Jane how could Mr Cullen fight for us to be somewhere that was not even there???? There never was a forum... it was never even formatted as the ABC debates were taking place. Mr Cullen should have checked with the College and Fox news before ever telling anyone he was fighting to get Ron on the forum that wasn't....! don't any of these people verify events before making statements?

You'd think

You'd think it would be easy to confirm or debunk this forum issue. You'd think Fox News would have a schedule posted on their site but they don't -at least I couldn't find it. I've never tried to see their schedule before but I have looked at other TV sites for their upcoming schedules and never, ever had a problem.
Chris Wallace also has no schedule posted.
I'm frustrated. I'm not going to give them the satisfaction of another hit searching for something they should be advertising because they(supposedly) want people to watch it.
They don't care if I know what's on their channel and now I don't care either.
Even if there is a forum and even if Paul is invited I'm not going to watch it now. I'm not going to sit through 90 minutes just to hear them ask Paul something relevant like his opinions on the Louisiana Purchase and whether he's going to run as a third party candidate.
A seperate freedom forum or rally sounds like a good idea.

No Comment from Fox

Like perhaps thousands of other concerned Paul supporters, I e-mailed Fox News with the link to the official campaign statement and asked for Fox News to comment. So far, not even an acknowledgment of the Forum or controversy from Fox. I would have expected Faux News to use this as another opportunity for character assassination and mis-portrayal of us Paul supporters as overzealous, radical, misinformed, etc.

Perhaps Faux News is embarrassed that they couldn't arrange a full debate. Still, the whole deal even if it's a limited "forum" stinks. So much for "fair and balanced" but one can hardly expect fairness from a network that showcases bombastic blowhards like Hannity and O'Reilly. Once and for all this should destroy the myth that Faux News is "conservative." It's just masquerading as such to promote the neocon agenda to the gullible and naive.

I stopped watching the live

I stopped watching the live debates after Sept. I wait till the next day and just listen to his part (all 5 minutes of it). I agree our own rally will be far better.

So true

That's what we do too...all 5 min. I can't stand too listen to the rest.

GOP candidates to meet in N.H. forum

WASHINGTON (AP) — The New Hampshire Republican Party is sponsoring a forum for Republican presidential candidates on Jan. 6, two days before the state's first-in-the-nation primary.

The forum, where the candidates will be questioned by Fox New Channel's Chris Wallace, will be held a day after ABC holds back to back Democratic and Republican presidential debates.

"Never underestimate New Hampshire voters' appetite for politics," said Fergus Cullen, the chairman of the state Republican Party.

Participating in the forum will be Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson.

Unlike a debate, the candidates will face questions from Wallace around a table in a studio on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H.. The 90-minute encounter will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio.

NEED DUE DILLIGENCE - NO Jan 6th DEBATE!!

We need to do "Due Dilligence" folks looks like we may have egg all over our faces again! From the "UNION LEADER" New Hampshire paper December 16th by Tom Fahey
"OUTFOXED
Forget the idea of a presidential debate sponsored by the state Republican Party. GOP chairman Fergus Cullen lost a game of debate chicken with WMUR and ABC this month.
Cullen wanted a GOP debate on the Fox network on Sunday, Jan. 6. WMUR and ABC were locked into Saturday, Jan. 5, to host Democrats and Republicans in back-to-back debates. Cullen had to convince candidates to either withdraw from the MUR event, or debate on two out of five days between Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. MUR had the edge. A Sunday night debate would not give enough damage-control time to candidates who exhibit symptoms of foot-in-mouth disease on national TV.
Cullen threw in the towel last week, saying of the MUR debates, "I suspect they will be the last of the traditional debates with all the candidates."
He still plans a GOP brunch at the Hampshire Hills facility in Milford on Jan. 6, and wants to organize some kind of town-hall forum for candidates able to attend."

HELLLLLLLOOOOOOO

This is DIS-INFORMATION. It is a Round Table Forum not a Debate. Stop mis-leading people. The Nolan Article is Flawed!! Look at the official RP HQ. They are excluded. NOW DELETE THIS POST!!

Get your facts straight before you post this BS!!!

Gold Is Money Forum

A poster over there in the Ron Paul thread says the forum never existed that Dr. Paul supposably was excluded from in NH. That it was a spoof that Kent Snyder and us got sucked into. Mission accomplished.

Here's the link, check for yourself:

http://goldismoney.info/f...

This is the only place I've seen this posted.

The discussion you're

The discussion you're linking to doesn't support your statements.

Be careful what you wish for ...

If FOX includes Ron Paul after much ado, they would not give him any time to talk, just like they haven't before! [Just like the NRA, responding to much criticism and finally including Paul on their page of candidates, actually made things worse by implying that he has nothing to say about gun issues!)

If Ron Paul has his own rally, he will be able to explain his answers to the questions posed at the debate -- a simple broadcast of the debate (using TIVO or somesuch?), hearing the response of the other candidate(s), and then responding himself at his own rally -- in near real-time -- would be very interesting.

Even powerful, if all the local media were fully informed and showed up, and the rest of the national media covered it, and more people went to that rally than appeared at the debates.

