Congratulations to all those that have begun their "Vice Bomb" operations!

I apologize that we do not yet have a website. Couple of reasons for that...

1. The person that I was planning on building the site, has declined.

2. I was waiting for more input as to the site name and ideas for what should be there.

To answer problem 1, I have decided that although my web master skills are seriously under par... I will make the site myself. It doesn't have to win any awards... we just need someplace to meet for encouragement and to track our progress as far as our donations are concerned. So that's settled. Thank you to the person that offered $200 for site creation. You are a true patriot... a person that put's his money where his mouth is. I very much respect that and wish that everyone else could follow that example. Since I will be building the site myself, I won't need that donation... but you could push it over to Dr. Paul if you still wanted to give to a worthy cause?

In regards to problem 2, if I wait for people to suggest ideas, the site will NEVER get done. So here's what I propose... tell me what you think as I still have a few days before I can begin building it:

1. A chatroom for on-going, live support and encouragement.
2. A chip-in meter to track our total donations
3. A forum for tips on quitting all sorts of vices, for links to other great RP sites and just to meet other people that share your own passions for Dr. Paul, the Constitution... whatever.

Great.

It's coming... I promise you! It may take me a little bit, but it's coming. In the meantime, there's no reason why you can't stop your chosen vice now... and donate on the 21st to the "I have a dream" money bomb!

I am not a smoker. I just want to with you the best of luck with this. I think it is a great idea. The tobacco companies doubled the amount of nicotine in the 90's. F the establishment. They just want to kill us off. Most think its the tar and nicotine that kill 400,000+ ppl a year. Its not that, its the radium in the fertilizer they use on tobacco.

I smoked for 20+ years. One day I looked down at my smokes and just threw them out my car window. Haven't had a puff since and do not have any urge to. Want to know how WE did it.

I tried many times by myself to quit smoking always failing, then I realized I was trying to do it by myself. I needed help. Did I go get hypnotized.....no, how about the gum.....no.

I went to the Almighty and asked Him to help me. Every morning when I got up instead of reaching for a smoke I asked Him to get me through the day. Every night I thanked Him for getting me through the day.

Very little if any withdrawls. I have been off them for 14 years.

Hope this might help some of you.

I quit smoking years ago...One thing that helped was Ricola Cough Drops. They have herbs in them that help with the cravings, help clear the nicotine out of the bloodstream, clear the lungs etc.

They are approx $1.89 a bag. If you get a few bags, and when you get a real bad craving, have a Ricola cough drop.

And remember you're doing it for your children too!!!

I've been a smoker for over 20 years now and I've been looking for some real motivation to quit, I'm pretty sure your wonderful idea just gave me the motivation I needed. Pretty scarey that I am more afraid of the shape of our country than imminent death via cancer. Hopefully today will be my last day as a smoker (gonna take me the 18 or so hours until I wake up tomorrow to get my self prepared to quit)

Are there no others willing to give up their vices and donate the money saved to the good doctor?!

We have two people offering to fund the creation of the website and a few willing to give up their somes, chew, coffee and credit cards... are there no others?

takeaction has offered $200 for the website creation... and I will pay for the hosting every month!

Just think... if you were to give up that daily cup of Starbucks (hmmm... I wonder who they sponser?), that would equal about $100 a month! All going to RP!

We'll be taking money away from our enemies, giving it to the R3Volution and getting ourselves healed all at the same time!

We are already known as the most angry supporters. I don't think thousands of us (myself included) quiting smoking at the same time is going to help that. This is the kind of thing that could end up sparking a war ;-)

I don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t fool around so not a lot of bad habits to quit. However, my family and I will keep our credit cards in our wallets for 6 weeks starting Jan 15 and spending fiat money only, or going without. We will also stamp every bill we spend with the Ron Paul ink stamp. This may sound sort of lame but I like the idea of spending only the cash we have access to and not enriching credit card companies with transactor fees. The only exception is Ron Paul campaign contributions, of course.

Can you imagine if this works...and then the MSM gets wind of it... WOW, I think we have something here!!! Especially if the site is simple...and we can track the donations from us all quitting our bad habits. And on the site...It needs to show each persons donation level...

All I can say people...is that I am in if you guys can pull it off. I think if this is followed through with....It will go VIRAL. The site needs a live Chat so we all can talk when we get the cravings. We need to be there for each other...because it is a nightmare to quit...But if I have a few of you people to talk to everyday...I am in!! So just tell me when and where...

Can someone contact Trevor Lyman...he could put this together in a second... Or make a new post on Daily Paul that says "Basic Web Site Design needed NOW" and handle it...

Whatever you are giving up - smoking, chewing, drinking soda, Starbucks, any other unhealthy swaste of money - we should have a site where people can make their pledge to give it up, provide each other encouragement, and report our progress.

I witnessed his success and he never was bitchy or anything. I read part of it and was not only impressed with the method, I know once I'm not around so many smokers I'll be able to pull it off.

I unfortunately don't smoke enough for this to make much difference... about a pack a week... so maybe I need to smoke MORE, a LOT MORE! Thanks for encouraging me!

I used to smoke two packs. Do it for your child. That always helps.

We want it more than they do so we substitute Dr. Paul for "bad" addictions.
