URGENT - we must start thinking about peaceful resistance and plans in case bad goes to worse

Many of you have become more and more educated as to what exactly is going on in our country, and the world. However, I don't think some people quite understand the monumental change we are about to experience as a nation, and, I fear, it is not going to be positive. For those who call us conspiracy nuts, I don't quite understand how you can reject all of history, declassified projects, news reports, and interviews, as the evidence for what we are claiming is MASSIVE.
This thread is meant to bring about a healthy discussion as to what we, as revolutionaries who understand the nature of the evil that is being set up against us, can do to protect ourselves once the dollar crashes. For those who understand economics, you know that economic power and political power go hand in hand. Once the dollar crashes, and we fall into a bad recession, the politicians will move to place further restrictions upon us and will continue to intervene in the economy which will bring a full on depression (whether they act wittingly or not, this will probably happen). A depression will massively detract from We the People's political influence, and just look at how small it is to begin with. To think that our power will shrink that much further is a very frightening thought. Even more frightening are all the FEMA camps that are being renovated and prepared for people. If you doubt this then here are a few interesting links that will show you what we are up against:
You have the infastructure (FEMA camps), the personnel (military or blackwater type), the incentive (bankers would like to buy our infastructure for pennies on the dollar and gain mastery over us in our time of chaos), the power structure (just look at our federal gov), and the new laws in place (HR 1955, etc, all of Bush's crazy executive orders) in order for them to accomplish this. The only thing that holds them back, from what I can tell, is that we still wield massive economic influence and thus, although it is steadily shrinking, still enough political influence. Also, believe it or not, there are still patriots left in the government.
Now for my personal suggestions on how to deal with this to ensure continued liberty, and I would ask that everyone input their own ideas and critique mine....
1. Peace is ESSENTIAL. We must remain peaceful, even when the hammer starts coming down. It is my opinion that going on the offensive would be DISASTEROUS, as it would give them the reason they want to hurry their plans forward, as time will be a key factor for them. Of course, I would suggest resistance if they invade your home and try to hurt your family, then you are acting well within the limits of the Constitution. Resistance at this level will be key into continuing the true perception that we are a peaceful peoples just defending our life and property (and that we are not "domestic terrorists"). You guys can go to the camps if you want, but in my personal opinion its better to go by gunfire than by torture or withering away in a camp for years on end.
2. Learn how to use a gun, take classes, and buy a weapon (an assualt rifle would be best IMO). I do not suggest this because I want to increase the likelihood of confrontation, but, just the opposite, I want to stave off any attempts at controlling the American people. You are well within your rights to defend your family and your property, and I suggest you prepare yourself to exercise that right. Also, if this really caught on, it would have the effect of spiking gun sales, which might cause them to think twice about what they are doing. Disarming of the populace is absolutely KEY for them to be successful. If they disarm us and get us into the camps ITS ALL OVER. Think about it.....could blackwater really police America? They are MASSIVELY outnumbered, and so it is essential for them to move large numbers of us into camps where they can assume total control over our actions. They will show up at your door and demand your weapons, and will cuff you and take you to a "processing" area where you'll be directed to one of the holding facilities. The solution to this? I'm not sure......maybe find or construct an excellent place in the home where you, your family, and your weapons can hide until they conclude that you have left.
3. BUY GOLD. I'm not an expert in economics so can someone please follow up on this with some better advice. In my understanding, we should get rid of all our dollars so that we are not deprived of our wealth when the greenback comes crashing down. If the revolutionaries still have their wealth then we will be able to garner some meager political influence. We must counter any attempts by them to set the deprived masses against us, and must get as many people to our side as we can, INCLUDING defected military personnel.
4. STAY POSITIVE. I know it sounds corny but you will understand once the fear sets in and the masses realize what is happening. Fear will be our utmost enemy, because that is what they will use against us (it is the only means of persuasion they understand). We must give the masses the hope they will need to join us in protecting property and family.
5 RUN FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT. It may be too late for this one, as the recession has already set in and we may be dealing with these problems within the year. The more time the economy gives us, the better. As such, the more patriots we have in local government the better chance we have at resisting martial law peacefully and politically. The more political influence and peace we can use, the better, this will be a HUGE advantage. They will require the compliance of local governments to effectively enact martial law. Why? Because if patriots see people being deprived of their weapons and being cuffed and transported to a "processing facility" then they can signal others still in their homes to resist or be transported.
6. CONTINUE THE INFO WAR. There WILL be false-flag operations used to increase their claims that they can invade our rights. We must work hard to debunk the false-flag ops and continue to show the public that the answer is not more government intervention, but a return to the Constitution. One thing they didn't have in Nazi Germany was the internet, and I believe this will be a powerful tool in debunking government propoganda.
This all may sound far fetched to some, but I assure you it is not. Why should we be so naive to think this cannot happen? Because the mainstream hasn't made a peep? Because everything still "feels" normal? Once the economy sinks people will become naturally much more willing to give up their rights. Once this happens certain areas of government (exec branch probably heading all this) will start using fear much more aggressively. You have to understand that these people may seem nice on TV, but they are RUTHLESS in what they will do. They may not be personally violent but they will command others to incur massive human rights violations in order to accomplish their goals. If they are willing to kill and torture Iraqi families, then you better believe they would do it to you in a heartbeat. This is when the reality will set in for the masses, and this is when everything I am saying now will make perfect sense. Once journalists start getting kidnapped and their toenails ripped off, people start abiding tyrannical anti-speech laws.
I would not create this thread if I was not DEEPLY concerned about our well-being. It is time we start talking in realistic terms and start trying to figure out how we can save liberty while incurring as little violence as possible (this is why some political influence will be so beneficial). Please, critique my ideas and start coming up with some of your own.....we were naive as a nation for too long and we have taken our liberty for granted. If we do not act I fear it could be lost for a very, very long time.

