HOW THEY DID IT
ronpaulforums com
From one of the meetups in Jefferson County.
Few people in Jeff. Co. read the Des Moines Register so ad buys there hardly reach the rural folk at all. The small local papers have very little political advertising and would love to have the business. It is CHEAP. We had an ad in the weekly paper 8 column inches for $55 a week for 13 weeks straight. And change the ad every week. We ran larger ads in the daily paper as well.
We ran a letter size, 2 sided newspaper insert - RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP way to reach 2500 people - cheaper than direct mail. An insert cost us $150 to reach 2500 plus $120 for photocopying or under 11 cents per household. These locally orientated messages are way more effective than direct mail.

Jefferson County Iowa is the Conscience of America
Posted January 4th, 2008 by ronstheman
And Jefferson County Iowa will always be remembered as the beginning of the Ron Paul Presidency. On to New Hampshire and beyond...
Thank you, thank you, thank
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Thank you for posting this, as this is great news. Folks, you need to take a look at that county by county map, if you haven't done so.There are a lot of counties were Dr Paul did some very high numbers, numbers that would really make anyone feel good such as, 17%, 20%, 21%
As someone said earlier, the most rural corn growing parts of the state pulled him down. The Chicago side of the state is where Romney won and Paul did very well.
I'm leaving in a few hours to head up to NH, and seeing this has me pumped up.
Keep this message on top.
Farm subsidies
Ethanol and other farm welfare queens wouldn't vote for him. I'm sure that held down totals too
420 haha. sure its not 419, got a minute?
ron paul 2008
maybe the 420 girls
...got some voters to turn out ;-)
Thank you Jefferson County! Thank you Iowa voters!
I find it kind of neat and a little foreboding that Ron Paul won in a county called "Jefferson", of all names. Is this a sign?
I also find it funny that Obama won in 'Clinton County', but I digress...
check out the maps
This one from the NY Times
http://politics.nytimes.c...
Check out all the options for viewing the data (very nice)
Also note that only the "Top Three" are listed in the details
(Huck, Rhomboid, and Dr. Paul...)
TommieBoy and MacCain (the all-meat weiner) are lumped in the "other"
along with BrotherAlanKeyes.
Very nice!
His win - literally - put him on the map.
Thank you!
Thank you!
This is great news
We can win!!!!
We're meeting for breakfast then canvassing in Seattle on Saturday!
Get off of your asses (if you haven't already, or double your efforts if you have) this is it! House to house, trench warfare campaigning to save this country! No activity has near the effect of a well-meaning, hard working, smiling volunteer hand delivering a brochure and saying 'Please read this'
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy
I don't want my sons to have to fight so I am going door to door.
Yes!
House to house trench warfare it is. Out of all comfort zones, people. There's all your countrymen and women to save. Even from themselves.
