Debate Questions
I'm sure we have all been thinking about what questions may be thrown out at the next debate...particularily any designed to trip up Ron (not that he can be tripped up) The democrats are all hitting the domestic hotbuttons. Many are coming out with health care plans (not really plans...more like empty campaign promises). Health Care plans may well come up during the debate. Problem is that laying a "new" plan on top of a broken health care system can only proliferate the same problems. As Ron Paul knows, root problems have to be addressed.
Democratic candidates are hitting the domestic hot buttons. Health Care always works. Will voters remember that the candidates never produce...they just promise. Will they realize that this new wave (particularly from the democrat candidates) to address domestic problems in a toothless way is safe as they can later say Congress blocked them. Some candidates are hitting these domestic issues in clever meaningless ways...anything to avoid taking a real stand on the war machine.
Most health care plans formulated and put forward at this point in our sordid government history will only incorporate the pharmaceuticals, the FDA, the insurance companies...all corrupt beyond belief. More mandated and untested vaccinations that are increasingly being proven to be harmful...more drugs that kill rather than save...more insurance red-tape...more despicable hospital tragedies.
Further, any talk about the corporations picking up more of the tab as they did in what now seems the far-distant past will backfire in this way: One, any additional benefits costs will further hiring temporaries with no benefits and proliferate outsourcing. Plus, the huge and increasing base of individuals downsized and working in temporary positions, home and small businesses are a growing proportion of the uninsured or underinsured....people who never thought they would be in a position of no longer being able to afford health care. And, then on top of that there is the homeless and unemployed...the returning maimed veterans, the increasing number of mentally impaired due to environmental and pharmaceutical atrocities. New wine into old skins just ruins the new wine. Every time.
Point: Is there a doctor in the house? Yes there is. And, he knows how broken the system is and would never back yet more inefficient, self-serving agencies and investigative committees with pharmaceutical, insurance and FDA spokespersons on the boards. Nor would he stand by while huge healthcare plans and bills are put in place with "hidden agendas" to satisfy lobbyists looking for payback for their contributions. We can be assured that any plan now being put forward (ie Hillary's) will benefit many entities before it even approaches help for those it is pretending to help.
I do not know how Ron Paul will answer this inevitable question at the next debate and, yes, they will throw at him questions that can hardly be answered with a sound byte....questions where is has not articulated a plan....yet has repeatedly taken a stand on in Congress. As it stands, the only legislature that has taken place so far benefits those who together broke the system and legally removes them from any responsibility for wrong doing. Right now the only hope for many of us is to not get sick and, yet, Congress continues to work hard to take away vitamin supplements, natural approaches etc. Here, in California it was recently demonstrated that more care and money are spent trying to guide a whale to saltwater in order to save its life...than is expended on humans equally in dangerous water as far as their health. I think Ron Paul's best bet is to cite the amount of money being spent on this hateful war and other areas of huge waste and point out what could be done with that kind of money to save lives rather than destroy them. Meanwhile cite his courageous stand against pharmaceuticals, insurance companies and lobbyists. That he has never taken money for junkets...that lobbyists don't even come to see him is huge and needs to get out there. Ron Paul...the only candidate who has not been compromised by lobbyists!
