Scottsdale AZ Straw Poll 80% for Ron Paul!! Votes were almost stolen!!

We just go back from the straw poll in Scottsdale Arizona! The vote total was 515 votes. 414 went to Ron Paul 80%!! 64 for McCain 12%, 13 votes for Romney, Giuliani 7, Fred Thompson 6, Huckabee 1, and Hunter 3.
My Husband, and I watched the ballot box all night. Suddenly, a group of McCain supporters took the box to count the votes without anyone noticing but us! My Husband John followed them. They went to a corner to count the votes and John jumped in to help count. They informed him that they did not need his help. He pushed his way into the group and let them know that he too would be assisting with the counting. They chose reluctantly not to argue! My husband is a cowboy and was not taking no for an answer. The pile of votes for Ron Paul was so high, that the pile kept falling over onto the John McCain pile. Of course no one was going to recount them but John. He had to keep grabing the McCain pile to separate all the Ron Paul votes from it! It was obvious that they did not intend for him to be there helping! Thank goodness he was there.
We need to take matters into our own hands now and then. We had a huge room of Ron Paul supporters tonight. It was a wonderful crowd to be around. But with all of us there, no one else jumped in to assist with counting. This needs to be done at all futures straw polls. They are very sneaky! Ron could have lost a lot of votes tonight.

It must have been fairly obvious who would win unless the Ron Paul supporters were keeping a low profile, and what are the odds of that?
You can hardly blame the McCain supporters for wanting to check the count for themselves, just to make sure they got theirs.

I wasn't at the straw poll because I live in Tucson and had to work while the poll was going on. But I don't know one damn McCain supporter anywhere around here. And Tucson is more liberal than the rest of AZ (I sure as hell aint a dirty liberal). So I would think if there were any McCain supporters left in this state they would be down here in Tucson.

We got "played"...
I was there at the Scottsdale nightclub.... and we Ron Paul Patriots and the McCain group where "played" by the top GOP, but it was a blast seeing all the Ron Paul people I have come to know and meeting many more that I have never seen before.
The money went to the GOP. Those at the top leaked the news of the Straw Poll out very selectively with a short amount of time, thus insuring who would attend. They did not like McCain and so in the last minute told a few just so they would show and get spanked by us Ron Paul people. Both groups took the bait, and at $5 x 5 votes each, times 500 some people, they took in about, but not over $12,500 last night. Months ago they did the same to the Duncan Hunter supporters who showed up, took a straw poll and "won" (and so did the GOP). Right now there is going to be a surprise poll at a GOP event and gossip is spreading, but no one wants to tell the McCain crowd so that "we" can "win". The winner of course will be the GOP.
And who is the GOP supporting? Well in Arizona, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be McCain.
As we know, Ron Paul is getting NO SUPPORT from the National GOP, so we must not be so gullible next time, and foolish with our money. I confess I was "allowed" to buy 5 ballots, so I bought 5. Next time I won't buy any unless the "winner" of gets to put the money into his campaign.
And thats how to make for an honest Straw Poll.... Have it widely advertised, announced Months in advance, only ONE ballot per voter, and most of all, the "winner" of the poll gets to keep all the money for their campaign. That would make each campaign work very hard to win the Straw Poll. Of course that is not going to happen since the GOP is keeping the money from all these Straw Polls that we Ron Paulers keep "winning". What is it we are "winning"? we must ask ourselves...

And get eviedence by taking a picture of totals with precint number. This is a great example how no one else is looking out for your best interest but YOU!

the campaign staff knew how to use this information. The results of this poll should be reported. Who sponsered the poll? Ron's catching fire, and they don't know what to do. Scare people, lie to people, steal votes, you name it.............but the good news is, it's not working.

