Courage Found

Thank you to the post Give me Liberty or Give me Death by Lisa Street http://www.dailypaul.com/219088/give-me-liberty-or-give-me-d... I have finally gotten the courage to write my Congress as well as subscribe on the Daily Paul. My only regret is that I have only found Dr Paul this past year. Oh how I wish I had been active for him in his past presidential races. This campaign I have been slow to start because I first had to wake up, then I wanted to make sure I believed in Dr. Paul and his vision. And YES, I have and I do! I have begun telling friends and family and even got my husband, mom and 80 year old Pop to vote for him! I am still trying to get them out to the Missouri caucus on on the 17th though! Below is the letter I wrote this morning and sent to my representative and also updated and sent to my senators. I am getting ready to write the president as well. Thank you Daily Paul for being here. I just subscribed with payment!

My Dearest Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, I am extremely concerned as a US Citizen that my rights under the US Constitution Bill of Rights are quickly being eroded for the sake of homeland security. The homeland is no longer secure for US Citizens under (1) the Patriot Act, which permits the executive branch to conduct surveillance and searches of US citizens without satisfying the probable cause requirements of the Fourth Amendment; (2) H. R.1540: National Defense Authorization Act, in opposition to the Sixth Amendment, allows for the military to indefinitely detain without trial any person, citizen or not, on foreign soil or domestic, if deemed a threat; (3) H.R. 347: Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011, under which First Amendment rights have been restricted prohibiting the right to lawfully and peaceably assemble and petition the Government for redress of grievances around government buildings or any government official who is under the protection of the secret service; and (4) still in committee H.R. 3166: The Enemy Expatriation Act, which can strip me of my US Citizenship provided for under the Fourteenth Amendment should I be deemed a threat. The Executive Branch has also assassinated three US Citizens recently because they were determined to be terrorists, without a jury of their peers in a speedy and public trial as guaranteed in the Sixth Amendment. My US Citizenship goes back generations. I don't even know when my forefathers came to this wonderful country. My concern is that someone at sometime can determine that I am a threat for some unknown reason and that I will have no constitutional rights because they have been voted away by Congress and signed away by the Executive Branch. I understand that we must keep our homeland safe, but I do not expect it to be done by invalidating the US Constitution Bill of Rights, which has guaranteed my freedom and safety in this great land for which our kindred have shed their blood to guarantee and secure these certain unalienable rights. Furthermore, I have voted Republican straight ticket most of my life. (Although recently I voted for some Constitutional Party candidates as a protest.) I am seriously concerned as I reviewed that 223 and 227 Republican Congressional Representatives voted Yea. for passage of HR 347 and HR 1540 respectively. Additionally the House of Representative voice vote record was not kept for the Patriot Sunset Extension Act of 2011. I would like to understand why you also voted Yea on the recorded votes of HRs 347 & 1540, and why the voting record was not kept for the Sunset Act. I do not believe this to be a positive representation of my best interests as one of your constituents and a Natural Born Citizen of the United States of America. I see these removal of rights akin to WWII Nazi Germany, except I am not a Jew, just a US Citizen whose rights are being removed leaving me exposed to an unknown dictator in an unsecured future. Needless to say, I am concerned that just voicing my opinion herein, that I, a 48 year old housewife, may be seen as threat to my precious homeland. Sincerely Yours,

My emails with MO state rep Cindy Crawford (R)

First letter
The US Senators and Congressmen that represent Missouri Need to be recalled with a emergency recall that is immediate. The below listed Representatives voted for National Defense Authorization Act. This act declares war on the people of the state of Missouri and the other states in the union. The National Defense Appropriations Act, with Amendment 1031, which allows for the military detention of American citizens. The amendment is so loosely worded that any American citizen could be held without due process. The language of this bill can be read to assure Americans that they can challenge their detention — but most people do not realize what this means: at Guantanamo and in other military prisons, one’s lawyer’s calls are monitored, witnesses for one’s defense are not allowed to testify, and one can be forced into nudity and isolation.
The ones listed below have committed an act of treason to the people of Missouri by voting for this thus the US government has declared war against "We the People". Wit supporting this act they also have committed several felonies under USC title 18. As well as Purging their Oath of Office. Let Missouri take immediate step to recall the listed below Representatives.
The US Constitution does not prohibit the recall of US representatives, Under the 10 amendment Missouri is allowed to recall its US representatives. Especially when they have voted against both the US and Missouri Constitutions.
The Missouri Attorney general should be directed to file criminal charges on the representatives who failed to follow the law.

Montana is in the process of recalling the elected officials who voted for NDAA. From my understanding several other states are considering the same.
Those MO representives who voted for NDAA
Sen. Roy Blunt [R, MO];
Sen. Claire McCaskill [D, MO];
US Congressmen:
Aye MO-2 Akin, W. [R]
Aye MO-3 Carnahan, Russ [D]
Aye MO-4 Hartzler, Vicky [R]
Aye MO-6 Graves, Samuel [R]
Aye MO-8 Emerson, Jo Ann [R]
Aye MO-9 Luetkemeyer, Blaine [R]

Second Letter
I have not heard from you on recall of our US representatives who have broken their Oath of office by voting for NDAA. It make me wonder, do you support NDAA? Do you support the US elected officials who voted for NDAA?

Let Missouri nullify NDAA. Make it a state law that it will be a state criminal felony for any US law enforcement, military, or anyone who attempts to enforce this unconstitutional act be guilty of a class A felony.

