm all over that!

I just saw the Blitzer clip for the 1st time. What a strong polished direct home run performance. I don't know many famous quotes about true greatness found in humble places...maybe "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. The Lord is responsible for this, and it is amazing for us to see."

I think Ron Paul will go down in history as representing a humble cornerstone in rebuilding a future for our children that we can be proud of. I am not a big believer in a holy Eye in the Sky, but can it be just luck that in times like this the right man steps forward? It makes me wonder...

No 3rd Party Question!!!!!

Great interview!!!

The most telling sign to me was that there was no "Are you going to run as a 3rd party candidate if you don't get the GOP nomination?" question!!!

Dr. Paul did Great and I too agree that he seems like a natural president!!!

Slam dunk

The MSM is trying so hard. They just can't deal with a level headed response to chaos (now that's leadership). The US minding it's own business and staying out of other countries affairs doesn't seem to compute with these people. They want to invade Pakistan so bad. It's driving them nuts that RP does not give that to them. I love it.

Lead by Example

I think we need to bring back (by we I mean the Ron Paul Nation and maybe his campaign as well) that great line Dr. Paul used on Bill Maher. Something like: "We don't need to be loved or feared around the world, we need to be respected. We can only gain respect if we lead by example - not force!"

Then, some pride could be brought ito the listener by talking about the America that was once an example of freedom and prosperity, etc.... I still love the line "Get our own house in order and secure Freedom here" he used in a debate.

Is Ron Paul qualified, or what?

It's easy to see Ron Paul as our next President! With his command of the issues, it's almost like second nature for him to comment on worldly affairs such as the Pakistanian events. When pressed by Wolf, Dr. Paul calmly replies, " It's what I wouldn't do that's important". He wouldn't do the same things that created such a dictatorship. Our money, and protection is the root of the Pakistan problem. The Pakistanians wanted Bhutto

Search around for the replies some of the others are spouting. All are encouraging more direct intervention. "Let's go clean up the mess with more money, and more troops!" We'll force democracy on them, if we have to blow 'em to smithereans.

fantastic!

I have to admit, I was very surprised at Blitzter's treatment of Ron Paul.... he still hit some hard questions at him (which Dr. Paul can handle, and handled fantastically!).... but to give him the "If you were President..." line...
wow, that really sends a message home!

I gotta believe that either Blitzer has come around (either as a supporter or at least with respect for Ron Paul), or he wasn't paying any attention to how much this interview helped Ron Paul get his position out there!

Finally, addressing some REAL questions on CRUCIAL issues facing Americans now!

Wow!

Not only did Ron make some very good points about non-intervention, but he also did great at the end when he said he is campaigning to win. People want to hear this. They want to hear someone say "I can win".

Ron also looks very rested from Christmas break... Not quite as energetic like the first republican debate, but very close :-)

Wolf asks Ron Paul a Presidential Foreign Policy Question

The angle of Wolfs' line of questioning puts Ron Paul in the "drivers' seat" of this foreign policy crisis. How would he as president, deal with Pakistans' problems in light of his non-interventionist stance?

"We've been giving them billions of dollars, they've got about ten billion dollars over the last eight years, so we've aligned ourselves with a military dictator who over-threw an elected government, and he was supposed to help us find Osama Bin Laden, that hasn't helped, so it was a bad investment. And it also illicits concern about our puppet governments. Musharraf is seen as one of our puppets. There's a group over there, the Alqeida over there is growing, because they don't like us having puppet governments over there, and they love chaos, so I can see where the support we have given Musharraf has been indirectly involved in this: it's a mess."

"So what would you do, specifically, congressman, right now, if you were dealt this hand, as President of the United States?", Wolf asks.

What was said after that is worth reviewing the video again over. It is important to note that Ron Paul first answered Wolf by describing how we got to where we are right now.

If Gee Dubya had wanted a non-interventionist foreign policy, as he campaigned on in 2000, would he have helped set up a puppet government in Pakistan? If Musharif is seen as having allegiance with us, and in causing Benazir Bhuttos' demise, directly or indirectly, are we not perceived as having a cause in this?

The Pakistanis and ourselves are so much worse off for having in place such a flawed foreign policy. Ron Pauls' true non-interventionist policy presents what may be the very best, and perhaps only, alternative to what any of the other candidates have to offer here.

RP is lookin good!

He was looking a little tired in some interviews before Christmas, such as Meet the Press, but he looks like a new man now after Christmas. It's great to see him energized again.

Nuetrality

I especially liked it when he describe a policy of nuetrality, trade, and talking. Not a policy of bribes or bombs. You gotta believe that a lot of people could be won over with this position. Great interview Dr. Paul!

Chairman

Amazing, amazing interview...

An excellent interview. I loved the end when he made it clear that he was campaigning to win, and wasn't even thinking about dropping out regardless of how Iowa turns out. I understand that Blitzer has to ask the question - he's trying to dig up some news.

I'm not a huge Blitzer fan, but he's a guy that I have at least an ounce of respect for because he truly seems to be driven by what's NEWs, and not what his own opinion is.

That was a........

Grand Slam outta the park, balistic home run Dr. Paul just hit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clap for[ RP & ]the Wolfman

obviously got much needed rest over X-mas & was/is at top of game..we are unbeatable when Dr. Paul is rested & fresh.. the campaign trail probably 10 times more stressful than actual Presidency..we shall prevail in 2008..we must..

I'm surprised...... That

I'm surprised...... That there aren't more comments about this interview. It truly was one of the BEST so far!!! I'd have to agree that there's no way we can't win after this!!!

I agree

but we gotta understand that the MSNBC hitjob really takes the cake. Ron did excellent in this interview, and it's great that Wolf didn't even bring up the third party question. But the way Ron countered every single "argument" and insult thrown at him was amazing.

Collectivism is slavery.

Ron Paul is Awesome!!! on CNN

WoW!!! i'm Blown away!!! Ron Paul is going to Win, only a Fool can reject the Constitutional Message that will save this Republic.

It has to be said... . . .

that was a pretty good performance by Ron Paul. Wolf Blitzer tried to force the point but was debated back back by Ron Paul. A really good exchange. Of course Dr Paul was right - non-interventionism is the best policy - at least in this case (if not in all).

Ron Paul, what a man for

Ron Paul, what a man for all seasons. Ron Paul did just great. Same message, same convictions. Unlike other candidates, he deals with the root of the problems with constitutional principles, rather than fixing the symptoms. Wolf 'ol boy looked somewhat sheeplish in the face of Ron's replies.

Brilliant!!!

What can I say... I can be proud of the *next* US prez.

Awesome

Great Interview for RP!

Pretty fair interview, I'd have to say.

Pretty fair interview, I'd have to say.

Great Interview

Once again Ron Paul speaks with the sense of our founders during a difficult time for Pakistan.
