Jane Aitken on the New Hampshire Debate situation-Update

The answer is NOT yet final, so please stay tuned.

As other posts have said, the campaign is already planning something in the event the word is final that he is excluded.

RON PAUL AT ST. ANSELMS for DEBATE - JANUARY 5th at 7:00 PM
ABC, WMUR-TV and Facebook will jointly host back-to-back Republican and Democrat debates from Saint Anselm College on Saturday evening, 7 PM EST, just three days before the official first in the nation primary the following Tuesday. Charles Gibson will moderate.

RON PAUL IN MILFORD - JANUARY 6th (Unconfirmed)
First in the Nation Presidential Brunch on Sunday, January 6th, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hampshire Hills, Milford, NH. (I hope he can find room for this)

RON PAUL AT LIBERTY FORUM - JANUARY 6th
This event is at Crowne Plaza in Nashua and Ron will speak at the closing event on Sunday at around 12:15 PM. (Milford and Nashua are 5 minutes from each other so this is doable)

CANDIDATE FORUM - JANUARY 6th (Unconfirmed)
The New Hampshire Republican Party is sponsoring a forum for Republican presidential candidates on Jan. 6, two days before the state's first-in-the-nation primary.

Unlike a debate, the candidates will face questions from Chris Wallace around a table in a studio on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H. The 90-minute encounter will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio.

And yes that is the one still in question. But please hold your emails to the NH GOP. I am in touch with them about this on a daily basis.

Brunch - UPDATE

Well, we know he'll be in the debate on January 5th, the one on the 6th is still up in the air..............

He is confirmed for the Liberty Forum, but the Brunch -- they still don't know. (I just spoke to the NH GOP and he's not RSVPd yet, but he IS ON MY PAPER INVITE so not to worry)

I HOPE he does not skip the brunch.

The Liberty Forum people are trying to arrange another speaker ahead of him so he can attend both.

Milford and Nashua

.
Are not five minutes from each other. Hampshire Hills is on Emerson Road, an old 2-lane country road. It's more like 20 minutes on 101, figuring in traffic.

Ron should eat quick.
.

Ron Paul IN PERSON!!

Dr. Paul needs to be outside the front doors, especially if he id going to be in New Hampshire anyway. Milk the egotistic mistake of the power elite for all it's worth!!!

Union Leader Article

In this article of December 27th, you can see that it says Rudy's people are not even aware of this OTHER Jan 6th forum in question yet. And Fergus says he hasn't gotten any commitments.

About the first debate:

MANCHESTER – Republican presidential candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney yesterday agreed to participate in the WMUR/ABC/Facebook presidential debates just three days before the primary Jan. 8.

They join fellow Republicans John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson in officially agreeing to the debates scheduled for Jan. 5 at St. Anselm College. The forums begin at 7 p.m.

Now as for the FOX/GOP forum:

Giuliani also agreed yesterday to participate in a presidential debate on the Fox network on Jan. 6, although no debate is currently scheduled. Fox News, with the state Republican Party, had scheduled a Republican debate for that date, but withdrew the proposal when candidates did not commit to the event.

State Republican Party chair Fergus Cullen said the party has been discussing a presidential forum for several months with Fox News for Jan. 6 and has been in touch with all the campaigns about it. "We’ve gotten a favorable response, but that is short of a commitment," he said yesterday.

He said he has noted all along he does not expect the presidential candidates to make a firm commitment to participate in any end-of-the-campaign events until much closer to when they are held.

The state Republican Party has scheduled a presidential forum for 11 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Function Center at Hampshire Hills in Milford. The party’s presidential candidates have been invited to participate in the forum.

OK? So I have been sent a fancy paper invitation to the MORNING EVENT which lists Ron Paul as a participant. But it is a BRUNCH not a forum.

This event will be filmed and then televised. The 90-minute encounter will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio.

The confusion is, I've read elsewhere that this forum will be held in a conference room at St Anselm's where the Jan 5 debate will be held.
So even the UL seems confused on this. The forum is not at the the brunch, for which I got a paper invite, even though the UL makes it sound like Wallace would be conducting his forum there at 11 AM.

Bottom line is, give it some time until we find out. Sometimes the people answering the phones at HQ do not know about all the events until last minute. Certainly the papers are confused!!!!!!

