RedState: Nasty site.

"Ron Paul is a pencil head, leading a jacquerie of wicked idiots.” - Richard Brookhiser

This caught my eye.

I don't often see name-calling of this stripe turning up in my Google search, so I clicked on the link and landed at RedState.com. What I read disturbed me. I suspected this kind of comment had to come from either a neo-con or CFR person, so I did a search on Richard Brookhiser. Yes, he's a member and a top writer for The National Review. So why is he engaging in name-calling?

I posted a reply (as I often do at various news sites). In it I explained that Brookhiser was CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) and that, since 1919, it has a long and successful history of steering U.S. policy. It is the CFR we have to thank for the U.S. being involved in the United Nations, NATO, GATT, the WTO, NAFDA and the likely North American Union (on schedule for 2010). It is an insidious organization with extraordinary power. David Rockefeller is a key leader in the CFR and has written in his memoirs that not only does he think a one world government is an excellent idea, he is proud of it. Well fine, except nobody voted for David Rockefeller, or Richard Brookhiser or any of the other 4,500 members. This reeky organization also includes the following presidential candidates: Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, Romney, Clinton, Edwards, Obama, Biden, Dodd and (maybe) Huckabee. This is not good.

I posted a polite response, pointing out much of the above. Within a day I was blocked from the RedState site, and now I cannot access the web page: my IP address was also blocked. I have since learned that it was Erick Erickson, Editor of RedState, who didn’t like it. Here is another, from http://www.erickerickson.... "...we call Ron Paul supporters MoRons."

I think Erick got a little antsy when I pointed out that Ron Paul posed a threat to the CFR/Neocon agenda, had millions of supporters, had done well in straw polls and was a towering internet presence. I also said that the CFR was clearly anxious about Dr. Paul, and all they could do was to stand on the sidelines and call him names, such as "pencil-head" or his supporters "MoRons."

I frequently post on various news sites: Slate, USAToday, The Baltimore Sun, Huffington Post, Freep and others. We posters engage in spirited debate and it's fun. However, when RedState slams the door, Erick has shown his cards: CFR / Neocons up to their bibs. I encourage you to visit: http://www.redstate.com/, register, post, and have a ball.

TO DAILY PAUL FRIENDS:
If you post a comment, please keep it on the topic.

LATE HIT:
After reading so many fine responses, I realize it would be best to not waste any more time on this site. There are some other really good ones, which are welcoming and fun to visit.

Re: Question for Ron Paul supporters.

A post at RedState asked the question: 'If Ron Paul does not get the republican party nomination, will the Ron Paul supporters still vote for whomever does get the nomination (Romney, Giulliani, Thompson)? '

I didn't want to make an account there so I will just post my reply here. I really think that it's a moot point because:

RON PAUL IS THE ONLY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE WITH A HOPE OF DEFEATING HILLARY CLINTON.

Choosing to support any of the aforementioned 3, or whomever does get the GOP nod (except for the good Dr.), will be fruitless as the key to Ron Paul's potential is how his message transcends party lines and motivates many who would not normally vote at all.

So if the GOP decides to go with the 'safe bets' they will in actuality be throwing away many votes from those who don't normally vote and would vote for Ron Paul, as well as be losing votes to the other parties (Democratic and Libertarian mostly) from their traditional voters whom Ron Paul would be able to win over.

Who is RedState.com

Never heard of them.
Can't be that important, if a internet political junkie like me has never heard of them.

Maybe they're trying to capitalize off of Ron Paul's internet support by running a hitpiece on him.

Erick Erickson

.
Is a lawyer and political activist (Thompson supporter) from South Carolina.

His personal blog site link is in the main post and you can go there if you are curious. He considers himself a political junkie also.

if you go to it and click on

if you go to it and click on the bio's. they are progressive reupublicans and support the current state of disarray. I have fun last night on there.. mostly good people with a few neocon "live in the matrix" un-informed people.

They are communist

I mean, redstate? C'mon atleast give conspiracy theorist something to work on.

Ron Paul 08

Yep!

I will not give them business by clicking on them.

Hi zenpiper, I'm told that...

www.newsbusters.org has more traffic than Redstate, and it frequently gets mentioned in major media outlets. The 2 Ron Paul defenders (yes, there are only 2 of us, vs many name-calling types!) there would welcome any of you who can avoid being profane (that gets you kicked off). Usual rules apply, it's a good idea to hang around for a week or 2 before posting to get the lay of the land. The blog is about political media bias and is published by the conservative Media Research Center, but I regularly rake both the left and the right over the coals, and so far I've not been banned.
JMR

Great to know - thanks a lot.

.
This forum is the perfect place to share info about other sites, and I am really glad to know about newsbusters.org. I am never profane. Oh wait. I said moosepoop once.

Anyhow, a really good nugget of info. Great to know.

Ridiculous

Some of the comments brewing on redstate.com are ridiculous. For the most part not even worth reading. I posted one comment how I thought torture was an unacceptable practice, especially against enemies that we ourselves create then got a few strange responses. But guess what? Those responses reminded me of the rest of the slandering Candidates in the Republican party. They just laugh and make comments like my IP address is logged and the mother ship is coming to get me? Then there's this baby in a box comment?

http://www.redstate.com/b...

