Why We Should Boycott Fox News - Beyond the Campaign
I had an eye opening experience last spring when my son was born three months prematurely. Up until that time, I was a frequent visitor of FoxNews.com, and I watched O'Reilly, Cavuto, and all of the other Fox News commentators. They were my primary news source.
When my son was born, I suddenly had no time to surf the Internet. All of my time was occupied with either work, traveling to and from the hospital (and shuttling my other children to their grandparents), and spending time with our newborn. Two months later, I went back to FoxNews.com, and it suddenly struck me how utterly terrible the site had become. The primary sponsor was Victoria Secret. At least half of the articles, especially those with pictures, were related to stories about sex: a teacher/student affair, abductions, Paris Hilton/Britney Spears/Lindsey Lohan, etc.
I was completely repulsed by what they were foisting on people, and then it struck me -- what a devious plot to lead conservatives and Christians astray?! They created a "conservative" news station that at one time was a good alternative to the other "liberal" news stations, and then slowly, almost imperceptibly, they slid in sex and violence. They began to justify acts because the ends justified the means. I saw that this had spread into other conservative media as well. All of the talk was about the "evil" and "stupid" liberals, and how all of our problems were because of them. Fox News started promoting the Iraq War and fostering the idea that preemptive strikes were not only acceptable, they were necessary for our safety.
When I first heard about Ron Paul, I liked very much what he had to say... except for his foreign policy (sound familiar?). Yet, after a couple months of soul searching and independent researching, I finally overcame my programming to realize that Ron Paul was correct, and that the mindset that has taken over many of the conservatives and, sadly, the Christian church in America is leading us to destruction.
We need to unplug ourselves from this programming. Encourage everyone you know to stop watching Fox News. This is not an issue of revenge. In fact, my thoughts on this started well before I actually encountered Ron Paul. This goes far deeper than a single candidate or election. There is a movement, whether by a man made conspiracy or by the hand of Satan himself, to destroy our values and our principles and enslave us to hatred and sex so that we can no longer see clearly the injustices and evil they do before our very eyes.
In fact, we need to expand this beyond Fox News. This disease has spread throughout America in various forms. When choosing what we will watch or listen to, we should seriously consider the Biblical recommendation:
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
If we do this, I believe that we will find there is much that does not qualify in today's world. Fortunately, Ron Paul's campaign definitely does.
Promote peace, unity, liberty, and justice. May lies fall upon deaf ears.
[Edit for clarity of purpose]
There is far more to the Ron Paul Revolution than a political campaign. This is literally taking our country (heart, mind, and soul) back from the forces of evil that have tried to destroy her. If this revolution never touches the heart and remains solely in the political realm, it is doomed to fail. Only by changing hearts and minds can we save our country. This is why organizations like Fox News must be opposed by no longer exposing ourselves to it.

Once I was blind, but now I see--
Thank you for this post. I am an older person and have known for YEARS about the New World Order, Federal Reserve and even Dr. Paul! I have known and admired his strict adherence to the Constitution.
I, too, used to watch Fox News and a few years ago they did seem to be more "fair and balanced" Did the change come about after Rupert Murdoch purchased Fox? Or was I just not paying attention before?
For quite a few years now I have known when there is a murder story that the Old Media reports on ad nauseaum, that there are shenanigans going on in D.C. with serious consequences for our Liberty! If they can keep us focused on the murder and gore they report on, we won't SEE what our congress and president are doing to us!
Listening to Dr. Paul is quite an education, and I really didn't understand about the Iraq war and our need to get out of Iraq and elsewhere on the globe. Now it is plain as day. If we don't bring our troops home this country is GOING DOWN!
Do more than boycott
Let the FCC know how you feel. Maybe they won't get their licenses to broadcast renewed if we complain enough...

Beyond the Campaign
I changed the title as it appears people were thinking this just a continuation of the typical boycott talk. This goes far beyond Ron Paul, but is part of the greater revolution that Ron Paul has started that has the potential to sweep across the nation.

