Don't worry, stay focused
Many Ron Paul supporters are in a snit over the Fox thing. This is understandable, since they Fox as shown its obvious bias against our guy. I don't quite agree with Ron when he says that Fox is "afraid" of him. They just don't like his message of freedom, of ending the war and bringing troops home from everywhere, downsizing the government, personal liberty, and so forth.
As we have seen since the campaign began, the media is no friend to us - except on rare occasions. Our true allies are each other and the internet, through which we communicate and grow the campaign. This is nothing Fox, or anybody else, can stop. They couldn't stop the event in Ames, Iowa, last June. They could not stop the various straw polls that Ron Paul won; they could not stop the money bombs, the blimp or the exponential growth of Ron Paul supporters. So they do their best--in frustration--and bar him from one TV event. That is all they are able to do. Frankly, it is not very much.
We have seen one miracle after another in this campaign. That Ron Paul should do so well in the face of a hostile media, against the longest of odds, should give us all reassurance and hope. Worry, doubt, fear, anger - they just don't help; they only serve to create more of the same. Negative emotions are self-reinforcing and ultimately destructive. Probably best to avoid them, if possible.
This campaign still has a very long journey, and it awaits us all. Therefore, staying calm, focused on the goal and having a simple faith that the miracles will continue is probably a good idea. Of course, keeping active - as we saw in that stirring NH video - is vital. We can't stay idle; we must keep Ron Paul active in our hearts and minds and share his message with everybody. If we do that, I think we'll be fine.

We can win if we stay positive.
The specifics of message sells itself. Enough said.

We Just want Fair Coverage
I was watching CNN today and Ron Paul was on giving a speech
It was very good. It lasted I'm guessing 5 - 7 minutes.
So his message is still going out.
We need to all grow leather skin because when he does get the GOP nomination we are going to need it!
Thanks to Zenpiper for this reality check. I think I needed it.
its not just Fox
the complete lack of any mention of even Ron Pauls name today is disturbing to say the least..instead of a almost $20,000,000 all-time GRASSROOT record fundraising quarter leading every news broadcast, not even a mention of his name..upsetting to say the least ..it shows just how much trouble this country is really in & how desperately we need a leader like Dr. Ron Paul NOW

So right
You are so right. I think Fox was just playing with us to get us off message.
Nothing would surprise me with them. The best way to get back at them is to say on message, keep our eye on the ball and win. If they do exclude Dr. Paul, it will only backfire on them. Americans despise other people trying to make decisions for them. Just try taking a friend to lunch and ordering his food for him without him being able to look at the menu.
Agreed... So I went CANVASSING yesterday door-to-door
And will do more of it again today.
Focus on the TASKS at hand people! Ignore the Fake corporate Beltway idiots for at least 1/2 the day, and get out there and TELL people the truth yourself -- give them the ammo they need.
If you haven't, go and watch the TRAINING videos -- see the link on the front page. YOU CAN DO THIS... TOGETHER, WE CAN DO THIS!
We outnumber them and our numbers are GROWING every day as our previously "apathetic" brothers & sisters learn about Ron Paul and US -- let's keep it going and soon we will have ENOUGH people to make certain we will win!
Keep It simple
I know the federal government is corrupt.
I know RON PAUL is not.
vote and support RON PAUL for president.
Word
On The Other Hand
Fox News' behavior and advocacy demonstrates that they support, lobby for, live by, and manipulate these kinds of unconstitutional laws.
Since they use them to further their monopoly by using government force to prevent competition, at the very least when they violate them in order to maintain their hold over the policies of this country, they richly deserve to get skewered by those same laws.
Further, attempting an action to make them live by the laws that they try to purchase will demonstrate to the public how these laws are applied and by whom, when enforcement never takes place. And that, my friends, will be broadcast on the internet as well.
The more injustice by the power elite that can be peaceably demonstrated and shown to the people, the more people will wake up to what is going on.
I say, stick it to them with their own daggers.
I understand the point about the principles of not using these unconstitutional laws, because we disagree with their premise. And so I think the official campaign should be hands-off. Let the viewers make the complaints. That complaint process is the only mechanism given the public other than an unlikely repeal of the laws (which won't happen if we allow them to suppress the message and give up without a fight).

the foxnews roundtable of losers on Jan 6
its the Jan 6 foxnews GOP LOSERS roundtable discussion..the 5 losing candidates will discuss with mike wallace what they are going to do with their pathetic lives after the 2008 primaries...it will only make RP & supporters stronger..MOST/MAJORITYwill see right thru this snub..20 million raised & no invite??huh?..something really stinks here ..we are dumbed down..but not that dumbed down...
Of course the main media is unfair - what exactly did we expect?
Ron Paul is for liberty and FOX has the rights to invite whoever they want. Of course the main media is unfair - what exactly did we expect?
However, they invited more Republicans than Democrats, so it is probably "fair" that they did not invite everyone. So who should they have excluded if they had invited Paul?
Not everything is a conspiracy - although a lot of it is!
If we want to win we need to get on with our work of spreading the positive message of freedom, peace and limited Government to people who are interested and want to know. I still think most of our potential future Paul voters are normal people who are not yet familiar with our message. We all need to get of our computers and talk to the people we know - or knock on a few doors - respectfully - which means that if they don't agree with us then that's ok too.
I actually think it may turn out to be a good thing that Paul is not invited. It has united us even more and probably attracted a few new supporters who think it's unfair. Furthermore, Ron Paul's message is very difficult to communicate in this setup where they will all try to make him look like a kook by asking him unfair questions and not allowing him time to answer.
I hope this is helps
A little research may help us.
This is about equal time:
Equal-time rule
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
This article is about a rule applicable to U.S. broadcast licensees with respect to political candidates. For rules on matters of public controversy, see Fairness Doctrine.
The equal-time rule specifies that U.S. radio and television broadcast stations must provide an equivalent opportunity to any opposing political candidates who might request it. This means, for example that if a station gives one free minute to a candidate on the prime time, it must do the same to another.
However, there are four exceptions: if the air-time was in a documentary, bona fide news interview, scheduled newscast or an on-the-spot news event the equal-time rule is not valid. Since 1983, political debates not hosted by the media station are considered news events, thus may include only major-party candidates without having to offer air time to minor-party or independent candidates.
This rule originated in § 18 of the Radio Act of 1927[1]. It was later superseded by the Communications Act of 1934, where the Equal Time Rule is codified as § 315(a).
Another provision of § 315(a) prohibits stations from censoring campaign ads. A related provision, in § 315(b), requires that broadcasters offer time to candidates at the same rate as their "most favored advertiser".
The rule was created because FCC thought the stations could easily manipulate the outcome of the elections.
The Equal-time rule is sometimes confused with the Fairness Doctrine.

