The Ron Paul Rockfest will be held at Smith’s Olde Bar (1578 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30324) on Thursday, October 25, 2007. Concert doors will be open to the public at 7 p.m., tickets are available online at www.etix.com and at the door the night of the concert upon availability for $10. All proceeds will be utilized for Dr. Ron Paul’s campaign by supporting and funding the efforts of Georgia Ron Paul Meetup groups.
Mark Augustyn, founder of thinkLIBERTARIAN adds, “Along with the bands, we’ll have concert t-shirts for sale with proceeds going to the fund raiser, plenty of Ron Paul literature and information, a Libertarian Party of Georgia table as they support the same principles as Dr. Paul, hopefully a live webcast on Ron Paul Radio if we can iron out some technical issues, a special announcement from a future senatorial campaign here in Georgia, and hopefully a few surprises as well. It is going to be a great night for liberty in Atlanta.”
“When Chance Walls (music coordinator) and I booked the date in June, we never would have guessed that Dr. Paul’s campaign would be where it is today. Having just raised over $5 million dollars in the third quarter and fresh off another debate win, Dr. Paul’s message of freedom, prosperity, and peace is clearly resonating with people all over America. We are thrilled and honored to be able to help raise money and awareness for a true ‘cross-over’ candidate with fans from all political backgrounds uniting behind a simple concept, freedom.”
Media who would like to attend and cover the event can request press passes from Mark Augustyn at info@thinklibertarian.com or 404.822.3986.

Atlanta Rockfest Posters
You guys in charge there should print a bunch of these up and sell them online - I'm sure you'd have a lot of demand! You could donate some of the money to the campaign / to the meetups / to the cause in general!!!
Posters
We plan to have 2x3 prints for sale at the rockfest, along with tshirts based on the design.
We will also make the prints and tshirts available online at www.thinklibertarian.com after the event.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hey all,
We're on around 11:00 you can check us out and down load tunes at www.myspace.com/buckofive...
bands
Have you tried to get pokerface to play? They are great! www.pokerface.com Ron Paul for President!!
Pokerface
They're my new favorite band! The RP video on their site really rocks. I didn't spot any misspellings in the video. Very unusual. :)
pokerface
we did not approach them. for the moment, we are making this a very local atlanta event.
Poker Face - a missed opportunity
What a shame. Saw them play locally at the 2004 National Libertarian convention held at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. Have wanted to see them play locally again. Since they are based up north, this would have been a great reason to have had them down again, with just a little more effort.
mk bummed
ps is this the video of their song CALLING FOR A REVOLUTION that you are talking about?

I would love to do this in South Florida
If you can help with tips to how to go about putting an event like this together let me know. Miami has a lot of indie bands. Would be pretty cool to have a "Ronstock" or "Paul-alpaloosa."

DFW
We have someone in the DFW area that really wants to do something like this too. He is looking for a venue right now.
dfw
i spoke with him a few days ago. ideally, if he can find a venue that is sympathetic to dr. paul, they might give you the room, and in return they take the bar. as long as a lot of people show up, everyone will be happy.
Why This KILLS Me
This concert should happen in Iowa or New Hampshire!!!!!!!
Paul supporters and the Paul campaign are both guilty of this desire to have Ron campaign all over the country, when he should be campaigning almost exclusively in IA and NH. Yes, it's nice to have a concert for him in GA, but we need a concert in IA or NH MORE, because press there will get him the exposure he needs to become a driving force by the time of the primary.
ia and nh
there should be concerts everywhere, but i agree that some ron paul rockfests in ia and nh asap would be a good thing.
if there is anyone out there from ia or nh, with some music industry connections (venues, bands, etc.), please let me know how i can help.
i am sure there are bands in the area that support ron paul
i am sure there are bands in the area that support ron paul
failing that and further more i am sure some of those who are playing in these events would be willing to travel for the cause or could be persuaded exposure is always good, so there is essentially nothing stopping these states from putting on something bigger appart from organisation time and ability. Which i am sure they can and will muster. I can see now a Ron Paul entertainment sector that becomes trained in the art of putting on these big freedom fests and can facilitate a series of big and smaller rallys over the course of the campaign, they can tie up with things that the main campaign is doing such as the Newhampshire walk a series of music events over the course would provide extra inspiration engergy to the campaign, i am sure ron paul will be happy with your work on his behalf
all things are possible
rp entertainment sector
all good revolutions come with great music.
i have emailed the campaign the press release and poster.
and yes, if the campaign wanted to somehow tie in ron paul rockfests all across the country with the larger campaign, i'd love to help out.
i'm a former musician, i manage a venue 3 nights a week, i worked at geffen records back in the 90's, and i own a grassrrots marketing company (www.hatchetman.com).
anything for dr. paul.
Or better yet...
If you think about it, I'd hope that what you meant would be to say "A concert like this SHOULD ALSO happen in Iowa & New Hampshire..."
...And in every state with a good Meetup group, that knows a few bands that would be willing to participate.
This doesn't sound like a nationally-sponsored idea from the Campaign HQ - it sounds like an enterprising and resourceful Meetup group's idea.
Iowa & New Hampshire are extremely important, because a win in either state would FORCE the evil MSM to deal with Ron Paul, just in the nick of time to let people in the February "Super Tuesday" states know that "their vote won't be wasted" for Ron Paul. (I DESPISE that false argument, btw.)
Wow this is awesome
This is such a great idea. I wonder if there is a way for this to be set up in big cities across the country. New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix, Boston, etc. This would be such a huge draw and would create so much cash for the campaign. Keep up the good work and keep rockin.
other cities, hell yes!
if it isn't already obvious, i would love to help organize ron paul rockfests all over the country!
i believe we have a great and easily repeatable formula for combining music and fund raising to benefit dr. paul and the revolution.
we can't wait until oct 25!
if you have a video camera and can make it out, please do so.
This is way cool !
.
I hope that Ron Paul, or Rand, or somebody from the Paul camp can attend this event. These people are doing something really fantastic and they would probably love it if a "big" from the campaign showed up.
I also hope they record it and release a CD.
Good going, Chance ! You da man.
thanks
yes, if some 'big' from the campaign showed up, that would be great.
good idea on the cd. while were on good ideas, you've got me thinking...
is there anyone out there reading this who could help with possibly webcasting the event live?
