There May beTwo Reasons Ron Paul is Not Doing Better Than 4th or 5th.

One we have a country filled with ignorant morons or two the votes are not being counted correctly.

I prefer to believe the latter. Because if it's not, than our country is truly lost, due to the fact that you will never be able to reason with ignorance. They always think they are right, even if the world around them are crumbling.

Absolutely vote fraud

So all those people donated MONEY to a presidential campaign in NH then just decided they couldn't be bothered to go to the polls today? Didn't we get most of our donations per capita there? Anyone know how many meet up members are in NH? It wouldn't be proof in a court but finding out would at least tell us something is rotten and we should support the efforts of the people trying to prevent voter fraud.

People, voter fraud in America is NOT conspiracy theory. It has been documented and people are in prison right now for their parts in the 2004 election rigging.

That is not to say

That is not to say we should not be canvassing door to door being friendly, positive and professional. We can always use more people -- the more we have, the harder for them to cheat. As I understand it, in America the rigging is by just a few percentage points. Just enough to put Paul in 4th or 5th instead of 3rd.

I mean, get real. Our man is threatening to abolish the FED. THE BANKS. You think they play fair? And it's been proven they can easily corrupt the machines.

Sorry, back on my fraud rant.

Anyway, yeah. Anything we can do to draw more people in we should be doubling our efforts. And enough of the berating Fox news d-bags on -- it makes us look like friggin' lunatics. Even some of our rallies, as great as they've been, I'm sure come across as a circus to a lot of people.

Get serious. Place local newspaper adds, put a bumper sticker on your car and be a courteous driver, go door-to-door with slim jims and be friendly.

That is not to say

oops - lag triple post lol

..

..

Any Guess

Does anyone have any idea how many people work in government vs the private sector? Once the balance tips past 50 percent in favor of govt. employees, its all over. I have several friends who recently got jobs in government at various levels and it seems to me these will be the only jobs left.

not necessarily

my friend works for the post office and we joke about how he may be out of work if Ron Paul gets elected. (Legalize competition!) He is a die-hard supporter and has been for years.

Politicians sell their souls for a paycheck - but your neighbors may be more principled than them, and than you might expect.

We just need to open their eyes!

All over

I'm pretty sure that Jim Willie has reported that over 50% of Americans are either directly employed by the government or primarily contract FOR the government for most of their work. Yup....it's all over.

This is why we must keep the

This is why we must keep the $$ coming into the campaign!!!

Other will drop out because they are broke. Imagine RP in a debate with only three others!! Maybe two others!!!! This is what we'll get if we keep supporting him!!!!

C'mon people, don't be discouraged. That's exactly what "THEY" want us to be!!!!

sadly there is proof of the first one but not of the second one.

ron paul 2008

Option 3: We focussed on war, not serious lost civil liberties

None of those so-called "morons" who voted for McCain knew that McCain voted for IMBRA, which forces Americans to be background checked before being allowed to say hello to foreigners online.

Why?

Because, especially since nobody echoed my concern for these kinds of laws on Daily Paul, the HQ was apparently too frightened to discuss Internet regulation...fearing that New Hampshire residents would side with McCain in his battle to stop American men for being all sex offenders until proven otherwise.

But the only way to get through on our loss of civil liberties is to expose all the laws that assume American men are sex offenders until proven otherwise.

This is not just some minor point. Nobody cares about laws designed to stop actual terrorists. I live in Europe and, when I call my parents in the USA, we expect that several nations are wiretapping us passively (but not forcing us to have background checks in order to talk).

So while HQ apparently considered this Neocon preoccupation with hating American men was "too hot to handle" or "not something too many people are concerned about", HQ thought it was "safe" to say that the US needed to close its huge air base in Germany and project no more power around the world (an extremely, extremely radical position - seriously).

As a result, there seemed to be no serious message of "We have seriously lost civil rights at home and here is a list of them".

Hugh Hewitt hit the nail on the head when he started interviewing Ron Paul supporters asking "What civil liberties have you really been losing that really affects your life"?

Most Ron Paul supporters cannot answer that question.

At least neither they nor HQ will discuss the issue (instead they think they have to mimic the McGovern campaign of 1972):

And we are calling the public morons? We are not morons either, but we are a confused bunch for not stressing actual loss of civil liberties as the main issue.

