Are Ron Paul supporters just a bunch of bored College kids?

Have you heard the MSM constantly refer to us as essentially a bunch of college kids? I am a college kid and I don't think the supporters are that badly skewed. The implication in calling us Youthful is two fold. First, they are trying to suggest that we won't vote anyway because of about 50,000,000 college aged people last election, about 7,000,000 voted. Secondly, they are trying to say that we are full of energy but that alone has propelled our rise. They seem content to believe the same 100 people are greeting Hannity, Giuliani, hell, everyone in media and politics, with Ron Paul Signs. It's just like those WTO riots that happen every couple years. 200,000 people show up and they act as though there isn't a movement towards, and against fascism in this country. Then again, we allowed the enemy to consolidate and buy all the media outlets in the US so I'm not surprised. Thank God for the Internet.

I saw a sign the other day that said: Vote Ron Paul and win a free country. :)

Okay I just made a poll for this. Thanks for the suggestion!

But that's not the point. It's not their age, it's their attitudes. Most RP supporters are clearly youngish and I think most are fairly socially liberal. Most posters here seem to be either liberals, liberal independents or fairly liberal Republicans, at least socially liberal. People who are socially conservative see that many RP supporters are, if not socially liberal, then they're not conservative; they see that we are often young, and assume that young people don't understand why culture and private conduct affects EVERYTHING -- just affects things slowly over a long period of time. They think Pat B. was correct about the culture war and so do I but I think at this stage the only hope for social conservatives is a fiscally and constitutionally conservative candidate. The very reason the left has won so much on the cultural front is because govt has been huge and has had it's finger in every pie including de-Christianizing us deliberately (if you think that is good, ask yourself why the govt would do that?? because de-Christianized people are easier to control) - THAT'S why Noam Chomsky hates and fears Ron Paul and why he is right to - real genuine freedom is the only thing that will stop the US turning into Holland or Britain and BraveNewWorlding us. You may not like Christians but try living in a country where everyone is an atheist. It's not good. But so few Americans travel, they don't know this. This is one reason they are not voting RP - older conservatives -- imo.

That's my 2 cents.

You should change the title

You should change the title and do another post. I almost didn't read this one and I love the poll! Let's get at least a couple thousand to answer.

"Bored college kids?"

Are Ron Paul supporters bored college kids?

No. we come in all ages, sizes, colors, levels of income and education, and points on the political spectrum.

We are Americans who want to restore our Country's Constitution, its bill of Rights, and the America that the Founding Fathers had in mind when Ben Franklin replied "A republic, if you can keep it" to a curious questioner after the Constitutional Convention submitted the new document for ratification to the several sovereign states.

We want peace, prosperity, and freedom, for ourselves and for our country, and we want a candidate who will give us the chance to get it!! Ron Paul is that man. That is certainly NOT boring.

For bored college kids (and others), go to supporters of the so-called mainstream candidates, both Democrat and Republican. They are so boring and interchangable, they are each pathetic, stupid, and useless, churned out by Madison Ave like so many cookies on a cookie cutter, when they are not being sinister (like Hillary and Giuliani).

PEACE AND FREEDOM!!

I fit the demographic but..

I am 24. Out of college. Work full time and just got married.

I've never voted or have even considered it until now. Ron Paul has my vote in North Dakota!

Well

I replied first & from the looks of the answers , the median age supporter is not in the college age group. HAHAHA! I really want the MSM to have to eat a lot of crow.

Plus, maybe a lot of the college kids are waking up to the fact that this country is really screwed up & they need to help fix the problem they will eventually inherit. I have been talking about that with my kids ---17 & 11. They both know that they will have to be a part of the solution in not too many years.

36 years old

... And I've been listening to RP for 3 years now. I've been very moderate to liberal on many issues in the past. I have found myself reading and learning about the world in a much different light now that the information age of the internet has exposed us all to how things really work. We all know money is power (for now).
Absolute power is the end game. Propaganda is king. And yes, governments have killed more people than all the disease, famines, acts of nature combined.

Sleepwalk no more. Read, live and learn.

Yes, I'm a 43 Year Old, Married Father of Four and...

I'm ready to go back to College and get a masters in economics and constitutional law. Does anyone know where I can go to major in Austrian Economics and Ron Paul Constitutional Law?

Is there such a place? I'm ready to go......

Thank you Ron Paul.

Well, I sure as heck would

Well, I sure as heck would hope that young people would support Dr. Paul. Look at the mess that they will inherit if something doesn't change! In fact, unless you plan on expiring before the end of 2008, it would greatly behoove you to hitch your wagon to this star.

Everything in Dr. Paul's platform is related. The war could not be funded without deceptive banking practices and borrowing from overseas. The domestic welfare lulls the citizens into apathy, and the fear mongering federal government tries to keep us scared of everything from aspirin to Arabs, and then tells us that they will be the ones to take care of us.

If we truly had to foot the bill for this war, this year, with all of our sacrifices, and not just borrow and print and let our children pay for it, there would be blood in our own streets from our own violent overthrow of these goons. It is absolutely the most amoral concept in the world to let our children and grandchildren pay for our own fears and greed!

Thank you college students and everyone else here who cares about the future of this great nation!

By The Way

I am a 33 year old professional in the service industry (I manage the largest pest control company in Albuquerque, NM) I have a 2 yr degree, married with two children that know the meaning of sovereignty, active in the LDS church and so pleased to be associated with all of you fine folk here. I know we don't agree on everything, thank goodness for that, but I know that we all are fighting for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

As long as you are 18

and can vote, who cares? A college kids vote counts just as much as my 34 year old vote, and a 60 year olds vote.

Why the media does what it does.

I think many of you have noticed that the media always uses psychology to attack those it deems "unworthy". First RP was a nobody, someone to laugh at. Now RP is a contender, but a fringe candidate. Here you see an attempt to pit old people against young people psychologically. This is an attempt to make you ANGRY.

Our society has "taught" us that young people don't know anything, and older people have had enough "life experience" to be wiser than the young. Oh yea, and old people are "mean spirited" geezers that should be put out of their misery. This is the kind of negative programming our society spawns. The media through this kind of crap - means to take advantage of this negative programming. Luckily - there are those of us who don't buy any of this nonsense.

Its psychological warfare, and I am dead serious. Divide and conquer, divide and confuse, divide at any cost - for they fear a UNITED public against THEM. It is a war, and those are their tactics. If they can get you distracted from uniting around truth and push you into a negative emotional state - which clouds rational thought - they win.

I know in some ways that sounds a bit extreme, but if you knew the people who ran the media - it would be equally shocking I assure you.

wow, very well said :)

I AM going back to university for continued degree work.....but I am 35 years old, my wife is a 34 year old teacher. One of my favorite "converts" (I am counting on) is a 90 year old grandfather in Michigan.

32 Year Old CTO

I have exited 3 businesses successfully, and I currently am a CTO at a well-funded company in Manhattan. I've been an LRC reader for 7 years now, and I wrote to Ron Paul every week before the 2004 elections trying to get him to run then.

This r3VOLution is a long time coming, and I know a change is gonna come.

Freedom isn't something for college kids, exclusively, but it sure is great to see that the government's indoctrination didn't take very well in school. For this, I' actually heartened to see college kids thumbing their noses at a system that threatens to exclude them should they not cave in and jump on the fascist-socialist bandwagon.

First election I will be able to participate in. I feel so fortunate that Dr. Paul is running or I wouldn't care at all about this election except to perhaps continue on blindly. Ron Paul has opened my eyes to all the wrong in our government and I am so glad that I have this chance to help him fight for freedom.

For liberty and freedom!
