Finally! My First Post

Hi, Everyone! I've been reading these posts for a couple of weeks and decided to jump in.
Yesterday I contributed to the Money Bomb and as I read your posts I noticed many people have concerns about money and wish they could do more financially.
You see, I grew up in "the olden days" (before computers and fancy hi-tech gadgets) and was taught that word of mouth was the best form of advertising. Then last night at work it hit me. Each one of us could order (or even create!) a shirt that says something like, "Ask me why I'm voting for Ron Paul" and wear it to a populated place (mall, bus depot, etc.) making ourselves highly visible for an hour or two every week. Believe you me, people are desperate for answers in this depressed economy and they WILL approach us. We should be able to answer their basic questions and leave them with some form of promo that directs them to Dr. Paul's website.
Dear friends, there is no lack of money out there - only an insufficient number of RP Converts! Just suppose you enlighten 5 people and each one of them talks to 5 more, and those 5 in turn reach 5 others, and so on...well, can you begin to imagine what will happen? Sure, we'll have to step outside our comfort zones to go one-on-one with strangers and for some it will be tough. But, don't we have it pretty darn easy compared to what Dr. Paul faces everyday? Ron needs our courageous efforts in this battle. He cannot win this fight without our help. Sorry this is a long post, but I feel strongly about this. Are you with me?

Hey Grambo,
Thanks for the explica on Zacheus for ABBA-ABBA.
Just check'n out your post. When individual rights and personhood are highly valued, we get the most amazing growth of creativity. For message delivery, for inginuity , job creation, generousity, etc., etc. etc. etc. etcetera.
For me the whole message of liberty that Dr. Paul has stirred up in our time is about the release of life and abundance.
The controling nature of human government (not bound by constitutional covenant or regard for the dignity of each person made in the image of God) is such that all manner of positive creativity and inventiveness for the sake of others gets stifled in a big way. Likely this is because people become fearful of acting and behaving in ways that "might" bring retaliation and financial penalty. Anyhow -long reply- but just wanted to acknowledge your creativity in communicating the liberty message and its champion Ron Paul.

Steven of Virginia, thank you

for your kind thoughts. Untold power resides in the written and spoken word and its intended impact - be it for good or evil. As for myself, I've always been a liberty-loving Patriot who writes from my heart. Perhaps we'll meet somewhere, someday, on the Freedom Road. Please be well and safe.

Keep up the good work.

someone else had a similar idea. I think his was "ask me about Ron Paul"

No need to apologize for the long post

after a night of drinking when I hit the dailypaul after too many cold ones, I get afraid to log in the next day to see what I wrote, that has happened more than I would like to admit. Write away, this is a liberty site, and you are encouraged to write as many words as you need to in order to get your point across. Great idea, and keep up the great work!!!!

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

Very similar idea

I had a very similar idea today. People are suffering from media delusion, they still trust the TV is telling them the truth. You hear this all the time "I like Ron Paul, but...." -- The BUT is born out of lies and distortions that the MSM want you to believe.

So to shatter this perception, we need to go out in full force and co-ordinate it with the money bombs for extra advertising.

I suggest everyone get their Ron Paul swag on and goto their local shopping Mall and you can stand around holding leaflets, or just go do your shopping making sure you take your time for full exposure. At the same time, I suggest we put up Tables at all the Mall exit's with leaflets and banners. I'm not sure how legal it is to setup outside a mall, so you might have to check into that.

Can you imagine thousands of Ron Paul supporters visible in every shop across the nation, it could really enforce that he's not a fringe candidate after all.

We should so do this October 19th for the Black This Out Money Bomb.

P.S. I love the chanting and sign waving, but please don't do this in the Malls. People seeing 5,10,20,100's of people wearing Ron Paul T-Shirts on the same day will be a powerful message in of it's self. And if people have "ask me why I'm supporting Ron Paul?" on their shirt like the OP has suggested, it will really draw in those who are on the fence but who have been scared off by the MSM.

I totally agree

We need to mingle with as many folks as possible and reach them one by one. The advantages are, they will be talking to someone in person, someone like themselves, AND they can get their questions answered which the MSM can't/won't do. The ultimate beauty of this is that when they learn the truth and get excited about it, they will do the same - talk to people one by one! Ron's message will spread like wildfire! Let's do it!

on your first post. Welcome aboard! :)

T-shirts are indeed powerful...