Does anyone realize how "I will destroy the IRS and replace it with nothing" sounds to people who listen to the MSM? You cannot be so blunt. You have to say "Replace it temporarily with a flat tax"...showing that you know how to compromise at least temporarily.

By far the last message that was needed to place well was "I will deconstruct the military and use the funds to pay for health care." This is considered to be the most left wing position possible. It shrieks of McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis.

Furthermore, the "youths" who harrassed Luntz and Hannity in the last news cycle failed to identify themselves as Republicans, thus giving the impression that they were left wing anarchists

Hair cuts would have helped for some of them. Hippies were left wing in the 60s. It won't work in 2008 to go that route. Believe me.

Now let's recount those votes. Then let's see HQ expose McCain's voting record.

Clearly more people are

Clearly more people are willing to sacrifice the amorphous notion of 'personal liberties' for 'personal security'. What's the appeal of Ron Paul for that crowd?

But IMBRA is about "protecting foreign women" from American men

The American male population would definitely go into shock if at least one prominent politician (Ron Paul) told them for the FIRST TIME that a law like IMBRA exists that does not seek to protect Americans from terrorists, but seeks to protect foreign women from American men.

Keep in mind that we are talking about you and me, people who cannot be suspected of having criminal records, being forced to have background checks in order to just say hello to a foreigner.

A Republican judge declared "There is no fundamental liberty interest in an American contacting a foreigner" to uphold this law (until someone in the US finally challenges it again),

But nobody with any public standing has spoken out about this and the MSM will not report about IMBRA except to whitewash it as a good law that requires "disclosure of criminal histories of prospective American husbands for mail order brides" (translation: background checks for innocent Americans who only want to say hello on a dating site to foreigners - there is no such thing as a mail order bride).

If Ron Paul cannot expose lots of laws like this, but insists on just being George McGovern redux, he will get 5% in the general election as a 3rd Party candidate.

I am beginning to wonder......

if Ron Paul needs a new campaign manager to spiff up his image. I loved his speech on C-SPAN. He is inspiring, but perhaps he should start accenting the positive and eliminate the negative for a change.

Also there have been suggestions that the Ron Paul Meet Up Groups should take out small ads in their local newspapers on Ron Paul. These ads reach thousands of people - more than we could cover otherwise. RP won Jefferson County in Iowa because they took out newspaper ads and would change them weekly. Worked for Ron Paul there!

ignorance

My vote is for "ignorance."

The controversy over Lincoln is a perfect example. The man was indeed a "monster," yet how many New Hampshire voters would agree, or are even aware there's a controversy in the first place?

We have been indoctrinated so thoroughly, and for so long, a rapid awakening is almost unthinkable.

"As long as the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free." - Morpheus, from The Matrix

From exit polls

" Exit polls found 64 percent of Tuesday's Republican voters still support the conflict (Iraq) -- and Romney, whose criticism of President Bush's management of the war has been muted, outpolled McCain in that category.

But among the 34 percent who said they disapproved of the war, McCain had a wide advantage over the GOP field -- even over Texas Rep. Ron Paul, the sole advocate of a U.S. withdrawal in the Republican field. "

If Ron Paul cannot get more of the anti Iraq people than McCain then we are in trouble. Lets face it most Republicans like war and big government. The Republican party is a lost cause.

I agree with McCain on the war, but McCain belongs in prison

Our problem is that we connect the Iraq War with big government.

That might be logical but I personally see a difference.

Obviously, so do most of my fellow Republicans.

What these morons in NH did not know, BECAUSE WE DID NOT TELL THEM, was that they have seriously lost civil liberties at home, many of them dealing with Internet regulation.

We did not tell them that McCain is a Democrat in the Senate. We allowed the MSM to paint McCain as a war hero who was supposedly a conservative.

Hunter

is Hurting us. I think that is why he is still in the race. he is seen as a true conservative.

That and people don't like cults. Ron Paul supporters are portrayed as cult members.
Some of it warranted, most of it not

Also, keep in mind that as

Also, keep in mind that as Hunter and Thompson drop out, their supporters will probably endorse McBain, not Paul. Paul stands alone as a singular candidate, all of the other Republicans are pretenders.

Are you serious?

How is a guy who can't muster 1% hurting anyone???

That 1%

That 1% would have put us ahead of Rudy.

Neither - the campaign's image turns people off

NH voters are the most politically involved in the country. They are the best we've got. But the majority were unimpressed by Dr. Paul's style. We may love him, but he does not inspire confidence in many people.

