Books that have shaped RON PAUL?

can someone give a few suggestion on books we should all read? I think one way for all of us to expand our knowledge is to read the same books that Dr. Paul has.

Thanks

I hope more of our supporters read this info. It's great

Two books that Ron Paul

Two books that Ron Paul gives strong recommendations for are
1. Against Leviathan
2. How Capitalism Saved America

Classics for any Free-marketer

Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
Road to Serfdom by F.A. Hayek
Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlett
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand - Paul even mentioned it in an interview, I think

Daily Paul reading list thread

Here is an excellent thread from about one week ago that had all sorts of reading recommendations from DP posters. Here's the link:

What got him into economics and monetary policy

The book "The Road to Serfdom" got him interested in economics and monetary policy. It inspired him to make a change and run for office.

Rosseau: "the social contract"

I read this book and it was great; Rosseau, for example, is known to have formalized the notion that "not all civilization is good."

In particular, I am currently reading Rosseau's "a social contract."

I've been told that the "French Revolution" was fueled by Rosseau and Voltaire but I haven't checked that out. However, based on my reading so far, Rosseau's grasp of liberty and how it relates to peace has been eye opening.

Rousseau

Rousseau sacrificed freedom to equality. The general interest is more important than individual ambition and needs. The opposite of what libertarianism stands for.

Well We Know He's Read This One

The 9/11 Commission Report. He suggested the smiling GIULIANI read it for answers.

My suggestion as to a good book would be David Ray Griffin's 'The 9/11 Commission -- Omissions and Distortions'.

Vote RON PAUL 2008

I was kind of hoping there

I was kind of hoping there would be a "recommended readling list" that would give some idea of what RP would recommend. I love to learn, but with so many books available, it's sometimes difficult to know what's BS and what's not until after I've spent my money.

Anyone here want to make a few recommendations?

Here's a few:

1. "The Road to Serdom" by F.A. Hayek
2. "The Law" by F. Bastiat
3. "Human Action" by L. Mises

Collectivism is slavery.

no books

nobody has any reading they suggest. I am looking for more than reading BS on the internet

The Bible, for starters

Ron Paul has clearly been strongly influenced by the Bible. His personal character would not be what it is without that background.