Thanks,
By the way, I couldn't agree more with your post. While I don't regularly attend church and I have my own closly held beliefs I do believe that the current media is only interested in making money by selling sex. Not that I'm a prude or anything but good manners and good taste would dictate that they don't bombard us with a constant litany sexually charged material. These folks demaguoge the issues behinda the sex. Sex sells. I already know how to do it as does my wife. I don't need a constant barrage of it on a supposed "News" show to make me feel better or more like a man. Reject the message. It's not even close to what this world is all about.
Thanks,
Dave

We Just want Fair Coverage
Calm down people, Fox News will accept Ron Paul IF
My question is how can any rational person not understand that if Ron Paul defeats any frontrunner candidate in Iowa he will have to be included in Fox's news debate?
The latest Des Moines register newspaper poll shows Ron polling at 9%.
Giuliani polls at 5%
Thompson polls at 9%
McCain polls at 13%
Do you guys seriously believe if Ron Paul beats any of these candidates (or in my opinion, all three are beatable), Fox News will not be forced to include Ron Paul in their debate?
A voting WIN trumps any POLL out there by a large margin. Just as its starting to make news with other media that Ron Paul is excluded, can you imagine the media pressure on Fox if Ron Paul beats 2-3 "top tier" candidates and still isn't let in to debate?
Fox news may be a a little bit stupid, but they aren't complete morons to have all the media, AND republicans, AND New Hampshirians against them should Ron Paul perform that well in the Iowa Caucus.

You misunderstand me completely if you think this boycott is a result of their actions against Ron Paul. This goes much, much deeper than that. Fox News is a terrible organization that is systematically destroying the moral fabric of our country. There is a cancer growing in this nation that you can see if you open your eyes. We are being divided: Democrats vs Republicans, rich vs poor, black vs white, conservative vs liberal, us vs them (currently Arabs).
We are also being distracted by sex and violence away from the real activities going on in our country. Why do you think that the efforts toward the NAU have gone virtually unnoticed, or that civil liberties are being taken away without most people even realizing it?
There is far more to the Ron Paul Revolution than a political campaign. This is literally taking our country (heart, mind, and soul) back from the forces of evil that have tried to destroy her. If this revolution never touches the heart and remains solely in the political realm, it is doomed to fail. Only by changing hearts and minds can we save our country.
Bible
I was happy to see that bible verse! It is my favorite verse from the whole bible, it has been for many many years.
Thanks.
Boycott
Boycott their stock too! Send this info on to everyone you know that may own this stock. We are causing their stock to drop and we must keep up the building momentum.

Don't forget ABC
Amen
I couldn't agree more.
indeed
there once was a time when wide reading of one person's words could change the world. Lets get our friends at Google to have this be the #1 search result for Fox News.
don't forget to add.....
Don't forget to add DirecTV to your list, wholly owned by R. Murdoch, AKA Fox Newsdata Corp.
great post
i had noticed the same decline in morals
I agree but we should also
I agree but we should also do it out of principle. It will show the news media's what will happen when they piss off over 200k+ people in this country. We all know the only conservative running is Ron Paul its just sad with idiots like fox no one knows about him. I wonder what is so wrong with getting rid of the irs and peace?
Principles -- Exactly my point
This goes beyond Ron Paul, though certainly that is enough reason as well. However, Ron Paul's exclusion is only the latest symptom of a far deeper and far reaching problem. Long after this campaign is over, the inherent problems in Fox News and other related media will remain. We need to be vigilant to protect our minds from those who would lead us astray. It was a lack of vigilance that has brought us to where we are today -- in desperate need for a candidate like Ron Paul.
Remember that we had a similar revolution in 1994 with the new Republican congress, but within just a couple years, they too were lost to corruption and greed. In order for this revolution to last, we need an awakening in our culture to value those things that are honorable and abolish lies.
