Fuel for the Freedom Fire (A story of how my family joined the Revolution)

Up until a few months ago I did not know about Ron Paul. The only time I ever saw his name was when a friend of a friend posted things about him on Facebook (which I did not bother reading). Then it happened! Sometime starting in November I began to look up Ron Paul videos and soon after found the DP. I have now been addicted to this site for about a month and thought I should make my presence known. My endorsement may not change thousands of minds, but I can gurantee that it has already changed atleast ten minds. I do not claim to be all-knowing or perfect, but I do feel that I understand much of what Ron Paul speaks.

I am nineteen-years-old and I was raised in what most people would call a "Christian Republican" family. We were good people and did what all good people were supposed to do by supporting our country and our God by voting Republican and watching Fox news a couple times a week to stay "educated" on the issues. My first distaste for the "system" began while I was in school. I attended public school until I could not handle it anymore and began homeschooling during middle school. This enabled me to finish school quicker and I believe learn more while being influenced less by those who even I knew were bad influences. The years rolled-on and soon enough I found myself in a Bible/Missionary school. Now for those who are not "religious", this information is merely lead-up for why I agree with Ron Paul. I studied the Bible in-depth for 6 months (read whole Bible, read some books 5 times, studied each book within context) and lived in Chile and Argentina in 2009 and in Egypt in 2011. That experience led me to understand how to research issues and not just believe what is tradition because it is tradition. It also gave me a wonderful understanding of how the world views the United States. It is sickening for me to now look at Egypt and see the distress they are in and how we simply aided and prolonged this downfall.

Upon returning to the country, I began college where I left off and continued to educate myself on Ron Paul and the issues. The more I researched the issues, the more I realized that Ron Paul was not only the most logical choice, but he was the most biblical candidate! I was then shocked to find out that he not only just spoke this message, but he lived it! From then on...I was hooked! Suddenly I realized that there was finally a politician who did not see me as a VOTE, but as an individual. He understands that people are not the same, they make different mistakes, and have different ideas.

I am impacted daily by the decisions of our U.S. Government. My brother dealt with the "War on Drugs" and worked construction (or atleast tried) during the mortgage crisis. My grandpa served in the military in Korea and Vietnam and is concerned over the security of his income. My mom works for a college while also attending college. My siblings are all a part of the workforce and have children that I want to see grow up in a free country. My dad lost his job in December and is currently unemployed for the first time in his life. What I am getting at, is that we are your average U.S. family today and Ron Paul just makes sense to us! My family and I are ashamed at how we have been coerced into believing the government and media are actually trying to help us. We now have stickers, shirts, and signs that help us as we spread the message of freedom to our uninformed or misinformed countrymen. Ron Paul 2012

What a wonderful post

not everyone has had the luxury of studying in other countries. So the learning curve is slower for them.

I've believed for a long time that every pro-bomb Republican (a Rebomblican) should live in that country for a few years while the bombs are falling and be charged with the task of "Spreading Democracy". Opinions would change overnight.

Nice post. Thank you for taking the time to share with the DP. And don't feel bad - we're all Ron addicts on this site just like you.

"My endorsement may not change thousands of minds, but I can gurantee that it has already changed atleast ten minds."

- now just imagine that happened to millions of other individuals with just 10 people within their own circle of friends and family.

that's how the brushfire starts.

thank you for sharing the beginning of your journey that's just begun.

a spark, that damned spark. before you know it, we have a fully restored Republic, then people waking up further to demand that they deal with each other in a more voluntary manner, and before you know it, Human mind and soul are freed.

Hey, if this much happened in just 4yrs, imagine the possibilities...

Predictions in due Time...
