AP's 'Candidates on the Issues' Excludes Ron Paul

Thanks to Rahn in Florida for pointing this out. He saw this graphic on the Palm Beach Post Politics page, provided by the Associated Press:

AP - Candidates on the Issues.

Note that Ron Paul is excluded. Rahn says he has emailed both the AP & the Post several times, with no response, and says, "maybe they need to hear from more than just me."

Yup, I agree! The AP's contact page indicates that the general email for just about everything is: info@ap.org. They must get a lot of emai! I suggest a subject line of something like "Ron Paul Excluded from AP's Candidates on the Issues."

A few hundred emails ought to wake them up! Be nice. Rahn says,

We are having a big VIP meet and greet with Dr. Paul on Sept. 17th followed by a big rally at Las Olas Riverwalk in Ft. Lauderdale. It would be a shame to generate interest only to have them stumped by the papers coverage.

Thank you, Rahn.

I have written an email in advance asking for an explanation, and will report back with the AP's response.

AP is biased

Remember, AP is the one who did that 'party crashing' article but then never followed up on the fact that Ron was not crashing anyone's party and he ended up with twice as many people at his own party.

The AP is the most evil and insidious of all the news wire orgs.

7/8 candidates listed

It looks like they made this before Thompson officially announced because he isn't included.

This is ridiculous because of the eight people running for the nomination of the Republican party, they include seven, but leave one off.

My AP inquiry

I requested that someone on the AP staff respond to the emails in general. I am sure they are receiving a lot from all of Dr. Paul's supporters. I took the "it was either an unfortunate oversight, or blatant omission" angle... we'll see if they send me a response. I'll keep you posted.

WILDFIRE..

Folks,
I just wanted to let you fellow Ron Paul Supporters know.... I have had 2 people who I know come up to me and say they are going to support Ron Paul for president.. I didn't even have the chance to tell them about him..
Also once people get the message they go to Ron like a Fish to water! i have a good friend who has his whole family voting for Ron now and that wasn't an easy thing to get done since they come from liberal backgrounds. His message is getting threw.. keep telling your friends to look him up and the youtube videos of Ron Paul help greatly!

candidates on the issues

Just sent my email to AP.. hope they respond and reconsider!

Totally sick of this - time to document

I'm totally sick of this. Name recognition is a big part of the campaign at this point. I think it's time to document all the MSM "exclusion" at this point and inform people. It could be a powerful selling point: "Why is the mainstream media trying to hide THIS candidate from you?" Then we just point to the instances of ABC, MSNBC, FNC, AP, etc... keep a running list of all the polls/features he's been excluded from.

If anyone has any archived "exclusions" let me know - I'll start keeping a list.

It is going to be a long list !

.
It is more than the media, it is the CFR too. Most all of the major power brokers, top reporters, editors and owners of the media are "made guys" in the Council on Foreign relations. It is an insidious "old boys'" club. They will continue to marginalize Dr. Paul because he is a threat to their agenda: the continued destabilization of the U.S., the end to its sovereignty and, eventually, a one world government.

Going back to 1921, the same group of men who established the FED also established the CFR. They steered us into the UN, the WTO, GATT, NAFDA and, now possibly, the North American Union (the likely merger of the U.S., Canada and Mexico). As of today, the dollar is way down, Mexican trucks are rolling into the heartland, we have 12 million illegal aliens and our borders remain open. All of this is no accident.

Most of the candidates are members: Romney, Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, Clinton, Obama, Edwards and Joe Biden. Add to the list: Mike Wallace, Chris Wallace, Diane Sawyer, General Petraeus, George Bush I, II, Dick Cheney (who was formerly a director), David Rockefeller and 1,000 more.

The media were disabled long ago, they have capitulated. Now and then there will be a small, fairly positive piece, about Dr. Paul, but this is an illusion to give the impression of fairness. Meanwhile Obama and Fred Thompson (and others) receive major attention every day.

Instead of keeping a list of the news organizations, start spreading the word about the CFR and how it is the force that truly governs the United States. And, if you want to dig deeper, you can also learn about its connections to other, similar organizations: The Tavistock Institute, The Royal Institution for International Affairs and the Aspen Institute. They are powerful, sinister and, for the most part, secret. By exposing these powerful organizations and their agenda would have more impact than keeping a list of puppets.

Right on ZenPiper

Way to go Zen.......at least us Ron Paul supporters are waking up to the reckless nature of our so called leaders. All these "behind the scene" organizations actually craft policies and steer them through our esteemed Congress, along with a lot of sugar and spices as party favors. I like to point out a fundamental misdirection of the Constitution that has basically allowed all of this phoney business to thrive. The Constitution calls for each US Senator to be "SELECTED" by each State's legislature. This meant that they couldn't be bought by out of State influence and money. This was quietly changed, with little fanfare with the Amendment 17, way back in 1913 to "ELECT" from each State's populace. I know this sounds a little trite, but consider the implications. The old way, the Senate was a real stumbling block to the elitists, because the Senators were held accountable to the home State legislators only - who didn't belong to the Washington crowd. So they were much less likely to buy a pig in a poke. With Amendment 17, US Senators became, as one RP writer says, "made men". Guess what happened later that very same year, 1913, you guessed it......creation of the Federal Reserve! States lost all say so in Federal Government. Folks, that ain't the way it's supposed to be, and we've had a freightrain from hell ever since.

I couldn't find this table except through your direct link

Please describe where to locate the table and the story attached. If I can't easily locate it then I do not think this is important enough to send them an email. The table could be old and out of date.

I just emailed them

I wrote:

Why doesn't your "Candidates on the Issues" page feature Ron Paul?

He wins or places highly in every post-debate poll, he wins straw polls like Dale Earnhardt wins NASCAR races, and he has more money in his campaign war chest than John McCain. It's absolutely ridiculous that you didn't list his positions. Please fix this immediately, or you will lose the small remaining amount of credibility you have in this reader's mind.

The Nasty AP

.
For pure propaganda, AP is right up there with FOX. You can send them emails all day long and they just laugh and delete them.

About the only independent news agency that gets it right much of the time is Reuters.

Not Fair

The AP did a great story on him last week that was printed all over the place. Keep in mind that the AP is a big entity, just like most media companies, and that many different individuals work there, many of whom may be very fair-minded. Respect the individual.

IMissLiberty

Yes, the Rooftop Story

.
For every 10 stories AP does about Dr. Paul, one has a slightly favorable cast. This is to give the illusion of fairness. If you mean the Brooklyn rooftop story, it was pretty good. But did it mention Dr. Paul's ideas, or opposition to the war? Not really. It was about his supporters, which is good. But nothing of any substance. If you do a search on the AP site: (www.ap.org/) you won't find much about Dr. Paul. You will find a great deal about Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Obama and others.

It is a very biased organization, as are virtually all of the mainstream media. They get phone calls from the administration; and, if they don't play ball, access is denied. It's been that way for a long time.

Though Helen Thomas is not AP, she has been in the White House Press corps since the 1960s. She always sat in the front row and got to ask the first question. When she wrote that Bush is our worst president, Ms. Thomas was re-assigned to the 3rd row and was not allowed to ask anything. The AP, and the others, are lapdogs. They want good seats, access to the nice buffet and to get a pat on the head for writing nice stories.

This is not what Jefferson had in mind when he talked about a free press. Too bad.

Fred

Thompson also isn't on the list...no Gravel, either. Looks like an outdated list.
