A Bad Dream

~~~ wavy dream sequence begins ~~~
Long lost son of Osama Bin Ladin appeared on Al-Jazeera in a video taped confession after this morning's treacherous act of barbarism against the US. UBL Jr. described planting a dirty bomb in backseat of a 77 Ford Pinto.
The Pinto, an icon of American Auto Business at it's peak, was left at a White Castle in downtown Detroit - one of most severely depressed cities in the US. At 9:11 am, the dirty bomb was detonated radiating everything within a 2 mile radius. Several homeless men have been seen leaving the site glowing.
President Bush, now referred to by edict as Supreme Majesty "W", declared martial law in reaction to the Detroit Dirty Bomb; thus postponing the 2008 elections indefinitely. Mike Gravel was not available for comment.
The FBI along with local enforcement began rounding up terror suspects, parking ticket evaders, and Ron Paul supporters in all major US cities today. Suspects were sent to several undisclosed deep underground military bases located throughout the western states.
In other news, Britney Spears was seen driving without her seat belt and eating a Egg McMuffin...
Real Men
I noticed a post at RPF that said something along the lines of 'Real men stay and fight'. Here's my take on it:
Real men protect their family at all costs. We'll continue to fight while we're here, however, we are headed for Ecuador in Dec 08 (friends in region). We'll travel for a year or so and see if the US is worth returning to. If we don't return, we'll continue the fight abroad.
I can only imagine what legislation is sitting idly by waiting for the next 9/11 event here to introduce.
We are not giving up.. we'll work hard over the next year to help awake as many people as possible. We're thankful we have the financial means (trying to diversify as quickly as possible) to make this jump.
Jamaica
We have some land there and recently got a loan to build a house;going to start building while our fiat $ still has some value!.
Stop with the Australia BS!
I have lived here for 14 years. Do not move here.
Email me via my website if you really have your heart set on moving to this socialist country.
Pitty...
I had always been so in love with Australia and wanted to visit at least. Then they took away your guns. Pitty we're next in line for that.
My advice has nothing to do with the government.......
After all, I'm not for an evil socialist gov't anymore than I am for an evil capitalist/socialist one. But I have no control over that.
It has to do with the reality of what is likely to happen based on current events. Austrailia and New Zealand, the LAND is and will be safer than
USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Russia, China, and any country in the Northern hemisphere. One of the interesting things about Nuclear radiation is that it will expand in the flow of the ocean and wind currents. These currents are different , in fact opposite between the different hemispheres of the Earth. Since most of the countries possessing hyrdrogen nuclear ICBM's reside in the north, they will fire these mainly at each other in the event of a world war....... the souther areas of earth (below the equator) will be far less affected by Radiation poisoning than the north, which will be completely infected with radiation in the event of the nuclear war.
That is the main reason I gave the advice I did, I think long term about big issues, not just the next couple of years. I believe this can happen when you have a bunch of insane people with nukes trying to control the world. Better to be safe than sorry.
This may sound a little strange, but........
There may come a time in the future where you decide to leave. I would suggest Australia or New Zeeland ( I hope I did not mis-spell)
There are other better countries now...... but in the event of a larger war...... those countries are not likely to be targeted by nuclear weapons and are english speaking countries. Eventually yes, no place may be safe, but seriously -- there will come a time when you will not be able to leave the USA and that is the truth. I used to be a nationalistic patriotic person. Once I learned the truth about ALOT of things, I have a different outlook
now. I owe loyalty to the good people of this world, not to a country
or its leaders. I was born a citizen of the USA, but as far as I can tell
this country is headed for civil war, sooner rather than later.
The NWO will NEVER give up their evil dream - they are insane, but.....
they are not completely stupid in how they go about it. Obviously,
I hope there can be a different outcome - however once I learned the
truth I made a decision not to be naive or negatively emotional about it
and I suggest you do the same. I hope RP does well during the rest
of this campaign. He is truly a courageous person.
SHUT UP!
SHUT UP! NOW!!
Hey all you pipe dreams!
Hey all you pipe dreams that are only "dreaming" about leaving. Did our forefathers pack up and RUN? NO! They stayed and stood and fought! STOP DREAMING FOOLS! The fight is HERE and NOW! You can not run from the New World Order. They will evenbtually say that terrorist cells exist "WHEREVER" and they will spread fear there! Be it New Zealand, Austrailia, Estonia, Costa Rica - it doesdn't matter! YOU BETTER WAKE UP because you are NOT going anywhere!
Open Invitation from Canada to RP supporters.
We love peace up here!
Costa Rica...great place to live and great place to prosper !!!
Not saying that anyone needs to move here...but I did 23 years ago and it has been the best years of my life.
No military means true peace.