Image is very important: Take the NH after-party speech - Dr. Paul had several minutes of CNN live coverage and what did we hear? A call to abolish the Fed and the crowd chanting "Ban the Fed!" After CNN cut away I saw him deliver some compelling lines on C-SPAN - but why weren't those delivered when the national cameras were rolling? Where was the polished speech they had weeks/months to prepare? Adding to the image problem: a cheap hotel backdrop and sign (above the camera frame) and no supporters surrounding him. His wonderful family was off camera. These things matter! Image that most viewers took away?: lonely and low-budget fringe candidate with an inscrutable message and some loud supporters.

That speech earned exactly zero new votes in Nevada, SC, and Michigan.

I love Dr. Paul's message, but if the campaign and the candidate don't understand that their image problem compels people to tune them out, they will not expand our national base, which polls (do we believe them now?) show to be 4%.

It does make you wonder.

How Hillary and Obama and others can get a gymnasium with bleachers set up behind them with a wide array of people behind them cheering, yet we have a conference center at the Holiday Inn. It would seem to me that some money would be well spent on renting a decent place where we could use the MSM to muster/broadcast real excitement.

www.ronpaullibrary.org
Where is the Rudy Library and the Mitt Library. Has anyone found them? Do we even know if they can write?

I gotta be with this too

You cannot dismiss a need for image in choosing a President. No, we obviously don't want someone with all style and no substance (sorry, I think of Obama as that), but if they look inept. are you kidding? It's the gd presidency of the United States.

The campaign is simply over its head, uncreative and in need of immediate overhaul or you can forget any expansion of interest in our candidate. Period. But it's really up to Dr. Paul to see that, bite the bullet on his loyalty to his friends currently running things and turn it around.

Also, mob like behavior by certain elements in this campaign scares people...it SCARES them. That is not how one attracts voters, sorry.

Dr. Paul's message is getting lost amid the noise of the theater. Again, though, the campaign has miserably failed to work with all the energy these spontaneous folks bring.....it can be harnessed effectively and it is not.

You response, while probably

You response, while probably correct falls under category 1: the people are morons. Anyone basing their vote on any other than substance is a moron, plain and simple.

Welcome to democracy

Everyone's a moron except for you. Unfortunately you have to get them to support your candidate.

It's The SURGE, stupid

It's 'working'. Bush is vindicated! America wants to WIN!

It's The Economy Stupid!

Instead of focusing on the oncoming financial crises, the campaign was busy with anchor babies. If the campaign focues on the Tancredo voters, it will get the Tancredo numbers. They have stifled The Message.

3rd reason

Some of the stupid stunts some of Dr. Paul's supporters pulled this week.

Beware of Stupid People in Large Greoups!

The United States of America is no more. We as a nation have become to d*mn stupid for representative government. It is that simple. No vote fraud, no irregularities. People have voted for their slave masters, their tyrants. They deserve the government they get.

E-voting machines are NOT

E-voting machines are NOT transparent. Paper ballots and observers watching the count and taking photos of the count sheets BEFORE they are called in to some secret "middleman" tabulation service and then put on some stupid pie chart on CNN. Now that TRANSPARENT process would leave little room for questioning the gosh darn results!!
http://www.youtube.com/wa...

I'll take "vote fraud" for 10,000 votes Alex

Just doesn't make sense. The most libratarian state in the US voting for tyrants, slick salesmen, and doublespeakers.

We should be concerned with the COLLECTIVE IGNORANT!

Let's be real, they are not morons - so please don't call those who don't understand names.

People are the assets and our job, rather, obligation to Dr. Paul, is to educate them - one by one - just like counting sheep.

They live in the consumer condition and we want to lead the to the Producer Paradigm, teach them to create value and believe they can have prosperity without depending on someone else or the government.

It was so easy for me to support Dr. Paul the first I heard about him and donated and wholeheartedly supported a presidential candidate for the first time in my life (well, I did like Goldwater - AUh20 we used to call him). Because it was an obvious choice for me/us, does not mean it comes that easy for others.

Most people don't read but there are so many great books out there that would have a huge impact. One of them is RICH DAD / POOR DAD by Robert Kiyosaki (any of his books). A friend of mine said he read it and then said, "too bad we didn't read it when we were young". I said, we do it now for our children, to lead them, and to teach them all things are possible if you believe in yourself and find your passion and unique ability. If you follow that, and NOT the money - the money will follow. When we create value, the money will come in exchange for that value.