Even in a mad max world gold will be considered valuable and will buy food, water, clothes, and gas. It's been valuable for thousands of years even during ancient, primitive times, no reason why it wouldn't be again during a total collapse.

Unless there arose some practical use for it (unlikely, since other soft metals of similar usefulness are more readily available).
Primitive cultures weren't as primitive as we tend to think they were. They didn't live like animals in a constant struggle for survival. The average hunter/gatherer society spends the same amount of time "working" (acquiring food, etc.) as a modern nine-to-fiver. Assuming plentiful food, they'd have as much free time to appreciate shiny things and craft them into pretty trinkets as we do. For proof of this, read the journals of Christopher Columbus. Note the first thing that caught his eye when he met the Arawak.
If it ever came down to a "Mad Max world," with little hope that stability would return any time soon, I'd trade a hundred tons of gold for a good rifle and a case of shells.

Not every one person or his family can be truly prepared to endure ad infinitum. It takes the collective force of a people so united at the hip that they are willing to help each other out ad infinitum.
It is however very important for evey person to revamp one`s own lifestyle according to true needs .
Get out of debt.
Outright ownership of goods and property.
Keep emergency moneys within easy reach
Personal defense is a must but it requires also allies as well.
Learn as much as possible about everything that will keep you safe and fed.
Gold can`t be eaten , it will not fuel the car or pickup
Most importantly rekindle your friendhips and make new ones because in times of need friends will exchange with you those things that are necesseties for either of you.
The enforcers will not be familiar to anyone because it make no sense that they should be. They likely will be
from a pool of trained mercenaries that have no ties to the people.
Lastly we Americans need to remember that unity is our only real defense against any form of tiranny foreign or domestic and neither can be combatted successfully if there exists only fragmented patches of solidarity amongst tiny groups of people

In one post, you'll blast away at anyone who suggests that the military and police are anything but our best of buds, people whom we ought to obey at all times. In others, you call them the enemy and attempt to scare us with threats of attacks from remote control planes, and the OPERATIONAL functioning domestic surveilance programs. You're nuts, and your attempt at recruiting support for your fully baked positions is as transparent to me as your purpose in doing so.
We're not violent Dave. We just want our civil servants to do their jobs which is to say we want them to serve the public interest. But we're not whimps either. Keep that in mind when you make your threats.

This movement has so many powerful forces fighting against it, that we would not even try if we really knew what we are up against. Real Example. I needed my water heater and ductwork redone. I lacked the cash for outside help. One of my best ladyfriends had a handy man guy who had done a number of them. Because he was "in love" he did what she asked him, but there was a 3 way barter. I helped her edit a big school paper cuz she hates to write - she paid me with 'boyfriend labor' and i in turn did some computer work for the man also. We all got some work done that we did not want to do, by doing work we loved to do. The lady just loaned out the guy, becoming a 'broker' in a way, but - you see it all came out ok.

Watch for it playing now on PBS. "American Experience" WWI vets assembled in Washington, trying to get their Bonus Pay - to get them up to snuf with those who got paid at home in factories. They had a leader of sorts. They camped in shanty towns, were organized and were peaceful. When trouble started, they sang America rather than get violent. Congress repeatedly f*cked them over. Lied to them, denied their rights. It was the depression - they had nothing, and could not get what was due them.
The military and cops were all over it - waiting for one excuse to attack. Finally, one person threw a brick into the police or military and all hell broke loose - vets died. There was something about crossing a bridge - i would have to find my notes - but i am gonna research this. It was a fantastic example, because there was no mass-media TV crap - they just did it word of mouth i guess. It grew to tens of thousands. Finally Roosevelt got it done - and they got their pay. But man, what a story! It needs a movie - hmm, i'll get right on the screenplay.
The event was LANDMARK because it eventually led to the G. I Bill of Rights - or so this documentary said.
So, my input is, FIND EXAMPLES of how it has been done before and study these examples and learn. Plus, i like all of what has been said in the original post. I have been making calls to beef up my arsenal also.