Absolutely

Ron Paul doesn't need Faux News to give him "air time".

We just needed them to act like idiots and insult the intelligence of millions (now) of voters.

We will move Heaven and earth to put on a rally that will really demonstrate the power of this movement.

I personally commit to kicking in $5,000 to help with expenses.

I will conference call with New York and Boston Meetups to see how many people they can send to New Hampshire for the Ron Paul Freedom Rally on January 6th.

Response to Fox News/NH-GOP: Watch this video

Here is a great video response to the FOX-News/NH-GOP censorship of the top GOP fundraising candidate in the Primaries for the 4th quarter.

Please watch: http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Take action: Demand an explanation on why FOX News and the NH GOP has refused to invite the top GOP fundraising candidate in the Primaries, and then demand that the public right to hear from all candidates requires that he be invited.

Time to call in Air Support

A Miracle at Liberty Hall
I was in Philadelphia on Nov 3rd -5th. One week before the Philly Rally.
We were scheduled to attend a Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Induction for one of our uncles.

Just before we left for the airport the campaign sent out an email saying that due to excessively high fees ($184,000 for 3 hrs.) the rally venue was changed to Valley Forge Convention Center.

In the morning before I went to the Mall I was bummed out about the change of venue. While I was quiet God impressed upon me to just "Go before", like He was going to show me something if I would just be still and let Him be God.

We went on a tour bus to Independence Hall with about 50 Hall of Fame Inductees and their families.
When I arrived there I prayed that God would make a way to have the Ron Paul Rally at the Mall.

Later that evening around 10pm I checked my email at the hotel and the rally had been rescheduled for the Mall! The rest is history

Amen on that

The Ron Paul campaign needs to get a lot more aggressive in their handling of the press. They may be just as mild and meek as our good Doctor, but we need some real bulldogs fighting for the campaign. None of this, let's wait and see stuff.

A real round table event

Why not engage David Walker, Judge Andrew Napolitano, Paul Craig Roberts and Dr.Paul in a round table discussion. David Walker is taking his Fiscal Wake up tour to Florida January 16th, his goal is to make fiscal responsibility an issue in the Presidential Election. Fox News will only control the questions anyway, giving Dr. Paul little time to answer and doing their best to discredit him. The perfect time would be before Bush's State of the Union Address Jan. 28,2008, and the Florida Primary Jan. 29, 2008. For those of you that did not see Mr. Walker's 60 minutes interview, it is a must see:
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
http://www.gao.gov/specia...

The point is, why continue to allow MSM to control the content of the message. The people want to be told the truth. This is Dr. Paul's strong suit, the truth, the economy, and a plan to avoid certain disaster. In the 60 minutes interview Mr. Walker states," The most serious threat to the United States in not someone hiding in a cave in Afghanistan or Pakistan, but our own fiscal responsibility". Sound familiar? Let's take this adversity and turn it into a positive. Fox is expecting us to do something they can spin into kooky, let's beat them at their own game.

He could get more media attention by being excluded

if he does well in Iowa than if he were in the debate. The contrast with him placing 3rd or higher in Iowa and being excluded from the debate is bigger news than the debate itself.

Soooo this time NOT in CAPS (sorry)

Now, surely CNN would LOVE to bust FOX on this!!!! Send to DRUDGE too (in lower right-hand corner, let's get this ON THE FRONT PAGE of DRUDGE!!!)

Send them our news tip!!! Copy and paste the following and send to CNN and to the DRUDGE REPORT as a news tip to the web addresses below:

"Fair and balanced??? Fox news bans Ron Paul from the NH Forum!!! Depiste the fact that he has out-raised EVERY other Republican candidate running for President this quarter, has SHATTERED the one-day contribution record for a Republican candidate, and has out-polled TWO of the candidates invited!!!"

http://www.cnn.com/exchan...
www.drudgereport.com

PS. THIS WORKS!!! Our office blasted Drudge with the hilarious Huckabee pic (with him and fam in striped shirts) and it went up 20 minutes later!!!

False Claim

I'm not sure where anyone got the idea he has outraised every other candidate. Other candidates have not published their numbers, and won't until they file after the end of the quarter.

He is ahead of many of them based on last quarter, and this quarter is harder to raise for. Also, he appears to be ahead (way ahead) of Huckabee who is making his numbers public.

At any rate, we should not claim to have raised more than anyone else until the candidates announce their numbers.

IMissLiberty

I have also been concerned

I have also been concerned about shouting this news not knowing the other candidates numbers. But did you notice that it was on the intro to Meet The Press? i just wonder if they know something that most people don't have access to.

So what?

It's to the point, that even IF they did exclude Ron Paul, the classless act would only draw more attention to Dr. Paul - especially if the campaign headquarters knew how to capitalize on it. But even old wiley Fox, knows that their ratings will be significantly higher with Dr. Paul in attendance, and I don't think they could resist firing a few more jabs at him anyway.

Source of the phone protest

[I posted this once before, but for some reason, it's no longer appearing. In any case, this is the AP article that sparked the phone/email protests.]