Since my last letter the State of Texas as well as Montana are working on recall of the US elected officials who voted for NDAA, as well as several other states are looking into the matter.

We need a fast recall to let our US representatives know the Show me state is not going to stand for such corruption.

Reply from Crawford
I contacted Congresswoman Vicky Hartlzer’s office about the NDAA. This is the information I received from her office:

Considerable misinformation about terrorist detention, interrogation, and prosecution policies contained within H.R. 1540 has been circulated. Contrary to some rumors, this legislation merely requires military custody for foreign terrorists. These provisions only apply to individuals who are part of, or substantially supporting, Al-Qaeda or associated forces and have participated in the course of planning or carrying out an attack, or attempted attack, against the United States or its coalition partners. U.S. citizens are explicitly exempt from this requirement.

This legislation states unequivocally that nothing in this bill shall be construed to affect the existing criminal enforcement and national security authorities of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or any other domestic law enforcement agency. The President also can provide a waiver to holding a detainee in military custody at any time. I am also pleased that this legislation continues the policy of prohibiting the transfer or release of Guantanamo detainees to the United States. It is vital that foreign terrorists bent on waging war against American freedom are treated according to the laws of war, not treated like simple criminals.

3rd letter
Here is Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) talking on the house floor.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/18/ron-paul-lindsey-gr...

Here is the text of the bill
http://democrats.rules.house.gov/112/text/112_hr1540conf_txt...

Section 1021 (page 655) Starting on this page, "covered persons" can includes American citizens. Did Congressman Hartlzer read the bill? This is the major problem is that the term "covered persons" does include America citizens. This may not have been the intent but it does not exclude American citizens.

Please follow up. I now know of three states recalling their federal elected representatives.
MT, TX, and now NJ. Several other states are considering recall of their federal elected representatives. Lets make MO one of them along with State criminal prosecution.
Let's keep the Federal government under control;
Thanks
This last letter sent Jan 18, 2012 As of this time no reply from State congresswoman crawford

Break the paragraphs

I know that Herman Melville and Jane Austen wrote really long sentences and paragraphs, but most Americans don't read at that level.

Break up the paragraphs so that the text is not one lump, and many will find it easier to read (and skim).

Otherwise, great job. Thanks.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Sorry, but to many

it has nothing to do with reading ability "at that level" but rather that they were taught to separate paragraphs to indicate a change in thought. Many have visual limitations and breaking a long stream helps. Also, if one is at work and has phone and "people" interruptions, it saves re-reading to find the last sentence read.
I do agree with your premise, though.

You are right. I wish I had

You are right. I wish I had of done that. Thanks!

Welcome

to the revolution and thank you for your action. Stay strong , stay informed and spread the message.
Above all continue to pray for the fallen country that it finds redemption soon.

Excellent letter - one comment

This is a beautiful letter. I am writing our Governor and congressman re: nullification of NDAA for Arizona...vote to nullify passed the State Senate 21-9.

I'd like to "borrow" some of your letter, if that's o.k.

One comment: I personally don't like the term "homeland".

I am 43 and never heard that word growing up...until 9/11...Homeland Security...

It strikes me as right out of Goose Step Land...aka Nazi Germany.

It strikes me as a term given to "us" by "them"

Why can't we just say/write "Country" instead...?

Yes, Please do

borrow any information you would like from the letter.

I have to agree on the term homeland. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I did not know that I had swallowed that language without even realizing it. Thanks!

That Was GREAT

48 y/o housewife AND grandma here. And I think your wonderful.

Spindale-Rutherford County-North Carolina

I should be a grandmother too, but God didn't grant me children until we had been married nearly 20 years! I am still trying to catch up with them, I am trying not to spoil them since I feel like they are grandchildren, but I cant sent them home LOL. Thank you for replying to my post.

Very Well Done!!!! Good idea

Very Well Done!!!! Good idea to put age/Housewife at the end, shows you are a constiutent. (Spelling) Drag your friends to the caucus, try to become a delegate and DON'T post it here!!

*Wisconsin Constitution* Article I, Section 25 "The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other law-abiding purpose"

Yes,

I was hoping that was not too trite, but I wanted to let them know I am just a regular person who is concerned.

Thank you for your courage!

I am also a 48 year old housewife and have the exact same concerns as you do. I came across one of his videos about 7 months ago, and have never looked back. He had the reasons and solutions to all of the things I knew to be wrong in this country. I spend my days trying to figure out how to support him, as I can't imagine doing anything else right now. It's too important.

Exactly!

Yes, I believe as well, there is nothing more important. We went to a rally Friday night and the crowd was mixed. Young, old, and us in the middle. I think Dr. Paul has wide spread following now that more of us are waking up.

When God is with you, who can stand in opposition to you?

Answer: No one.

.

You are Right!

Yes, I pray daily for God to be with Dr. Paul and that he might have mercy upon our nation and give us a leader who will restore liberty.

Good job. Once you find your courage, you are

a force for good.

Thanks

I also emailed that letter to friends and family to try to get them to see the dire situation we are in. I have it posted on the bulletin board at chuch too. And of course the Ron Paul stickers on our bumper let people know who we are voting for!

Excellent post and letter

The cause need more voices like yours.

Thank you

I think they we are coming along. I had a couple of other 48 year old housewives reply to my post.
