Napolitano for VP! Pat would be great for SOS regardless of what his domestic policy views are, his foreign policy views are spot on and in line with Rons.
I heard Buchanan on Michael Savage's show a few days ago. They were talking about the Butto thing. Savage went off on Ron Paul because Savage decided not to listen to what Ron Paul was saying. Savage says Pakistan can't handle Democracy... Yea no shit! (Neither can Iraq but for some reason Neo Con's don't see that.) Ron Paul is saying we shouldn't be involved. If we weren't involved they would just have their little dictator. Buchanan didn't do jack shit to help Ron Paul out.
I think Buchanan is a bit jealous because he never received the kind of grassroots support that Ron Paul has. Buchanan said on one show, I can't remember which one, but it was recent. He said, "My friend Ron Paul, blah, blah, blah.... (I can't remember then entire sentence, but I know it was positive.) However, he did say that after the dust has settled from this crazy race, Ron Paul will be the last man standing, but he'll be standing outside of the white house. :( IN HIS OPINION....
No confidence in Ron Paul, or he knows the media is going shut him out totally or he knows something more about it he's not letting on.
Buchanan is just trying to sell his book as well. Not sell Ron Paul.
Not sure why we keep seeing these threads, but Pat is too divisive and only cater to real conservative, unlike Ron Paul. If anything we need Walter Williams.
Sorry, I happen to like a lot of about pat, but he is way too divisive. No liberal, democrat, or a lot of other Indie voters would join like they have thus far.
Walter Williams would bridge all the racist baggage and bring a lot more people on board.
I recall reading that he had been offered the job during the Nixon administration but upon having a dinner with Novak, he thought he did not have the required "tough hide" to politely take the shots - poorly disguised as questions from the press.
Pat Buchanan is much better suited for Secretary of State. He is a true statesman, has experience in previous administrations, understands the politics of different cultures (read his books), and he's respected around the world.
Actually, when you think about it... nobody could be a better Press Secretary than Pat Buchanan... LOL... imagine HIM out there in front of the pressing fending off questions and protecting Ron Paul.... honestly... he would make a great PS...
No question about it. Interesting enough, I have never been a Pat Buchannan fan in the past (for certain reasons) but he does come across Professional... have to admit... he has gained more support lately since he has not been so Neo-Connish as in the past...
(or at least that was the way I perceived him in the past)
Buchanan is right on a lot of things but he is a little divisive because on some comments he has made in the past, especially in regards to homosexuals.
I've been saying for months that I'd like to see Paul/Nepolitano ticket. Nepolitano has charisma that Dr. Paul sometimes seems to lack (not a diss -- I love Dr. Paul's straightforwardness, but he can go off on a tangent when he's worked up sometimes). Nepolitano would add that much needed factor into the campaign.
Napolitano is someone that has values and stands for what is right! Buchanan is someone who appears to go along with whomever is popular. First he is your friend then he switches over to the darkside. Nepolitano is rock solid!
Buchanan has his flaws, but going with the flow isn't one of them. That man has remained rock solid against empire since before I could read. I wouldn't want him as VP but as secratary of state. I doubt he would accept it though his book contract make him a wealthy man. I have to pick up his new book by the way.
I recall Pat's conversion on the campaign trail in New Hampshire. Seeing first-hand the effects of the Neo-con "Free-Trade NAFTA policy, he reconsidered his FREE-TRADE position and determined that his original position was wrong . It takes a big man to admit that his long held opinion was incorrect. He did not let his ego override intellectual honesty; a rarity these days.
What Pat B. has observed since that campaign, is that as globalists have worked to decrease the importance of borders via the "Globally Managed Trade Agenda in an effort to get closer to a global governance model, they unwittingly released powerful countering forces of ethnicity, religion and race.
Pat seems to be betting that the forces of ethnicity, religion and race, once unrestrained from a common culture, will overwhelm the neo-con force of global government. In Pat's view, those forces could take out not only global governance ( a good) but also a united America ( a bad) . I do not see anything bigoted in that observation.
Paul and Buchanan likely have enough concern over the future of America, that they could work together as Prez and VP. The big question would be how each deals with the moral aspects of the culture. Could Pat agree to leave the states decide rather then the federal gov? My bet is Yes as he is likley to give up a field goal in order to win the game.
I think adding a high profile name like Pat's to the ticket is the way to go. Dr. Paul and him agree on many, many issues. I only wish he would have dropped Dr. Paul's name when he was on Hannity and Colmes the other night.
Should be entertained as VP.I don`t know that he would want the job,but the VP`s job in a constitutional gov`t ain`t that tough.
I don`t really know his political views, but I read his autobiography.I remember he was asked about running for office or accepting a cabinet position a few years back and he responded with"Washington DC is the only city in the world where you can run a mile in any direction and still be at the scene of the crime"...later in the interview he said "Well, you never know,I`m getting older, and the congress and the pentagonare the worlds largest adult daycare centers."
I may not have the quotes exactly right, but damn close. He would be a great VP.
Norman Schwarzkopf's father founded the New Jersey State Police. Norman is staunchly anti-Second Amendment. He believes that only Police and Military should posses firearms and no one else. If allowed any kind of power he would put our current "police state" on steroids!
But I would like to see Judge Andrew Napolitano for VP. Judge Napolitano has a fine legal mind and speaks with great clarity and conviction. He would also make a terrific president if, God forbid, anything ever happened to Ron Paul.
Yes. Good choice for VP (Napolitano).
Pat Buchanan has marvelous speech-writing skills, and would probably be very valuable in some role pertaining to press relations.
My very liberal sister can respect him, understands he is an intelligent person, and is not turned off by his views. Just anecdotal, for sure, but she certainly doesn't dislike him.
On the other hand, what she thinks about GB II isn't 'clean enough' to print on this fine forum.
FWIW, she currently is favoring Richardson. She has assured me that no matter who wins the nod on the democrat side, she will vote for Paul in November if he is the REPUBLICAN nominee.