I'm confused

whats this all about? I scrolled down looking for whatever this is refering to but I didnt find anything.

A rumor

Word spread that Ron Paul -might not- be included in the Jan 6 debates. Contact info for the commission supposedly in charge of the debates was spread around and we all got on the line in sort of DoS attack

I'm sorry...

I laughed, a lot. Funny stuff.

But sounds like it has gotten out of hand so let's all stop calling. Good effort though, kudos.

It was posted to Dailypaul to contact them

I don't see the post now, but it was on the dailypaul page about RP being left out. That post gave the NH Republican email address too. Perhaps that should be addressed...

Huh?

Do you act on everything you read once on a forum where anyone can post anything? This is the issue with RP supporters and why, if RP goes down, it will be because of his own supporters rabidly:

-overreacting with rude and threatening e-mails to anyone who criticizes the good doctor even a bit

-overreacting to meme stories with no verification

-putting words in his mouth that have nothing to do with his views. (There sure are a lot of orientalists on this page who apparently don't actually understand RP's views on race and foreign policy.

And before some 17 yo on the forum goes off about how I'm a troll, (which I also observe way too much of) look up someone's history and previous posts before you guys question someone else's credentials. Jumping to conclusions and shutting people up bc they have ideas is not very libertarian.

Your dumb

"-overreacting with rude and threatening e-mails to anyone who criticizes the good doctor even a bit"

While I am sure that some rude and possibly even threatening emails are sent out on occassion to those who criticize Dr. Paul, I believe that is a very small minority.

"-overreacting to meme stories with no verification"

What is a "meme" story? Regardless, it seems you are doing pretty much the same thing. Making criticizm on the basis of no cited fact's. There is a word for that, hypocrit.

"-putting words in his mouth that have nothing to do with his views. (There sure are a lot of orientalists on this page who apparently don't actually understand RP's views on race and foreign policy."

This one I agree with as it stands though, like the other points, I hardly feel that the support from Dr. Paul's grassroots campaign will, or has, brought about anything but positive uplift (on average). Mistakes are made, sure, but nothing so large as to bring about the downfall of Dr. Paul's campaign.

Basically, don't criticize supporters for their actions when a reliable medium asked for them.

Kapiche?

Jane - FYI

A little after noon eastern I emailed the bogus AP link in the USA Daily piece to a former associate with AP who I've known over 25 years. Then I called; she was not pleased but glad to get it and said she would pass it on to those who can address it. More if we can somehow communicate privately, but this is the gist of what I did & thought you should know.

Not sure what you are saying.

I'm not sure what you did but if you have any influence with the AP I would ask them how they knew that those 5 candidates had RSVPd when Rudy's people claim in the UL on Dec 27th they hadn't yet even HEARD about the event.

Also the UL had it mixed up with the brunch, which is NH GOP only and Ron is invited to that, since the NH GOP has never done or said a bad thing towards Ron that I know of.

Stand Down!!!! Stand Down!!!!

This came from my local meet up this morning :

This is an unconfirmed schedule for the last days before the NH primary. I am in touch with the campaign and with the NH GOP to find out if he will be attending the GOP's two events.. I assure you, the NH GOP (Fergus Cullen) would NOT dare to exclude him. NH does not do things like that, so whoever wrote that snarky piece is a jerk. It was more likely that the AP was given the list of those who'd already RSVP'd and Ron likely hadn't at the time. It never said he was 'excluded'. That was an assumption by that blogger..

Relax please...and let the information come to light

USA Daily plant

There is no AP article. None.

The link on USA Daily is bogus.

Stop calling. Stop emailing.

This is an attempt at subterfuge, and people are reacting to it. Stop

America is sick, call a doctor! Dr. Ron Paul.

This topic

was floating around our Austin meetup discussion group this morning and this is what one of our meetup members was able to find out.

"January 5th is the ABC/WMUR/Facebook debate. All candidates have accepted the debate offer.

January 6th is the NH Republican Party forum aring on FOX. The NH GOP has been contacted about this already and they have assured that all candidates were invited. However, the forum begins at 11am and runs for 90 minutes. Dr. Paul is already booked to provide closing comments at the Liberty Forum at noon. So, there's a scheduling conflict. However, since the 2 events are close to each other (Milford and Nashua are only 5 minutes away from each other) it's possible that he may be able to attend both if they move back the closing of the Liberty Forum a bit."

Librety Forum

Jane is absolutely correct with this post. The NH GOP has been very good to us, and it is confirmed that they are not blocking Ron Paul at all on this.

The folks at the Liberty Forum had already offered to shift times to accommodate, btw.

NO NO NO

My god.. the campaign is asking you NOT TO CALL.. You folks are idoots that want to call when asked not to call..

Amen!

Very counterproductive! If you want to make calls, get an Iowa list and start dialing!

NH Gop Headquarters

RON PAUL 2008 Jazzloversinc Well it appears that Ron Paul has been excluded in the Fox forum, so I would consider it not so good if the NH GOP doesn't withdraw their sponsorship from the event since all of the GOP candidates are not being represented.