Costa Rica
We plan to move to Costa Rica this year. We want to live in a country which isn't threatening other countries and isn't threatened. We like the concept of no military, low taxes, beautiful weather, kind people and a respect for the environment.
my parents have been saying
my parents have been saying for years that they plan to retire in Costa Rica... cheap, beautiful, good health care... . what area of Costa Rica do you recommend.. its sounding good to me as well :)
What Country? The Free State, of course
which is New Hampshire.
You see, I'm pledged to "Live Free OR Die" through FREE STATE PROJECT (FSP) to migrate to New Hampshire and make it more free. I've already played a role in kicking the BATF out of the state. The state has resisted REAL ID and RFID better than others.
When morning comes, and the vote is fair, Ron Paul will be doing about what we expected. Double digits.
No other libertarian candidate has gotten this prominence at the national level for quite some time, say the better part of a century.
Locally, the picture's a lot better.
Free State Project is about the individual, and the individual's role in making local change. If you follow the triumphs and tribulations of the Libertarian Party, there are a great many local victories, but NONE on the national level. The SOLE EXCEPTION is Ron Paul's role as Congressman, which he alone has been able to pull off as a libertarian-Republican. But locally, show up at a town meeting and you're going to make a difference.
If we can help a national candidate get his ideas out in the national debate, the libertarian cause has moved forward like it never has in over 50 years.
Didn't seem so free to me
Didn't seem so free to me tonight. NH chose taxes and war tonight. I'd rather be in socialist California... at least it is sunny.
Canada first, since it's
Canada first, since it's cheaper to move there. I will only move if Ghouli wins, that was my initial thought, but now I think maybe if any other Republican wins the Presidency. However, if Ron Paul doesn't get the GOP nomination, then I think Obama will win anyways. While I think he will be a disaster, I am sort of contempt with the fact that he is not stupid like Bush, take us out of Iraq war so we don't give our money to Halliburton or whatever the rapists' new company name is, and less corrupt. Then I think maybe, just MAYBE, Americans have some sense. If someone like Ghouli wins, then I won't stay because there is no reason to stay in a country full of idiots.
with our fund raising
with our fund raising power.... buying an island wouldn't be out of the question
I've been thinking about that all night....
We are ORGANIZED. I've read posts suggesting a mass tax boycot, buying up all of the land in northern New Hampshire and then suceeding legally, or like this poster suggests, buying an island somewhere.
We might not make the majority, but we are several million strong and have the passion and resources required to do something big just like this.
I thought you were all nuts when you thought we could buy a blimp - and that was just advertising space. Imagine how much we'd be willing to spend collectively to buy our freedom straight up - rather than through the government.
I just realized that this sounds rather collectivist, doesn't it? I guess that really doesn't even violate libertarianism, as long as its done without force!
I'm building a rocket
and going to the moon. Either that or Fiji.
I AINT LEAVING
I am staying RIGHT HERE. I might go join with the Lakota Sioux Indians for their free independance from the US government. When it comes down to it Gorbachev said he would recognize them as an independant nation. No taxes and very little laws. Everyone is welcome to join them. I wont turn tail and run, I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees.
"I would rather die on my
"I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees."
I still think you have the ability to fight from abroad.
Soon there will be no place on earth
Those who think you will fight locally think again. As we speak they are slowly getting ready for any potential uprisings in the future. What we used to see in the futuristic movies in the 80s will come to fruition eventually.
Will stay here ...
I'll stay here and get my year's supply in order, generators, fuel, precious metals in storage and plenty of guns and ammo to go around. Everybody on this forum knows it--if we pick ourselves up from here, trudge on and months from now a "brokered convention" yields nothing, this country is in for ROUGH times--Obama, Edwards, Julie-Annie, Romney, or the traitor McCain--they're all cut from the same cloth and American will be the one that takes it up the rear.
Better stock up on your canned goods, and ammo kiddies.......
Ireland
eventually.
New Zealand?
Canada will go right with the North American Union so can't go there. Gradually all countries in the EU will be facist with influence of US multinational companies. You probably read about rupert murdock buying up German tv today.
Africa will obviously be horrible since they are where we get our minerals from and us companies need the cheap labor.
China will take over in the Asian Union and multinational global corps already love the chinese fascist state.
So that really leaves Austalia and New Zealand. I like these places because there is no strategic launch point to this continent. They have no huge oil reserves.
As an American-Australian
I am telling you -- do not come here. Vacation -- yes. Permanent -- no.
Australia is a socialist country through and through and, no, we don't have HUGE oil reserves.
New Zealand is a much better choice. Better climate, it's beautiful, and the population is roughly 3 million. They have two small Libertarian parties, where Australia struggled with it's new Liberty & Democracy Party (I ran for office). Kiwis are much more independent minded and self-sufficient than the Aussies.
Should have married a Kiwi instead of an Aussie. Nonetheless, we are looking to move there next year.
