RINOs have taken over the party.

Only one Republican exist in todays political realm.

The party has been usurped.

One man stands in the way of the total loss of our founding ideology.

Change is on the loose.

The horizontal political scale
/--------------------.---------------------/

Left is change.
Center dot is status quo.
Right end is the founding idiology

Conservative, com servare, to preserve; "to protect from loss or harm" the founding ideolgy.

The RINOs are left of center, neocons.
The Democrats are running a left wing radical platform accross the board.

horizontal political scale

time to divorce this mainstream horizontal political scale and use the circular 'Nolan Chart'!!!

they all blend like a spaguetti bowl

hillary,obama,huckabee,mccain,romney...they are all one big party, they are all the same.

Yes,

all are left of center supporting more change away from the founding ideology.

i dont think they are left or right or center (cold war speak)

they want an empire, not a republic. The "left, right, center" coldwar-speak doesn't work anymore in 2008, it is way more complicated and complex than that

The far right and the far left have merged into the FAR OUT.

Only Dr Paul is the voice of truth and reason.

Dr Paul

Is the far right. You should turn your TV off.

Trying to beat the system

We are trying to beat the system. The delegate system at the moment. I am beginning to understand the power of the state GOPs and how their nominating process works. (I imagine the end result is not much different in the Democratic Party). The best we can do is garner as many at large delegates possible, because most of the delegates that hold office are not going to support Ron Paul, not even if 90% of the people want him. They have their cushy governorships, etc. and don't care about those that pay their salaries and pension plans. They want us to keep paying for it, and support for Ron Paul would destroy their cushy positions. So, we need to make a long term commitment to change the types of people that make up the GOP nominating body (by getting ourselves involved, inserted, and active in our local GOP related bodies). There's one thing I noticed at the Iowa caucuses: lack of life. In monotone, if you please: "We will now nominate our precinct director. Do I hear any nominations?"
Answer (after long pause): "We'll nominate you again."
Director: "Why thank you. Now, do I hear any nominations for a second? [crickets chirpping] Ok, well we can do that at another meeting."
I mean, this was at Des Moines! (The CNN feed).
Blah, I say. Go to one of their dull meetings, and you can nominate a pro-Constitution friend of yours or have him nominate you. And maybe even change things so that representation of the people is not unusual.

People,

are uneducated.

I bet many on this forum dont understand the horizontal political scales meaning, how to interpret it, or to use it.

Well, if you know

could you enlighten us? Knowledge is power, and those here that know what the system is really about would do a great service in teaching us. We need to find the soft spot, and hone in, even if it takes time more than this one election cycle.
I must admit, phrases such as "horizontal political scales" baffle me. It's jargon for something with which I am not familiar. I'm not of a low IQ, I am just not a political animal.

I would like..

To see Dr Paul drop the RINO bomb at the debate.

Understand what was said,

"I challenge them on their conservatism." I am shure you are aware of the context.

I am

a right wing Republican.

First the MSM made it a dirty word. The neocons then made thier move taking full advantage of a poorly educated public.

This is what is known as the "two party farce".

Exscuse my stoopidity, but

Excuse my stoopidity, but what is a RINO?

I see this term used on firearm forums quite a bit.

Thanks.

It's meaning depends on who you disagree with

It's meant as a slur among Republicans. Roughly translated, it's directed at someone who is believed to not be acting in the interests of the propagation of the party. If you are for the Old Right, you think the neocons are taking us down a destructive path. If you are a neocon, you think the Ron Paul people are an aberration. It's often thrown around when someone votes - gasp - their conscience instead of with the party.

I disagree,

Words have meanings, definitions. "What the definition of is, is."

The scale is a tool to be used to end such diatribe.

Republican doesn't mean conservative

R & D is red team and blue team. The platforms they adopt are just tools to get as many of their people in power as possible. The platforms can morph.

I am glad your here,

Use the scale. Use your dictionary. Listen to what the candidates say. Place their planks on a scale, and weigh their location to apply the proper political term to their placement on the scale.

"Republican in Name Only"

"Republican in Name Only"

Thanks Jim. From the firearm

Thanks Jim. From the firearm references I have seen to RINO, this definition/acronym seems to be what those folks are thinking.

Some people,

probably asume they are talking about big game hunting.
