Please take a moment to vote for Ron Paul on AOL's most recent Presidential straw poll. It is broken down by state and currently has Ron Paul in 5th place with 38,000 votes. McCain is in the lead with 73,000.

Cheating
What is the point of these polls if there are so many people cheating and voting more than once. I don't even look at it anymore. Does it just make you happy to see Ron Paul winning so many states, even though these are not accurate numbers.

Embarrassing
I hoped Ron Paul supporters were above McCain tactics.
Is this the sort of freedom we want? Should I be the one to blame if I leave my doors unlocked and the thieves take my stuff? Is it fair for all my neighbors to join the thieves since, "Everyone else is doing it?"
Ron Paul fans vote once and know that when they win, it will be fair and square on their part. I will be proud to be a part of that team.

RP is at 30% in Michigan but only won 6% last night.
He had 19% of the under 30 vote last night, however.
He had a similar amount of the college educated.

Yeah, I Just Made RP Win Arkansas
This poll is so bogus. Huckabee and Paul are 37% in Arkansas, but Huck was ahead a vote or so, so I voted for Paul twice and lo and behold, now he is shown as the winner, still at 37%. And I don't even live in Arkansas!

Ron Paul is leading in every state in this poll- sure ...polls shmolls- but it sure is encouraging to know that we have enough supporters in all 50 states that can light up a map like that- dont think that the other candidates arent trying to do the same thing- I for one am very encouraged : )

I checked this morning and Paul had like 6-7 states, come back this afternoon and hes got the entire map. I was gunna say, if its being hacked, at least have the common sense to not give him iowa and nh where he's already lost.

It has been proven that McCain and possibly other candidates are hacking the poll. They sent out an email with a link to a proxy that allows you to vote multiple times. I'd say just let it go and let's not stoop to their level by joining in the cheating.

Just because a handful of ardent Paul supporters participate in these polls does not mean he is winning.
I would actually like to see a poll where RP supporters haven't skewed the results.
Gee, maybe if we stop doing this, then eventually we'll get some real-world respect.

Mass Media is under virtual black out on Ron Paul. WE HAVE NO CHOICE we have to find other ways to get ANY attention to his name.

I'm wondering....just how DOES somebody "skew" a poll, anyway? Might it be something like resetting the numbers for one particular candidate while leaving the numbers for the others untouched? Isn't a poll where everybody is invited to come in and vote for their choice? Just how is the poll "skewed?" Is it "skewed" when you don't get the result you expect because one candidate's supporters, who you don't support, show up to vote when your own candidate's supporters do not?

You go onto a site like this one and tell everyone to go to a particular poll and vote for a particular candidate. It skews the poll. Imagine if someone organized all of the Mormons in the United States to "vote" in every online poll. While members of the LDS Church only number about 1.5% of the total population they could EASILY make Romney win every online poll by a massive landslide. They could "SKEW" the poll. Do you get it now?

An online rally is NOT skewing anything. This is the silly accusation FOX made when Ron Paul won their call in poll.
Skewing is when voters "clear their cookies" or use a proxy server to vote multiple times. It's dishonest, but since it's not a "real" election, some think it's okay. It's not. It is still dishonest, even if we do it for a great cause.

A handful? It doesn't sound like you know much about Ron Paul and the incredible level of support he is getting. I see it first hand every single day with the people I talk to.
In two weeks check to see which Republican candidate did the best with fundraising during the last 3 months of 2007. I believe the numbers are due in to the FEC by Jan. 31st.

...today I went out and did more canvassing. Here were my results:
# of homes I left a slimjim on their door because no one answered: 63
# of homes who answered the door and didn't know who RP was, but liked what I was saying and accepted the slimjim: 14
# of homes who answered the door, had "seen signs everywhere and wondered", wanted more info, and were really happy when I had a slimjim available for them: 47
# of homes who answered the door, didn't want a slimjim: 1
# of unfriendly people: 0
% of those homes who answered the door who were Democrats: 100
65% of the homes were black, the rest white. Mostly middle-aged. The blacks were lower- to middle-class, the whites were at least middle- to upper-class. I found the blacks most receptive and even excited. Then again, for some reason, black people love me. I can't explain it, mang.

I'm going out again tomorrow after church. Right now, I'm about to watch "Team America: World Police" for the millionth time for inspiration.

for what you are doing. You have probably accomplished more in this one day's effort canvassing than 90% of the people on this site. You are a great example of commitment and courage. Please keep us updated on your efforts. May MANY of us receive the nudge we needed to get off of our duffs, shut of the computer for a few hours and do what you are doing. On Site versus real world
But where do you think that motivation comes from.
I am wondering how many people JUST READING his list of acomplishment might now go out and try to do so themselves. If he gets even ONE more person to get up and actually do something in there own neighborhood then this site has been totally worth it.
The internet is not a means to action its a means to communication. The Internet quite literally is the embodiment of "The Free Press" (as long as we keep them from tiering it)

Also, I saw three new homes I didn't know who had their RP yard signs, and other signs on their fences!!! I had to hold back the tears!
And every time I stopped at a red light or stop sign, when no one was waiting behind me, but someone was walking their dog or baby, or they were waiting for a bus, I got out and handed them one too. That happened about 5 or 6 times.
Polls are neat-o !
They tell us "hey kids! everyone's doing it!" like some cheesey cartoon furry plugging a kid's breakfast cereal. Fortunately most people are wising up- The Ron Paul camp has virtually made them useless- watch Hannity's reaction to his own text poll showing RP's win or the San Francisco straw poll being cancelled because "We didnt know so many RP supporters would show"-Penn Jillette's "F-You, Frank" video should be considered reference material in any University's curriculum. People now see popularity polls as no more relevant to the actual score as the shouts from opposing fans on either side of the bleachers at a highschool football game- the touchdowns matter (votes) not who cheers loudest. Keep out texting em- its fun and makes the Hannitys of the world say "yeah..RP won again but only because he has so many supporters who have nothing better to do than to text a vote" lol .I for one will never change my vote because I see somewhere that noone else is voting for RP but me. On election day- vote for RP. I promise you- no matter what the polls tell you- Ill be at my precinct voting with you.
Is RP Crazy?
I had a discussion with someone who confronted me on one of RPs postions. Namely, his position on abolishing the IRS and replacing it with nothing. I was challenged as to how the Fed Gov would raise crucial funds for national interests without this huge haul. RP says revenues would be similar to 10 years ago, but how? I got stumped. I cannot explain how federal gov revenues would be generated to the level of 10 years ago without the income tax.
Also, RP rips on the Federal Reserve for all of its faults. But what about the fact that the central bank creates a single uniform currency that has been so strong over the years? I guess people don't see how we quit the FED, the path is not clear.
Of course I assured him that the Doctor is far from crazy. Crazy like a fox, maybe.

There IS a little bit of a concern with Congress...
Issuing the money. I am not saying that we should not end the Federal Reserve, but we need to ensure that Congress doesn't just switch from borrowing money to printing it. That's what happened to Argentina a few years ago. We need a system better than what we have, but also one that is safe from the politician's turning into an even worse reelection piggy bank.
I trust Dr Paul, but I would want this addressed sometime before election day. He does have the plaque, "Don't Steal. The government hates competition" on his desk!