FINALLY - i still like the idea of arming everyone with a special LAPTOP that can receive our alternate signal. Our own "Emergency Broadcast Network". You need communications equip. Ham Radio operators were on the internet ining 145 MHZ links years before you had access. Also HF bands are almost empty and CW - (morse code) is easy to learn.
Get you Ham Radio ticket ASAP and have a radio station ready to roll. Communications is also a skill that can be bartered.
If there is time you should try to relocate to lessor efffected populated areas such as Pierre, SD, etc. People in the Dakotas can hunt and fish to survive year round.
Speaking of the Dakotas, no other place could you afford to get off the grid. Land is cheap. Wind power is everywhere and organic gardens are easy to produce. Start thinking what you would do if they shut off your natural gas or electricity.
A pilots licence would also be a plus incase you are in a more populated area and need to bug out.
If you have a house w/ crawlspace have a tunnel so you can escape when they start going door to door.

What happened is the local currency became indexed to another more stable currency and everything began following the same indexation. Salaries, rent, gas, food, everything. Prices were changing by the minute but nobody cared anymore because the local currency became completely irrelevant.
So it's not the end of the world. People weren't killing each other. On the contrary, there was a lot of help from one another. No one starved. People get very open hearted and generous and civil during a total chaotic situation. On top of that there was a military coup and the secret service was everywhere! Phones were being tapped and some radical people began to plant bombs in the houses of bankers (imagine why?), dirty politicians, big corporate buildings, so on. Obviously that could not be tolerated and many people were arrested and tortured. Really bad times. I used to ride on public transport to go to school, and live as normal a life I could. I had little fear. You just get used to it. You try and stay out of trouble and help your friends keep their cool not to end up disappearing. We may well be headed in that general direction.
It's sad for me to see that happening. What comes after that is even more sad. Education really goes down under a fascist state. Everything is controlled and watched.

Wars and rumors of wars have been going on for centuries. Also, nations have been rising up against nations... for centuries.
I too am a Christian, but I do not subscribe to this nonsense eschatology of gloom and doom. Scripture says Christ will be victorious. Granted, that does NOT mean the US will be victorious; what it does mean though is that an optimistic view should be coveted as opposed to this LaHaye junk of despair which only leads to self-defeatism and irresponsibility.
Even the Ninevites were prudent enough to follow the instruction of God in rebuilding the wall. But they did not drop their guard and assume any safe assylum. No, in one hand they had a tool for their days work and in the other hand their sword or spear to fight off the aggressors in case an attack reared it's ugly head.
This is not really intended as a direct reply to the original poster,directly above. Rather, it is intended to request that other Christians stop spreading this VERY DAMAGING and Scripturaly indefensable attitude of LOSING.
One thing is certain... if you already have it set in your mind that you will lose based upon some loose interpretation of Holy Scripture, you may as well quit now because you have already defeated YOURSELF.

God tends to use a template through history to communicate how he does things. For this I look to the Flood and God providing a place of safety and refuge for Noah, Then again with the exodus from Egypt and God exempting the land of Goshen from the wrath until the final plague where he protected the obedient of his people. I like #1 and #6. The other points have merit too, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Having a few guns is not a bad idea, and knowing how to use them is good. I would say it's alright to be prepared, but let's not make this a Y2K type thing. I don't see anything positive coming from talking about the end of the world here. All it does is breed fear and negativity.
Getting involved in the political process is where it's at. If the wrong people are in office then we need more people like Ron Paul to come out of the grass roots. Become the politician. Become the Senator, the Congressman, or whatever either on state or national levels. Support those who have similar beliefs to you. Read a lot of books. We can all see what happens when you don't... *cough* Rudy *cough*... hehe.

When hard times hit no one will have any money to buy the gold so there will be no way to cash it in. So now gold is on the rise but at some point it will start to collapse like everything. Buy T bills the fed will ALWAYS PRINT MONEY TO KEEP THEM GOING

Seriously, you can't be serious! When hyperinflation inevitably hits, anything like T-bills that is dollar-denominated is going to TANK like a lead sinker. They might be good for novelty wallpaper someday, that's about all.
Now, true, if things REALLY go to hell, there will be a point where gold and silver will not be as valuable as food, clothing, etc. But that is REALLY a worse-possible-case scenario --- a Mad Max post-apocalyptic world. And if that does come about, I guarantee you, your T-bills will not be worth the paper they are printed on.
T-bills are nothing but a promise of the government's; are you REALLY going to put your faith in THEM?

Yeah what has violence ever gotten us...Except Freedom and Liberty..What would have happened if the 13 colonies had advocated a non-violence? I believe non-violence is always the first,second,third,fourth step in resolving this, but the fifth step is armed resistance.

"All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives;"
If 218 Congressman don't originate a bill for raising revenue to fund an oppressive, despotic, & unconstitutional activity...there's NOTHING that the Senate can do about it, nor the President or the Supreme Court.
