New ABC News Smear

From the ABC news official website. Look at their review of him. I'll let you guess which point is contentious...

Shame on the Main Stream Media. I hope it dies out sooner rather than later.

Ron Paul
The fiery libertarian and obstetrician known as "Dr. No" has a volatile, on-again, off-again relationship with the Republican Party. But, fueled by a small but devoted following, Rep. Ron Paul is running for president as a Republican in 2008. Unflappable and uncompromising, the Texas physician is anti-tax, anti-big government, and a staunch defender of personal liberties. Paul would do away with the income tax and IRS, the Federal Reserve, the Department of Education and the Department of Homeland Security. He would end the war on drugs and encourage American farmers to grow marijuana plants because the hemp they produce is high-quality and affordable for textiles. Born August 20, 1935 outside of Pittsburgh, Paul graduated from Gettysburg College in 1957 and Duke University School of Medicine in 1961. Paul boasts on his website to have delivered over 4,000 babies during his medical career in Texas. He is serving his tenth term in the House of Representatives.

MSM is dying, don't worry.

The always lead off with "Libertarian" even though he's been elected ten times to Congress as a Republican, all because he ran for President once as a Libertarian in 1988 (of course against the first Bush).
I would expect no less of Paul then.

Hemp Plants, not Marijuana! Morons!

Hemp plants are legal in every other country, except the USA. Hemp is an easy to grow weed; no pesticides needed. That is why it is popular among environmentalists for textiles over cotton, which requires pesticides.

Hemp plants, grown for textiles, have low levels of the drug that gets you high in pot.

MORONS!!!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

I may be a vegetarian, but I'll defend to the death my right to eat pork!

Propagandists, not morons

If only it were true they are just morons. I think not. These are propagandists doing their best to turn people against Ron Paul with misrepresentations of his platform, designed to scare people away from him without outright lying. These people aren't ignorant and innocent; they are our enemies. We must keep fighting with the truth.

Headache anyone?

smoking industrial hemp would give you nothing more than a pounding headache.

Delegates?

Didn't Dr. Paul win 2 delegates in Iowa? They say he got none, but I think they're wrong.

they have betrayed us, pure and simple....

The media has outright betrayed the American people by being in bed with the establishment. The media is supposed to be free market and has the responsibility of keeping the people informed so they can resist the culmnation of power. Unfortunately, they are in full compliance and are having the exact opposite effect: they spread ignorance and fear in an attempt to screw up how we perceive the world.

I'm excited to see their market shares plummet though, I smile every time i see those conglomerates continue to fail.

"Truth is treason in the empire of lies." - Ron Paul

This is misrpresentation & no reference to being a veteran

They left off the fact that Ron Paul is a veteran, but not the others. No other Republican had these kinds of disparaging adjectives and lies.

"Fiery Libertarian"
"Unflappable and uncompromising"
"volative, on again, off again relationship...."
"fueled by a small but devoted following"
"encourage American farmers to grow marijuana plants"
"boasts on his website"

If I had cancer with a few months to live, I would give ABC corporate owners some Iraq style justice for this insult.

glmeadors

Remember blowback

While I'm very sympathetic to your "Iraq style justice" comment (and I suspect you don't really mean it), you must realize how that would harm the freedom movement. We need to just keep doing what we are doing. I have faith that, over time, the truth will defeat lies. People are starting to wake up to the fact that our major media are nothing but government propaganda outlets -- I'm talking about thinking people that act and vote, etc., not the stupid, apathetic sheeple that only care about celebrity gossip; they don't matter.

As I say in the multiple emails I've sent to CNN and Fox News, "we see through you lies and that's why we are turning off our TVs en masse and getting our news from the Internet; your time is limited."

Keep the faith! And keep the Internet free!

hey!! I "passed" on their...

"match-o-matic" quiz....

"my" candidates...
1) Dr. Paul
2) Kucinich
3) Thompson (can I change this one to NONE of the above??)

Hemp Textiles are Valuable

Research the history of prohibition.... Hemp for Victory - WWII,

Examine the nutritional profile of the hempseed (which by the way does not today, nor ever did contain the "dreaded" THC) The tiny hempseed has a wonderfully complete nutrional profile... perhaps more healthy for human consumption than anything else in the Plant Kingdom. Complete protein (amino acids), EFA's (essential fatty acids), healthy fat, complex carbs and fiber too. The biggest crime is we import way too much of it from Canada because we won't even allow its farming here.

Hemp Plastics, textiles(the long fibers make it very durable) paint and varnish ingredients, best birdseed ever, bio diesel anyone? and a wonderful history with our forefathers.

Dr. Paul does support cultivation, he's said so publicly. He would end the Failed Drug War.... Too bad ABC has to frame these as negative... Next time a Young Obama supporter talks about "change" maybe they ought to be steered to the ABC site.

Unfortunately his most contoversial stance in today's world is the clear support for personal liberty. The rest are just means of doing it.

I Actually Like It

...pretty factual except for the "small group" (oh well) and the "on again, off gain" relationship with the Repubs. From what I've seen it is mostly "off."
The pot part was also factual and they did qualify it with the hemp part. Unfortunate that most people don't understand it.

Thanks for the article Producer. We all need to test the temperature. But in this case, I really don't see the smear. None of the old media is going to give us the same kind of write-up they give the other candidates. Kindof doubt many people go to those pages anyway. Onward and Upward!

fonta

Seriously

Did anyone think the marijuana attack wouldn't come?

is the smear part

the marijuana part? other than that, its an okay article

ROFL... marijuana plants??

Maybe the marijuana plants have already made their way to whomever came up with that part of the article. LOL!