This is my very unknowledgeable opinion:
This was a very unofficial straw poll. It was at a republican professionals meeting. http://www.republicanprof... Anyone could vote up to 5 times. There was no requirement for people to be from AZ.
My current estimate of support for Dr. Paul in AZ is maybe a bit above average. We have tons of really adamant supporters just like everywhere else, but we need to get our asses out and walk the streets. The average person really doesn't know much if anything about Dr. Paul.
I hate to say this, but the answer to the last two questions is because the poll was "spammed" by Ron Paul supporters. This went out to all the meetup groups, and Ron Paul supporters showed up in droves. So it turns out Ron Paul has a couple hundred very active supporters. What the other candidates have is name recognition, so that Mr. and Mrs. Joe American when they go to the poll feel comfortable voting for Rudy McHuckelberry. They don't need these adamant supporters because thousands of people vote for them for no real reason. Ron Paul doesn't have that at all.
So to answer why these don't translate into real votes: The average american is not going to show up at this straw poll, the average american is also not going to vote for Ron Paul.
And as for why McCain didn't win this poll? Mostly old people like him and this straw poll was at an inconvenient time for old people, and also at a trendy night club. The republican professional group is designed for young people.
Also, as a side note, from talking to the guy who started the Republican Professionals and his brother, it sounds like he kind of planned this. The story went that when the organizer said he was going to have a straw poll his brother was like "don't you know you are going to get a bunch of Ron Paul people filling the event" or something like that. He knew he would and since he was charging $5 a vote he knew it would make a lot of money for that very reason. But to be fair the guy was really cordial and seemed to respect Ron Paul and the revolution very much. He was actively trying to get someone from the campaign to speak at an event, or even Dr. Paul if possible (even though the next event is after Feb. 5th, so I don't see the point).
So in closing, please keep in mind that a lot of this I just pulled out of my ass, and I am also a little bit drunk still. I am, however, very sure in my point that the straw poll was a complete joke and spammed by Ron Paul supporters. It is hard for me to think of what happened tonight as a real straw poll, and if it was just as serious as all the previous ones on the east coast and stuff then I can definitely see why they didn't translate into votes.

By "GET OFF YOUR ASSES" I don't mean go to these stupid straw polls. Winning all the straw polls in the world is pointless. No one reports them and no one cares. They don't translate into votes, they translate into a false sense of security and artificially high hopes. Winning more straw polls is not a good sign of progress for ron paul. If Ron Paul's support in arizona was still at the exact same level it was last september, the results of the straw poll would have barely changed at all.
Here is what I mean by "GET OFF YOUR ASSES." We have to run this grassroots shit like a real campaign. You have to sign to be a Precinct Captain on Ron Paul's official web site. You have to get out there and talk to every single registered voter in your neighborhood. Drop off literature and maybe order a bunch of DVDs to leave with them all. This is the only way to get the word out to the people. Most people do not see Ron Paul on TV and will not vote for him unless you knock on their door and ask.
There are lots of other things like this that you can do, but the point is you have to get out and talk to people.
If all you do is vote on a bunch of online and text polls and show up at straw polls, you are nothing but a Ron Paul dweeb. NEWS FLASH!! No one gives two craps about the post debate text polls! YOU HAVE TO GET OUT AND TALK TO PEOPLE! We will be lucky if the average person uses the results of this straw poll to wipe their ass tomorrow morning! If you do not get out and knock on doors, Ron Paul is not going to win! Even waving signs probably isn't that effective. People driving by are either supporters already, or just think you are weird!!
Also, while I am still a big supporter of putting up a bunch of signs all over town all the time, they are starting to wear out their usefulness. Most people have seen the signs if they are going to, and have remembered Ron Paul's name if they are going to. Now that they are familiar with the name, and are probably curious, it is time for you to get your ASSES to their front doorsteps and deliver the good news that Ron Paul is going to save their country. Although a lot of the signs say "Google" and "YouTube" I guarantee you that very few people are going home to google Ron Paul. In fact, I bet until you knock on their front door to tell them the good news they don't even REMEMBER seeing the sign!

Reasons :
The phoenix area has grown substantially in the last several years, as has scottsdale from what I hear, and has been experiencing a population boom not unlike what Las Vegas was going through some years prior.
These people are not loyal to Mccain. Also Mccain has become more unpopular in recent years in his home state of Arizona, if memory serves. Not everyone is strong in their home state. Look at Huck for example.

Above all other candidate supporters WE need to be the ones counting and monitoring the votes. Don't assume others are going to do it. YOU take it upon yourself to make sure the duty is done.