...for letting me inside this great camp! I believe that "thoughts become things" and so I keep seeing Dr. Paul with one hand raised, the other on a Bible taking his oath of office as President of the United States of America. I hold that vision before me more and more each day. It is already done. We just have to march ahead to meet that event. Good to have you folks to walk with. Thank you! Grambo2

Thanks for responding!

Thanks for responding! You're my first responder to my first post - ever!! It took me 2+ hours this am (after working all night) to get my thoughts where you could see them. I wish I was more adept at this computer stuff, but at least now I know I did it right!

Welcome, and glad you posted.

Welcome, and glad you posted. Surprisingly, a few weeks ago someone made this shirt, wore it, and got great responses. We wanted one but the resulting designs we ok, just not great. The question on the shirt did lead to a lot of comments, but you sure can't ask people to donate then..:)
He has 500,000 friends on facebook. Would have been nice if they all donated $10-20 dollars, but they don't. I do not know why. I saw MANY people on here yesteday donating upwards of $100 and $200 (I could not do that) and we barely will get to $1 mil. BUT, that is still good, just makes me mad at facebook.

Hi, Crickett: Thanks for the welcome and your thoughts. You're just the person I was trying to reach with my post. I'm a working Grandma and (like you) I don't have as much to give as I'd like. But, there's strength in numbers and we'll never know unless we try just how far-reaching our efforts will be. On my break last night at work, I was checking this website for money bomb progress. A co-worker walked by, saw the name "Ron Paul" and said, "Oh, he's crazy. I don't believe in some of his ideas." Then, looking at me, she said, "YOU don't like him, DO you?" I smiled and said, "I'm doing everything possible to help him get elected. Would you be willing to tell me what you don't agree with?" This co-worker's face went ashen and she stammered, "I just don't want to talk about anything." And away she went like a rocket. Hopefully, I'll do better next time.

you did perfect!

when they respond that way, it means you called them out, in a friendly and non provocative manner.

HVACTech: Thanks for your positive note...

...but I have a question. Realize I'm older and not very versed in computer lingo, so when I see the word "bump" is that something positive? What does it mean, exactly? Take us oldsters by the hand and educate us, please.
Many thanks, Grambo2

"Freedom is never free!"

what does bump mean?

If someone makes a comment on your article, the title of your article gets "bumped" to the top of the "Active Forum Topics" list, on the right side column.

Sometimes, people have nothing particular to say in response but they want the topic to stay on the "board" so to say, so they just write "bump".

Generally, a bump would always be a good thing. Thanks for posting your experience. You are very smooth and I think it is good to get someone to think about why they are just repeating what they heard without knowing why!

You rock!

Thanks so much for the info.

That is the absolute perfect response. People respect that kind of conviction.

You did fine. Just fine. She knows nothing. Those sort of people are quite factually afraid to think! She has a long way to go. Just say stuff every once in awhile--small stuff--that will get her to start thinking instead of just repeating what she has heard. That soil must be prepared before a seed can be planted. I know those..:)

Hey, Crickett: Thanks for your encouraging words. You can bet I'll keep on trying. You know, I've thought lately that most Americans have been enslaved for so long we appear to suffer from "Stockholm Syndrome." Are you familiar with that concept? "Must make nice with the captors just to survive." BTW, I'm almost 64 years old and have never had the privilege of living in a free America. Before I leave this life, it would be a wonderful feeling to experience. And I would go in peace knowing that my children and grandchildren can drink daily from the cup of freedom. Thanks for listening to an older heart.

I'm 51 and have no children, but many nieces and nephews , and many other young people I care a good deal about. I desire the same thing for them, you put it so well, and this is what motivates this also recently awakened soul to pursue liberty and justice for ALL. We can taste it now , mmmm goood! Eyes fixed forward on the prize for our posterity.

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

Stockholm Syndrome

That is hitting the nail directly on the head.

I gotta say I am glad to be fighting this fight next to you grambo!

HuskerSkier, I want to thank you

from my heart for your kind words that brought a tear to my eye and hope to my soul. If you were here, I'd make you dinner, or cookies, or both! While it's true that we want a better life for our children and grandchildren, if those of us that have worked so hard for so long could just set foot in the promised land, we would be at peace. The spirit of this revolution has burned in my heart and mind for so long now. Thank you for standing beside me.
