Bull! Not bull
DailyPaul.com
In the late 1990's I worked as a stockbroker during the tremendous late 20th century bull market, but I could tell that something about it was amiss. After researching what really going on – where else, but on the internet? – I realized that the global economy was really nothing more than a giant Ponzi scheme. I stared a financially oriented website called Depression2.tv predicting the second great depression (back in 2001!) which morphed into Bull! Not bull. It was on the forums of that site that I first learned on Ron Paul, and first heard the rumor that he was considering a run for president.
When that rumor was confirmed in early 2007, I immediately set up this website (read more about that here). Honestly, I was a little reluctant to do it. Like nearly everyone these days, between work and family responsibilities, I've got enough on my plate already. And running a website like this is a big responsibility.
But it was very much worth the effort.
Throughout the 2007-2008 presidential campaign, the Daily Paul and the Ron Paul Forums – two independent, completely grassroots websites – were the place to be for the latest breaking, up to the minute news on Dr. Paul’s campaign activities. The tremendous grassroots success of Dr. Paul’s campaign attracted media attention, and earned mentions for the Daily Paul in The Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, Mother Jones, and many other publications. My I Support Ron Paul graphics were used by the official campaign on tens of thousands of T-shirts and buttons.
As a result of my work here, I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Dr. Paul on several occasions during the campaign.

Much to my surprise, following the conclusion of the campaign, the Daily Paul has remained a vibrant online community of like minded people working towards freedom, liberty, and the restoration of our Constitutional republic. Dr. Paul is a true American hero, and indeed, a modern day revolutionary, and the inspiration for us all.
It was George Orwell who said, "In times of universal deceit, speaking the truth is a revolutionary act." Sadly, a period of near universal official deceit is what America now seems to be living through. And Ron Paul is doing the revolutionary - speaking the truth. As simple as it sounds, speaking the truth appears to remain beyond the ability of the leadership that this country has had for a long, long time.
This website nearly died a premature death. After the site was up for a while, not much was happening. It was only after Dr. Paul's eldest grandson, Matt Pyeatt found the site and started blogging here that I became reenergized, others found the site, and interest began to pick up. And after Dr. Paul's tremendous performance in the debates, things really started hopping!
How I Met Ron Paul
I wrote about this in one of this site's first posts, here: How I Met Ron Paul. The short version is that I had known about Dr. Ron Paul since 2002, through my work and research at Depression2.tv. I first saw him one morning on CNBC calling Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan on the carpet for the Fed's Enron-style accounting. It was a display of courage unlike anything I had ever seen in my life. What was so astonishing to me about Dr. Paul's performance was his fearlessness in the face of Greenspan's power. This was at a time when Greenspan was near the height of his power, universally revered as an economic and monetary genius, beyond reproach. (Greenspan was called the "Maestro," a fitting enough title, since he managed to play just about everyone.) When dealing with Greenspan, most politicians would show great deference, bowing to his supposed "superior knowledge," not understanding a word he said, but thanking him profusely and gratuitously for his wisdom.
Not Ron Paul. When it comes to money and our monetary system, Ron Paul knows his stuff. He is certainly one of the most knowledgeable people on the subject, and as a result, he was never afraid to go head to head with the Chairman. For those interested, here is an excellent archive of their verbal exchanges between 1997 - 2005.
While I was originally attracted to Dr. Paul due to his honest and sensible financial position, his views on other subjects - most especially foreign policy - are just as clear. He is unique for being one of the few leaders today with a clear understanding of what has gone wrong with our great nation, and how we can fix it.
For more information on Dr. Paul, I urge you to read his 1988 book "Freedom Under Siege" which is available in its entirely on this website, and of course his best selling book The Revolution, which he wrote during the 2008 presidential campaign.