I encourage everyone to visit the South Island -- we could do a "Free Country Project"???
Good luck to us all,
Lisa C.
Rupert Murdoch came from
Rupert Murdoch came from Australia and he has a lot of political influence there too. http://www.americanprogre...
And apparently Australia has a lot of influence in NZ. Most NZ banks own by Australian. But NZ is still a really nice place. I've lived there myself for 6 years.
New Zealand for the
New Zealand for the win.
"Good morning, Mr. Greenspan. I understand that you did not take my friendly advice last fall. I thought maybe you should look for other employment, but I see you have kept your job."
You can't leave
This is world wide. I'll fight and die here.
Right here in America
the Christian Exodus Project- SC
We take over a state
when n.a.u. starts to take place we secede from union have the Dr. as president. I vote for Florida great wheather, natural resources, agriculture, livestock
I had that on another thread
I had that on another thread - but the evil bastards will just prevent us from trading with any other place coz of the one world aspect of it right?
We'll be left alone probably - but with nothing!
We already have a complete
We already have a complete exit strategy to Ecuador.
HERE IS WHERE I TAKE MY
HERE IS WHERE I TAKE MY STAND!
I agree
This is where I make my stand. GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!
Give Me Freedom
If Tyranny And Oppression Come To This Land, It Will Be In The
Guise Of Fighting A Foreign Enemy. James Madison
This is a rather depressing
This is a rather depressing topic, but one of interest to me so I'll respond.
According to the State of World Liberty Index, Estonia is the most free. You have to take these things with a grain of salt, because there will undoubtedly be issues that are important to you which may not be considered important outside America (e.g., gun rights), so they may not even be considered in the rankings. Also, different people may value different aspects of freedom more than others, so you may be willing to tolerate a relatively high tax rate in exchange for near-absolute social freedom, or vice-versa. The Index is really just a combination of several third-party indexes (links broken to bypass spam control):
ht tp://cato.org/pubs/efw/map/index.php
ht tp://www.heritage.org/research/features/index/countries.cfm
ht tp://freedomhouse.org/template.cfm?page=15
ht tp://www.rsf.org/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=554
This peaked my interest in Estonia, and I soon found that their fastest growing and most successful political party is essentially libertarian, which is really awesome to see. Unfortunately, they are an EU member state, but I think they have one of the highest percentages of mistrust of the EU, which would be encouraging. Don't quote me on that, I lost my link of the satisfaction rates of the populations of EU member states, but I do know that the Irish are very leery of it.
And that's another good one. Ireland (the Republic, not to include Northern Ireland) has a strong tradition of independence (click that link for an inspiring read). Although, again, there as aspects that many people would consider intolerable there as well, such as compulsory military service (again, don't quote me here, I'm working from fuzzy memory). Then again, they have an officially neutral foreign policy, which is awesome, and they speak English!
The fact that Canada came in third, with its draconian gun control laws and socialized health care, should give you ample warning to not place too much stock in all this, but I hope I've given you an interesting starting point for your research. Every place will have pros and cons. America is still a great country, in spite of our troubling times. And we can turn it around for the better if we stay motivated in the long term.
Forget about Ireland
I am originally from Ireland and emigrated here in 1994. Despite an exteremely vibrant economy ( apparently the strongest in the EU) Irish living standards have diminished greatly. An influx of uncontrolled immigration from other new members of the EU and Africa have had a devastating affect on schools and hospitals and naturally enough the educational system is suffering.An availability of cheap labor has also flooded the market. They have a horrendous system of socialized medicine which I consistently inform people here in the US that is a prime example of why we don't want socialized medicine here. Murders and organized crime are at an all time high and despite firearms being used in most violent crimes the right to bear arms ( apart from a shotgun, if you reside in a rural area) are non existent.Another thing ( which I am not 100% sure on and may be wrong) is on a recent referendum the people of the Republic of Ireland voted yes to change the constitution( I believe their second ammendment) to drop their territorial claim to the six counties of Northern Ireland. Also they idolise the Clintons.
Taking all things in to perspective let us hope Ron Paul is our next president.
Exit Strategy
When I finish getting my degree I'm going to ease into local politics and work for change that way. If along the way to finishing my degree things progress beyond the point of no return, aka UN troops in my country my exit strategy involves me and my family living on a large comfy sailboat and travelling the world while I skip from country to country working mineral exploration.
Sad That the U.S. Has Come To This
Libertarian presidential candidate Harry Browne tried living in both Switzerland and Canada (Vancouver). I don't think he ever changed his U.S. citizenship though. He said good things about both places but implied that where liberties are concerned it was a wash, and he returned to the U.S. He said that the U.S. has liberties not to be had in those two places, and those two places have some liberties not to be found in the U.S.
