The election integrity community is abuzz with news that candidate Dennis Kucinich will ask for a recount in New Hampshire, and Ron Paul fans have been pushing him to recount as well. Careful.

NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTION INTEGRITY ADVOCATE NANCY TOBI IS CORRECT:

"We have no control over the ballot chain of custody and we have learned the pain from the 2004 Nader recount, in which only 11 districts were counted, chosen by a highly questionable person, and then nothing showed up. Now all we hear is how the Nader recount validated the machines."

As Tobi says, "A candidate asking for a recount may well be a tool used to 'prove' everything was okay and then that candidate will be further discredited."

I'll go further than that. The only way a recount makes any sense at all in New Hampshire is AFTER an assessment is made of the chain of custody issues. If the chain of custody isn't intact the recount won't be worth a cup of warm spit.

TOBI:

"This is high stakes.

"You do not walk into a battle ground not knowing where the snipers are, just because you were invited. Strategically, going into something like this where you have NO CONTROL is foolishness.

"And I say this as one of the strongest recount proponents of former times. Things I have come to learn and understand have changed my mind. The recount is someone else's game, not ours.

"In the recount, we have no control, and we have already lost 48 long hours of ballot chain of custody oversight.

"We need citizen control and oversight. This is not going to come from the recount. If the election was rigged...don't you think the riggers would have a backup Plan B for a rigged recount, knowing how easy it is to get a recount in NH?

2) The ballot ordering history for each location, especially those using computerized voting systems and the inventory records for the current contest.

3) The ballot chain of custody plan for each location and for the state of New Hampshire.

I'm concerned by what Michael Rivero pointed out yesterday on his web site. He wrote:

"First of all, a recount will NOT result in an examination of the computer logs, etc. What is needed is a court order to confiscate/examine the machines and paper ballots, based on the discrepancy between the paper and machine ballot counts.

Try to find a judge willing to risk bringing down the political system that pays (and promotes) him/her. Because if it were proven that the elections are rigged just once, it calls all of the elections in recent memory into doubt.

So what to do about this? If they rig the recount, wouldn't this effort only serve to validate a rigged election with a rigged recount?

I agree that more than just a vote recount is needed. From what I've read it does not seem Dennis Kucinich is aware of the following form of vote fraud construed by the Clinton's:

My name is Eric, I have had the honor of spending the day in Concord NH with Albert Howard. I only met him today but feel we have known each other for a lifetime, he is a great guy and a true Patriot. As soon as I can, I will get the video I took of Mr. Howard filing for this HISTORIC recount. For anyone who thinks this is a waste of time, please consider the ramifications of possibly finding fraud in the "First In The National Primary". It is far better to confirm the vote now than too later wish we had done so when it's to late. We will move forward giving the utmost respect and consideration to Dr. Paul's Campaign. I believe if we do not stand strong in these first battles we will send out a message to all the world that we do not take this Revolution seriously. And if we do not take it seriously why should the opposition.

Well done to Dennis Kucinich, it would seem to be readily apparent that vote fraud took place in N.H. in both the Republican and Democrat Primarys, especially when one observes the differences between the machine and hand counts.

But, lets be frank here, we must all have been aware that the respective machines would be rigging votes, right from the get go.

The fact that it is done with such inpudence, is a measure of how little the machines think of the voters, again this must have been clear from the outset.

Now, it would seem that many people are beginning to question, why Dr Paul has not asked for a recount, seemingly unaware that to do so, would sink his campaign on the spot. Imagine the relish with which the Faux News crowd would dismiss Dr Paul as a bad looser, and no hoper.

I can only hope that the campaign team have forseen the rigging, and acordingly have some tactics to play, in fact, I would suggest, that if they do not, we may as well all pack up and go home. For sure N.H. was a fair state, inasmuch as, it had a mix of hand and machine voting. Likely future Caucus's and Primarys will have mostly if not all machine voting, to wit Fred Thompson's confidence for South Carolina ?

In the final analysis, we must be ready to start acting and thinking in terms of, What Would Sam Adams Have Done in this situation, and if we are not able to, then we all had better get used to licking the hand that feeds us, and most assuredly, hoping that our chains do indeed rest lightly upon us.

After listening to Alex Jones radio him asking to donate to Denise. I just donated $25.00 to his campaign.

Instead of helpless subjects of the federal gov. How about we take a medium sized town like Concord and go find all the Paul voters, either by their volunteering their information, or by the meetup going door to door, and match that against the official numbers??? They can flier the town, we can all pay to take out ads in the papers ...

Since Rep Kucinich's file will only take in Democratic votes, who will file for the Republican votes to be counted?

I do not know of anyone who has confidence in the Diebold machines, and the votes should be hand-counted to assure Ron Paul supporters that their votes were indeed counted.

Our group is skitish anyway, because FOX News, and at times CNN and MSNBC, have made it quite obvious that they are against our candidate.

They are a powerful Lobby, and the People need to know that THEIR vote is worth at least as much as the Money in the Media.

It is our Right under the Constitution.

So this recount only pertains to democrats, right?

Also, I agree with many there has to be qualified observers for the

I have sent this to Pauls campaign, Kucinich campaign and to the governor of New Hampshire but if you watch and think it should be sent I know all little bit "hurts". Let Pauls campaign know how you feel about this is what Paul is running for to enforce or I should say re-enforce the law.

Not doing this is like worrying about the windshield wipers on a car with the engine block broken.

Thanks to all that have helped. This is not about Ron Paul because this time this is different. I am so impressed with the younger people really being concerned about their own future enough to do something.

Kucinich files for NH Vote Recount…… Will Only Cost $2,000

New Hampshire law allows any candidate with less than 3% of the vote to pay only $2000, not $67,000. Here’s a link to the article listed on the Drudge Report:

Kucinich alluded to online reports alleging disparities around the state between hand-counted ballots, which tended to favor Sen. Barack Obama, and machine-counted ones that tended to favor Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. He also noted the difference between pre-election polls, which indicated Obama would win, and Clinton’s triumph by a 39 percent to 37 percent margin. Candidates who lose by 3 percentage or less are entitled to a recount for a $2,000 fee. Candidates who lose by more must pay for the full cost. Kucinich’s campaign said it was sending the $2,000 fee to start the recount.

I AM TOTALLY EXCITED ABOUT HIM AND WANT TO LEARN MORE!!!!

the chain of custody is the issue. diebold has printed 25% plus ballots...

if discrepencies are proven....we need to do nothing less than stop this primary until we go paper. there are two cases in route for paper ballots.

every state on a machine is subject to this scam. every one.

The taxpayers of New Hampshire paid for the machines, the machines and company tallying the votes failed. If you purchase a faulty item the manufacturer replaces it or refunds your money. This should be no different. This is a very bad example to set - it should be illegal to force candidates to pay for a recount when it is the voters who are harmed. This is most certainly an infringement of our Constitutional Right to vote!

I am furious at Obama and the media for ignoring this. Just proves Obama is one of the establishment, as is MSNBC. They are pissed that Hillary won, calling it racism. Well, no it was the Diebold machines!

(I believe Kucinich IS doing it for Ron Paul, as well as the voters. They are friends, and Kucinich is backing Obama too, and he lost a lot of votes to these machines as well).

Will this recount include the GOP? I thought the recount would only be for the race the candidate was in.

Edit: If the recount for the dems come back different, then it will at least shed light on the problems with voting that exist in other places as well.

They do vote the same on many issues . . .