And I still say that when I discussed this second forum with the GOP, they did NOT advise me that Ron would not be invited.

LMAO.. that is the funniest

LMAO.. that is the funniest name I have seen LOL

Ron Paul forums crowd needs this clarification, also.

The thread is at:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=66518

Everyone was wondering over there, as well.

Ack

I would log in there (Username: Jane Aitken) but I forgot my password. LOL

OK, let's wait one day?

I have asked both the NH GOP and the HQ, the top person, and will wait for a response.

I just don't want everyone to get their knickers in a knot ahead of time.

RP is polling at more than the required % in NH so I don't see why they would exclude him. He's also made more money than any of the others.

If it ends up being true, I would say it's FOX's call. But since they are doing this in conjunction with the NH GOP I'd think they'd have something to say about it and would not want to exclude.

I just talked to them a week ago and did not get that impression..also they invited him to the brunch and I assume he's in the ABC/WMUR debate as well.

clarification

I am not John -- he is the one who responded to me and the entire comment was his response.

gleec, sorry, this does not ring true.

The campaign would not urge anyone to "email Fox News repeatedly".

In any case, it doesn't seem that this person "John Swallow" is any sort of authoritative source. He may be a kid working for the campaign who has incomplete information.

Because there is a risk of going off half-cocked, and antagonizing NH republicans as well as FOX, need to get cofirmation first.

Same sort of panic was present about the Iowa debates, and it all turned out to be unfounded.

inquiry

The inquiry was sent by email and the response was emailed to me from the campaign HQ. I have already copied the body of the response in my previous comment.

Not sure what you're putting up, John

"On December 27th, 2007 gleec says:
I sent an inquiry to Dr. Paul's campaign HQ about 2 hours ago and received a response that he had indeed been excluded from the debate by Fox News."

So what sort of inquiry was this? Phone or email? What was the response? Who gave the response? Was it email? If so, from whom? If yes, please share it with us. Otherwise, please be still.

Putting up

Foxnews excludes him. Find their # in NH, write foxnews.com repeatedly!!

Thanks, FYI, I am stunned!! Bonus info. from me to explain how much you, Paul and this election we can do!! Although this is the MOST WIDE OPEN race since 1952, Dr. Paul has the greatest chance of still running for President and 'selling liberty' in 11/08. With no White House or VP incumbent running, pundits say EACH party has 4-5 "frontrunners," things are in such flux.

There is no "official" response from the campaign

I looked on ronpaulforums.com

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=66518

Is the link. They're saying the same thing we are - hold off. There is NO CONFIRMATION that Dr. Paul has been excluded.

Gleec has now been here 30 min. and he claims that, at 9 PM, the RP campaign headquarters is emailing him about this important info.

I say - "put up or shut up". Show us the email, and who it came from. And then someone needs to verify.

I believe this whole post is disinfo, designed to antagonize the NH republican party.

Announced tonight on Jeff Rense Show w/guest Devy Kidd

At approx 10:00 p.m. CST.

Jeff gave the man's name, Fergus Cullin, and his email address.

Which is it? excluded or not? Please clarify.

If he was excluded by GOP I think we should email Fergus. If he was excluded by FOX we should email both Fergus and FOX.

We can be polite in our emails; remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I think we definitely should email our opinions in a polite, firm manner.

debate

I sent an inquiry to Dr. Paul's campaign HQ about 2 hours ago and received a response that he had indeed been excluded from the debate by Fox News.

YOU HAVE BEEN HERE ONE HOUR!!!

And that is it... Jane has been here longer than I have.. and has worked with the campaign..

WHY are people trying to stir this up... WHO is behind this rumor garbage.. WHICH campaign?? McCain??

OK, gleec, I'll play

Please post the email and who it was from.

Jane..that is NOT what I have heard..

At Ronpaulforums.com a guy talked to NH headqts. and they said Fox news had their own criteria of who should be on there--nationally polling at over 4% or somesuch, and then they talked to RP headquarters who confirmed that RP was not invited. Then they list phone numbers for Fox. Go over there and take a look....

Thanks, Jane.

Great update.

Keep this at the top!

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized."
