Ain't it funny,

that every poll gets a "quick makeover" when Ron Paul leads? Ladies and Gentlemen, we're in for a tough fight against all odds! As candidates drop out due to weakness, they will consolidate with the neocon darlings because they'll receive many, many political perks for their support. I guess that's how politics works these days. Keep the grassroots growing.

gold & silver

markets betting on Ron Paul..gold hit another all time high overnight.[not really when adjusted for inflation but I am big gold & silver holder so I will take it]

Fall?

It seems to me that gold will continue to rise if anyone but RP is elected and that it will fall if he is.

Silly

Rudy isn't even in Iowa and is polling around 4%. No worries... T minus 9 hrs and counting to the R3VOLUTION!

wants are unlimited, means are scarce...

rigged for sure

Here is the AOL poll that I first voted in on my home computer and Ron Paul is by far the winner with almost 250,000 people voting.
http://news.aol.com/polit...

This next poll is supposedly a new poll but it actually is not because I tried to vote on it and it would not allow my home computer to access the poll to vote . It said that I voted already. To prove this (that this 2nd poll was the rigged poll)I went to my office and sure enough I was able to vote using my office computer. This tells me that AOL did not accept any votes from computers that voted for ron paul in this so called original poll. In fact the oriignial poll says that it goes to jan 4th. Go ahead and check the followng link out and see that Ron Paul has only 14% support and the vote totals are down to 70k or so.

Poll Is Rigged

Something fishy going on. I've been watching this poll for days now. Something isn't right. There just isn't that much grassroot support for the other candidates for them to beat Paul on the polls.

The only other thing I can figure, is that with being so close to the first caucus, people are away from their computers more, out doing street actions and so forth. But wouldn't the other candidates supporters be doing the same thing?

This is odd.

Don't forget

that we are fundamentally different from the supporters of the other guys. They will be sitting at home the entire time, curious who will win, and with but a mild preference, they will silently cheer for their guy. We have been hitting the streets and telephones, with the furious urgency of now, with a passion for freedom, in rejection of the propaganda we have been fed for much of our lives. Tomorrow we shall see who's supporters have the most energy. I have no doubt, it is us.

I thought

I thought AOL was defunct. Oh well. ;)

just voted and

he's in the pop-up window now:

Huckabee 22%
Romney 21%
Giuliani 20%
McCain 18%
Paul 14%

Still #5,

and not in the pop up window. I know those polls are worthless, but I doubt any of us can stand to lose any poll! Hope it changes with time...

Scroll

RP shows @ 14% but you have to scroll down. Only the top 4 are shown without scrolling... it's a conspiracy it say!! (just a joke, really).

This is about the best poll avialable because

it's open to anyone who's remotely interested....unlike the targeted polls by the professional. It's great to see a real snapshot of what people are really thinking. The Paul campaign needs to be talking about this poll in a big way.........it should be linked to the official web site, and it should be mentioned over and over in press releases.

Except for the popup Paul blackout!

The poll only lists 4 people in the results popup (not the main web page), Dr. Paul not among them, and about 10K votes are not accounted for there.

"Welcome to 2008: The Year of Ron Paul!"

AOL not owned by News Corp. (Faux)

I have seen a couple people post that AOL is owned by News Corp. (Faux). That isn't correct. AOL is owned by Time Warner.

AOL I.T.

The AOL I.T. guys play with their polls more than they play with themselves.

Latest on other AOL Map poll

RP still doing great!

AOL has 2 polls going at the same time!!!!!!!!!!

Wake up folks. Glad 2bdad is linking to the original poll that has Ron Paul winning by a landslide, BUT if yoiu go to this poll http://news.aol.com/elect...
Ron Paul is at 14% instead of 28%!!!!! THey are running 2 polls simultaneously and only showing the results of the rigged poll. I am not kidding here. We need to blast AOL and call them on this scam.

Here is the original poll that I voted on and Dr Paul is winning by a wide margin.
http://news.aol.com/polit...

Wow, that is amazing

Good news is that as of 1:30 a.m. Dr Paul was rising in the poll where he was lower -- from 14 to 16%. Meantime still at 28% on the other.

There must be some explanation for the difference -- I mean, it's not like AOL can hide results of one vs. the other. A link is a link, after all.

At this point, I feel (just an opinion) the only voting that matters starts tomorrow.

Thanks for letting us know.

Give us a few hours. We'll soon see if it's accurate.

As for their initial poll results, I think it's more a reflection of the readership of AOL News. Anyone who discovers & supports Ron Paul will not be getting "news" from AOL for long, if at all. After all, consider the owner.

Check the question - it's

Check the question - it's not "whom will you vote for," it's "who do you think will win." Little changes like that can drastically alter the results in a poll.

Plus Paul isn't far behind. It's a statistical 5-way tie.

Exactly

its not asking who you want to have the job, but how well you predict the future. They have to reframe the question to get the "right" answer. I'll pass on this one...although a decent placing might get some people to take notice of Dr. Paul and get hooked. I've changed my mind, I will vote.

RP won in something like 48

RP won in something like 48 states at one point in their other poll. The only other time RP lost an online poll that I know of, it was discovered that the site was cheating, increasing other candidate's numbers in multiples on each click.

If I wanted to set up a poll to eliminate people voting who got the link from a forum instead of just my normal readers I would do something like only include votes that came from the link to the poll page on my own site using the http referrer information.

If they're doing something like that and RP is really getting 12% of regular AOL users, that's not bad at all. It's higher than land line polls due to including cellphone users and people who screen calls, as well as semi-self selecting in that only people interested enough in the race to bother voting get counted. If we assume a greater percentage of RP voters turn out than the supporters of other candidates he could easily win it.