It was my first and last post to that site. Yes, there are some nice folks on there - mostly Ron Paul supporters from what I can tell.

Man, I'm going back out now to hand out flyers.... If those aren't incentives I don't know what is.

Congrats RP for raising a nice chunk of $$$ GO RP!!!!!!!!

redsate.com blocked Ron Paul searches

but with the power of google search:

ron paul site:redstate.com

and if your ip gets blocked ( i know someone suggested a work around, but just in case), im pretty sure u can use google language tools as a proxy. just input "redsate" in the "Translate a web page:" :

http://www.google.com/lan...

RON PAUL 2008!

Great - !

.
Thanks very much. I was looking another free anonymous software package called Tor. But I will check out the 'mouse.

In the meantime, mosey over to RedState and see what's cookin'.

I hope some of the RedStaters have seen the post and comments.

Hide your IP Address

You can hide your IP Address by going to a web proxy. One that I know of is hidemyass.com. There you will type in the sought after address into search box. Your IP will be hidden and theirs will be used.

Try it out!

Very cool

.
Thanks for this. Sounds very good. I like the one-time use bit, without having to downloand and install software.

Thanks FL. You are one of the good guys.

Just tried it - got to RedState.

ZEN

Go look at my post on redstate before they delete it Tim Kelly in Austin a.k.a. Ahrimangate and Honorgod

http://www.redstate.com/s...

Would love to, but...

.
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This means (as I wrote) that Mr. Erickson has effectively shut me out.
But! Can you just block & copy it over here?

I love the responses this time. Paul supporters really go to bat for each other. That is just way cool.

Was this posted twice?

there is a blog called RedState CFR/Neocon and now it is gone.

I replied to that blog entry.

I created a blog entry on that site and was banned by them after I defended my position.

http://www.redstate.com/b...

that site is an echo chamber and maybe not worth the extra attention.

Yes, sorry.

.
There were some asinine comments that had nothing to do with the subject. That is why I deleted it and reposted, with the request to please stick to the topic.

Yes I remember your post from before - thanks a lot. Thing is this. Erick Erickson is a little bully that, apparently, gets away with tyrannical behavior on his web sites. I think it would be just ducky if, say, 10,000 people all sent him pro-Paul / anti-CFR comments. Nothing wrong with that, is there? People just expressing their views.

Mo' Ron

I am okay with being called a MoRon as I indeed DO want Mo' Ron. I want Mo' Rons in Congress, Mo' Rons in the state legislatures, Mo' Rons in black robes...

Mo' Ron! Sounds like a war cry to me!

Doesn't bother me at all

I can live with being called an idiot, moron, terrorist or wicked.

But they can't call us Zionist kikes, warmongers, or liars, which they are themselves.

Nix the racism

We can do without racial slurs like that in the future, thanks.

I agree

.
There have occasionally been some pretty rude remarks on Daily Paul, and don't like it either. There are plenty of other forums, I am sure, that are racist and mean-spirited, but this is not one of them.

High Anxiety

The anxiety level of the neo-con/CFR folks seems to be increasing proportionally with the level of cash donated by us MoRons. That they can't stand debate or the truth shows their true colors.

there was a post on redstate.com

which quoted from the same and then that person continued with a fairly juvenile rant on RP. I did reply to another commenter who seemed to think no true conservatives would be out waving signs. In fairness, when RS first came about in .. oh I think it was early 2004, the discourse was a lot more serious and there were few personal attacks. Even now, there are still some thoughtful articles/posters - granted I may not always concur- but at least reasonably thought out viewpoints. But like so many other 'group' based sites on the net, things go downhill over time.

This was my reply:

I've made it clear in comments the past 6 months here that I support Paul - actively so. I've voted "R" since 1980. While it is true my local group of 'Paulites' (or whatever you want to call them today) includes a few lefty converts, we also have a number of true conservatives who have worked on past campaigns of conservatives and have had political jobs in the federal government as a result. And yes Leon, they have not only made a few signs, they've waved them too. In public gasp!

The bottom line here is that what passes for the Republican establishment today is scared to death of Paul and what he represents. They certainly can't be happy about his ability to raise money - $600K in just past three days online, no dialing for dollars, no strong arming, at this pace he will have $1M in the last week of the summer quarter. Of course, Romney could just cut a check that size for a few cars - or maybe he has to float 50% of his campaign this quarter.

Say what you want about Paul supporters (there cant possibly be anything left bad to say that RedState owners haven't done themself), but they are the only motivated political supporters of any candidate, D or R.

And last - I find it all to funny how many on RS practically fawn over Rudy - the same ones who mocked me a year and more ago when I said he was a credible candidate and they would be foolish to misunderestimate him. Perhaps you are doing the same thing with Paul now.

rant.st views on finance, politics and science

How true

.
I can just picture old man Rockefeller, in his slippers, squeezing his bony fists and muttering, "Curses!"

HaHa "Curses!"

Now that is a funny image senpiper. Thanks for the Chuckle.

This is a little off the thread but, as an avid reader of American History it is astounding how much the Ron Paul rEVOLution resembles the years prior to the founding of our beloved nation. Check it out, it will make you proud to know how closely we are all following the foot steps of worlds greatest freedom fighters.

A million dollars

And that people are giving Ron $1M in 5 days that he won't get his greedy hands on has to be particularly galling to him.