A little too much ego for my taste. I don't know how Ron could ever stand him for five minutes. However, he is smart and articulate; but, as one other poster said - there's baggage.
Until and unless Brother Buchanan can be turned around on the insanely cruel and counterproductive drug war, and steps back from his brand of "economic nationalism", he's not qualified to take over for President Paul.
Hey, but what's not to love about Pat otherwise? I've been pushing for his being tapped to head the State Department for months.
I just finished reading my fathers copy of A Republic not an Empire. This book was written in 1999. There are many lines that sound just like Ron's speeches. Pat also talked about non-intervention vs. interventonists calling us isolationists. Pat would bring more Republicans into the group!
to post them i just saw the re-run of it on PBS, which originally aired on Friday's McLaughlin Group. I did go to Pat Buchanan's website and he has a whole section on Ron Paul news!
Pat for secretary OF STATE
Napolitano for VP! Pat would be great for SOS regardless of what his domestic policy views are, his foreign policy views are spot on and in line with Rons.
Fox would love that
Buchanan, fairly or not, would have people calling them racist.
It's not up to us to pick Ron's VP.
He knows a lot of people, both in and out of government, who share his principles. I am sure he can pick a good running mate all by himself.
Pat B. is a Knight of Malta - read Secret Society
I'd go for Judge Nepolitano, even if he does work for Fox.

Well respected, highly intelligent, articulate.

Agree wholeheartedly!
"The judge" would be best in the position of Supreme Court Judge, (strict Constitutionalist), just like Dr. Paul or perhaps as Attorney General.

Yes. Good choice for VP (Napolitano).

He won a bunch of states that year
My State Missouri for one
I like Pat, I voted for Pat, but his time is over as far as running for anything. He might make a great Secretary of State
I love Pat but.........
He carries way to much baggage.

I think Walter Jones of NC would be the heat.