Now, see the positive feeling these words and feelings create ?

So, let's remember Gandhi:

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win” Mohandas Gandhi

Important for morale...

No, just the Republicans

The third possibility is that the Republican party, which is collapsing in numbers, is pretty much the party of neocons and theocons, and that they neither want nor deserve Ron Paul to save them. If you look at the relative number of votes in the Democratic and Republican primaries today, it is obvious that the latter is in deep trouble.

The Republican Party may be on its way to third party status. Since the Ron Paul Nation survey revealed that only 35% of Paul supporters were registered Republican before this campaign, the results compared to the money raised strongly suggests that we have a broad-based movement, unusually young and unusually Internet savvy, but not especially welcome by Republicans.

feeding pigs

when I worked for Kucnich in 2004, I was told: "the poor don't vote so don't canvas them."

i.e. a lot of people depend on government lagress, pensions, etc... and that would possibly end with Ron Paul so why would people gamble away their wealth?....

however, since they're voting political and not economically, their future could be bleak.

i.e. I was one of many who predicted the housing bubble (early on); when it finally hit in August, my boss congratulated me on my "gutsy call" since he thought "house prices can only go up.'

folks, we're ahead of our time; the writing is on the wall but, like the minority report, we don't know exactly how things will come apartt all those sheeple, though, will wonder what happened to them.

there will be a brokered convention and it will be interesting!

I too predicted the housing collapse. However, it's not over yet

and won't be for several more years. The future does not look good.

Then when I see those cheering that "Mac is Back," or those who cheer with "I want change," it makes me sad to see our easily people are taken in my their own ignorance.

However, that's what the elites depend on, the people's ignorance and the people never let them down. Even though they may let their country down... they never let the elites down.

Sorry pard'ner MORONS DOESN"T CUT IT!!

TWENTY MILLION IN DONATIONS... IN TWO MONTHS.. ONE HUNDRED GRAND TODAY@@

THOUSANDS OF DONORS FROM NEW HAMPSHIRE ALONE.>> ONE OF THE BIGGEST PER CAPITA STATES!!

BULL SHIT

The main reason....

The main reason is still name recognition. Howard Stern JUST heard of him the other day. As I have said before, people still do not know who the good Dr. is. Give it time people, America is still cleaning the sleep out of their eyes.

How many times has McCain

How many times has McCain ran and not won. This is Rons first time

Dr. Paul is getting up there in age.

Being steadfast is not an option when you are in your 70's.

I'll take "ignorant morons" for a thousand Alex

It is called DENIAL... A NEW DRUG...

Have you ever watched that reality show called "Intervention"?

And the Drug Addict freaks out and is in total denial.

IF they vote for Ron PAul they would have to admit that their is a REAL problem. People would rather destroy themselves many times than admit this...

Insisting that you are right

Insisting that you are right and the world is wrong is the wrong way to look at it.

We'll get the word out, but frankly the campaign needs to do whatever it takes to make intelligent use of the money we put in their care. They need to hire the best PR people and the best campaign manager money can buy.

If they continue doing the same thing, they will not improve our numbers.

Operation Broadcast Freedom

Can we please start sending our donation money to these guys running independent ads for Ron in MI, NV, and SC. the national campaign needs more third party ads to help him in the radio and tv ad war. I urge the 2200 or so on this forum to donate to running ads in mi. I also encourage you as I will be the next two days for other ron paul supporters to give to Broadcast for freedom

so let us all chip in tonight and then spread the word

Let us all chip in to win in michigan

Who said that the masses are incurably ignorant....?

Not much has changed in centuries....

I'm afraid this guy is right

Ron Paul is a unique product, but it's all about marketing. His staff was chosen by him, and so I can't say anything about that, but with $20 mil to work with,,,,,,,,,,I think his staff got glossied eyed counting the money and forgot what to do with it. Single digit result in New Hampshire, and sure enough, you're history in the media. This staff can't find it's way out of the men's room. Look at all the real props! They came from people not even associated with the "official campaign". Wow, what a chance at history.

You can buy a whole lot of

marketing with $20M, if you spend wisely. Look what the Huckster has done with a lot less. 1st and 3rd. He's taken advantage of every second of free air time to hawk his favorite product...himself.