Ron Paul is the only clear choice
Faux News Fear
I think that Fox News is afraid of having Ron Paul on the program. The other candidates in the Republican party are-- "Yawn"-- more of the same. But Ron actually offers something totally new and brilliant. Let's follow the Constitution!
I'm thrilled to see Paul becoming aggressive. Also, we should all be thanking Fox. They've given much more publicity to Paul than he would have gotten otherwise.
By all means, keep the hate mail going to Fox, and also throw some in for that supposedly Christian magazine World Magazine. They've completely ignored Ron who's ideals for government are much more in step with the biblical ideologies of civil government, church government and family government. Paul also gives us the added breath of fresh air of not being a God salesman.
God's blessed us with Ron Paul!
Breaking FCC laws is not
Breaking FCC laws is not something we should take lightly, nor consider fighting against it as anything but positive. You write a great letter and you are very correct, but, the media can NOT get away with going against the laws that govern them. to whit:
Section 315 [47 U.S.C. §315] Facilities for candidates for public office.
(a) If any licensee shall permit any person who is a legally qualified candidate for any public office to use a broadcasting station, he shall afford equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office in the use of such broadcasting station: Provided, That such licensee shall have no power of censorship over the material broadcast under the provision of this section. No obligation is hereby imposed under this subsection upon any licensee to allow the use of its station by any such candidate. Appearance by a legally qualified candidate on any –
(1) bona fide newscast,
(2) bona fide news interview,
(3) bona fide news documentary (if the appearance of the candidate is incidental to the presentation of the subject or subjects covered by the news documentary), or
(4) on-the-spot coverage of bona fide news events (including but not limited to political conventions and activities incidental thereto),
shall not be deemed to be use of a broadcasting station within the meaning of this subsection. *** Nothing in the foregoing sentence shall be construed as relieving broadcasters, in connection with the presentation of newscasts, news interviews, news documentaries, and on-the-spot coverage of news events, from the obligation imposed upon them under this Act to operate in the public interest and to afford reasonable opportunity for the discussion of conflicting views of issues of public importance.*******
This last paragraph MEANS that if C-Span wants to present an entire hour of an on-the-spot coverage of Huck's speeches in Iowa (not even disputing that it is a bona fide news event) then they are MANDATED to do the same for Ron Paul. Ron Paul has the MOST conflicting views of any of the other candidates. The simple proof of this? They are ALL members of a group that he is NOT a member of ..the CFR. His views must be presented, for the public good. Please read the FCC code or contact me and I will send you the relative parts. The stations are also REQUIRED to keep track in an easily shown format the EXACT amounts of time given (or sold) to each candidate and the price is also mandated (if any) to be similar.
Please do not allow HQ to let this go by as Ralph Nader seemed to do.
I thought we put this to rest already
I thought we put this to rest already. Using the FCC, a government agency, to enforce our wishes on a private organization is about as far from Ron Paul's principles as you can get. If you persist in pushing this, you are no friend of liberty. You can convince others to not watch or patronize their sponsors, but taking control of someone else's business through government action is against everything we stand for. The whole point of this candidacy is to eliminate the very types of unconstitutional laws you referenced.
You are absolutely right
Asking the FCC to take action on this is completely opposite to what Ron Paul stands for.

Not taking anything lightly
.
Just staying calm about it.
Since you seem to know so much about the FCC and the law, you are probably the best person to take action, or form a group or organize an email campaign. Sounds like you have a good point.
Is this something the ACLU could get behind? Or other social justice group?
What can the people of Daily Paul do to help you?

I am going to call the FCC
I am going to call the FCC tomorrow and enter a complaint about the flagrant disregards of equal time for a candadate with conflicting views. I am going to ask that they immediately check on this with all of the stations, and then, when proven true, to tell me what my recourse is. I do not want to have to file any sort of class action suit, as that will not remediate the immediacy of the problems these violations are causing the American public. I am going to see what they say, then I will consider other courses of action I may be able to conjure up. I am not an activist, nor am I normally a news watcher. However, tonight, when all the candidates were flashed on CBS for Campaign 2008, neither RP nor DK's picture was flashed. This seemed also another area of neglect that should be addressed. I am seeing this everywhere, now, and I am mentally counting up the time. I will also be requesting the time file from all of these stations if the FCC does not seem that they will be doing it quickly. I will then call them again when I receivethose files (although there does not seem to be a time limit imposed as to how soon they must mail them to me). That is what I am going to do. If anyone has any other ideas I wish they would let me know. I know they will find a way to squash me in the end, but it will be horridly illegal if they do not enforce their own rules.
Thank you zenpiper
This is a great post, and yes we all need to stay focused on the task at hand. We have a long road ahead in getting Ron the nomination. We hold the key and we can do this.