In Switzerland, you don't have to worry about the government having an agressive foreign policy, or meddling in your financial life...gotta love that!
Vancouver has a large number of atheists/agnostic/freethinkers...you know...rational people. Gotta love that!
Both places have scenic beauty. Gotta love that!
If the U.S. government would let libertarian-minded folks move to northern New Hampshire, buy the land, and secede, I'd strongly consider that proposal. The new country would have to have a constitution almost identical to the U.S. Constitution, but improved by a few things. There would have to be short term limits for all politicians. There would have to be complete separation of economics and state. Taxes could only be levied, if needed at all, by the Federal government to support a military and court system, nothing more. There could never be a military draft under any circumstances. Socialism and communism would be well defined and deemed an evil upon mankind by making any legislation moving in that direction illegal. There would have to be complete separation of church and state, and school and state. And in all matters related to relationships with other nations, the state would have to remain totally neutral, while the people would be free to interact with other nations in any manner they please, so long as it is not to be traitor to the mother country.
Let's have that!...and let's name the country Oasis-Aynrandia!
Hey, I like your country it sounds
like somewhere I would like to move. I gave some thought on running away to another country. But people better realize once you move to another country how those people feel about Americans! American is a dirty word around the world you may not be welcomed with open arms. Especially, if you think your going to walk in buy their property and live a comfy life. It could be just as dangerous overseas as it will be here. Aaron Russo said to resist I think he was right. I don't have a gun but I will continue to research and vote for people like Dr. Paul. We have many brave you men and women coming back from this insane war. I will vote and support them to stop this insanity.
If we seceded they would
If we seceded they would just cut us off from all other countries trading with us. We might have a pot to pee in, but that's about it.
RP08 to restore the Constitution
Summer soldiers?
Come on you wimps, the "top tier" guys are being shuffled about once again... which shows that not one of them has any support in depth -- Sure, Ron Paul might not "win" New Hampshire, nor even make 10%, but so what? You expected an easy win over the corporations and lobby-feeding fat-cats? Hang in there. McCain will fade, just as Huckabee just did, as soon as they leave their home turf. Ron has no "home turf" -- only the whole of America. His support is steady, very steady... and, just as in any war, the victory doesn't go to the first winner of a battle -- but the one who is still standing after the smoke clears. Paul will be that one. Let the old pols and their pals hack apart one another, and further weaken one another -- Paul was not hurt, but Thomson and Huckabee were. A small but disciplined force will always win over a large and disorganized one. The Top Tier are disorganized. Next primary, McCain and Romney will take on one another once again, and another "leader" will be proclaimed -- but ultimately Ron Paul will win the war. It really doesn't matter if a few percentage points are gained or lost, what does matter is that the campaign continues. We have the future and the truth on our side. We will never give up, and we will win. Ah, and by the way, have some fun!
"Come on you wimps," As I
"Come on you wimps,"
As I mentioned in a previous post, I will continue to fight over the next year. As of Dec 08, we're out of here for a year. We'll continue to work abroad and make a decision later whether to return to the states.
I think a wimp is the one that feels there are no other options.. that's not willing to put together a plan b or plan c.
You're right.
I kinda think that MSM's blackout is a blessing in disguise. We got Leno to invite RP.
And there's an unspoken notion that Ron Paul represents the line between top-tier and second tier.
So far, the results have indicated that Rudy and Fred have placed below a second-tier candidate. And with cash-strapped Huck and McCain winning the nominations but no means to finish the marathon, it is now a war of attrition.
To me, Romney is the only guy to last. And when the GOP realizes they're going to lose to Hillary, Ron Paul gets the nod.
no
Summer soldier? No, but it is clear that one or both of these things is the case. Either this country is HOPELESSLY lost or severe vote fraud is occurring. In the case of the former, quite honestly, I'm not sure it can be overcome. I've been out canvassing my own neighborhood (I'm not just the arm-chair blogger here who hasn't gotten blistered feet). I've seen the apathy. I've seen the ignorance. I've seen the utter hostility ("get off my porch, the guy is a kook--constitution! that was for the 1700's!"). Plot the amount your average american "cares" about his country and you'll get a nice normal distribution I'm sure--which means that a large segment of that curve just doesn't give a flying @#*k. Any of the other talking heads up there with RP fit the bill for these people. And I am quite certain that vote fraud is being perpetuated. It's a carefully laid out scenario--there's a tiny spark of hope at 10% in IA. Fox excludes our man. People cry foul. Vote tallies are "conveniently" adjusted to come in below what he was even polling at and thus it gives all Old Media every shred of ammo they need to say "look! See? We told you. This is why we excluded him. No real support."
So, Summer soldier, no. I will continue to fight, but this night is even more disheartening and disgusting than in IA. I personally am thankful that I "woke up," but .......
Summer soldiers?
