Constitution Man #1: Will Ron Paul Take South Carolina?

[Setting:]

Vinnie and Casey are best friends. They’ve hung out since the age of five when Vinnie’s house got foreclosed and his parents had to downsize their life considerably. Rather than try to live on less in a better place with less crime, Vinnie’s dad took a job back home in the Bronx and also in order to take care of Vinnie’s grandmother. Vinnie’s parents were divorced at that time and needless to say being a white kid in a predominantly black neighborhood can be just as bad sometimes as being a black kid in the same situation.
It was a week before the South Carolina Primary republican primary.

[Vinnie:]

“I wish the people would follow the constitution…

We need a Superhero! ‘Constitution Man.’

Ron Paul in a suit!

People could use a little inspiration at a time like this…

Imagine it!

He would say:

With liberty... and justice for ALL!

…and fly off!

[Angela:]

“Maybe that’s how the word ‘Dangerous’ is born?”

[Vinnie:]

“Yes! He is dangerous to the enemies of the people!”

Angela just got her license. The crew was enjoying a lot more Liberty than any of them had had in their life. It was because of this and leading up to it hearing about the Constitution in Mrs. Zacharia’s class was very scary. She didn’t try to get into any fear mongering tactics. She was quite matter of fact-ly as the class read the bills aloud each day.

The kids never really got through each one before the Congress was passing it, so usually Mrs. Zacharia would give each class member one question they had to answer for homework. It seemed the class learned more searching for that one answer each than had she given the class an entire assignment.

[Casey:]

Like a cartoon or an animation?”

Casey was a scrappy kid. He was justified, probably took on a little too much justice sometimes as many of his scrapes and bruises of honor would attest to, usually defending Vinnie. Vinnie was getting a little more politically correct since getting involved with Ron Paul’s campaign so Casey bruises from the last rescue were almost gone.

Vinnie and Casey would get in a fight and scrap it up at least once or twice per year. Vinnie would always lose but Casey would always look worse for the wear. One time they didn’t talk to each other for a full two weeks! The gang was getting along great lately. It probably due to the distraction with all their campaigning at school. They made a really great team!

The gang couldn’t figure out why the other kids weren’t for Ron Paul. They just didn’t do their home work. Then they would get mad because they couldn’t get the questions right in Liberty class. It was almost as uniting as the cause of Liberty itself because one of the gang usually knew the answers to one of other kids questions. They were the Ron Paul gang!

[Vinnie:]

Yeah!”

[Angela:]

“That will be very funny!”

[Vinnie:]

“But his kryptonite is the main stream media.”

[Cassie:]

“Dude, you’re on to something… a comic book.”

[Angela:]

“Ron Paul is a real hero just like that!”

[Vinnie:]

“So he needs help from his supporters when there's any kryptonite around.

We the People!”

[Arnie:]

“People love comics, and most of all, average people can understand the issues that way.”

Arnie was 17, was a great friend but he had his own things to do usually and was sometimes around if his “fellas” needed him, sometimes not so much.

[Casey:]

“You are right! So right!”

[Arnie:]

“ After people read the comic book, they would be like: ‘I GET IT!’”

[Angela:]

“Light bulb…”

[Vinnie:]

“We gotta save Constitution Man!

Or he won't ever be able to save us again!”

[Casey:]

“We need a comic book artist anyone know one?”

[Vinnie:]

“I know if I saw the pictures I could write up a good script.”

[Angela:]

“I am happy for Ron Paul and this movement, but I am sad because so many Americans don’t get it yet. I hope we won’t be too late.”

[Vinnie:]

“We’re going to save Constitution Man!”

[Arnie:]

“Where can we do this?

Like a post on Daily Paul or contact the campaign or what?”

[Angela:]

“Maybe Marty would do it?”

Marty was the old man at the convenience store by school. He had a huge comic book store. Every one of the gang had to have a superhero growing up. Angela was adamant about not reading anything which had a female as a sidekick because she had a big women’s equality thing going on. The boys of course would tease her about that saying “Why should women be more equal than men?” and then the debate would rage on. It was three against one, so sometimes Casey would break the Man code and defend her even though the boys knew she was wrong. It’s not like she couldn’t take the three of them put together and she definitely wouldn’t tire of it before they did so they usually lost the debate after they forgot what they were debating about.

[Vinnie:]

“Lemme copy that down...hehe”

Vinnie never left home without his notebook.

[Angela:]

“I used to live in SC and my parents voted…”

[Boys chorus:]

“…in EVERY election”

They had only heard that a few hundred times.
