Conference Call with HQ today outlining grassroots concerns
Apparently Steve Martin (posted on the worldwide message board over at ronpaul.meetup.com) has had a letter hand delivered to Ron Paul from the grassroots outlining some of our concerns at how the campaign is being run, and also a conference call to HQ.
more details here:

The Daily Dose will be great!
And the new daily paul.
Ron Paul supporters are awesome!

This is old news...
I already emailed with Steve, and he's satisfied that the campaign is taking action. He thinks the new Grassroots Coordinator hired by the campaign is a step in the right direction.
Hmmm...
Well, if you guys are so insistent and developing a list of "Intolerable Grievances" against the campaign, could we at least elect grass roots delegates to draft a letter? Kind of a House of Burgesses for the Ron Paul Revolution.
First, I would not send official correspondence with SOME WORDS CAPITALIZED. In an official correspondence it looks completely unprofessional and loses credibility.
More to point, some of his grievances I think are silly and the campaign took the right course of action; as such, this letter does not espouse my views, so claiming this letter is "outlining some of our concerns" isn't accurate
Hey Jane
Could you please clarify a few things for all of us here. I have derived from your posts that you live in New Hampshire. For the past few months you continually insert/insinuate your importance into all discussions with an air of superiority, supposedly because you have years of campaign experience, are closely in touch with "official" campaign staff, are deeply invoved with your local precinct, are a leader of the grassroots workers in your locale, etc.
Below you have been insinuating that people questioning the "official" campaign are against this movement, and that the FAILURE in New Hampshire might have been caused by the unruly grassroots people there, and how they would not "do simple tasks assigned to them", follow your directions, etc.
Might I simply suggest that if you want to take that position, you go and take a long, hard look in the mirror FIRST. IF you truly are as involved in the campaign as you say you are, and were directing the grassroots efforts in New Hampshire (or part of)......our failure there just MIGHT suggest that YOUR leadership style SUCKS.
Based upon your online personality, I could easily see how you turned people OFF, not fired them up to do whatever was necessary for Ron paul to win.
Get out of your white tower of "superiority". From what you continually tell us, it is as much your fault as any, despite your collection of experience (or maybe BECAUSE of...)
OK, here goes.
Yes I live in NH, and did not 'lead' any efforts. I was an army of ONE who invited others to do things with me if they so chose to do them. I always checked with the campaign first before I did anything, beforehand, which is something others did NOT care to do. Some would even do things in defiance of the campaign's suggestions. (And you've seen a lot of that here...)
The campaign cannot tell people what to do who are not in their employ, but they certainly had ideas about what was helpful and what was NOT helpful if asked. I'm merely telling the truth about that. Why would anyone want to do something the campaign thought was NOT helpful?
I never said the failure was due to unruly people. I said, at the beginning, some people did not want to work with the campaign -- they preferred to do their own thing. That was their choice. They were not directed by me or anyone, just given suggestions and information for how to really help.
As for my criticisms of what goes on here, I'm merely reminding people of TOS which I was asked to do. Some of you have gone far beyond the pale of what this site was intended to be BY ITS OWNER, who has every right to enforce the rules he set out. You have given our detractors more ammo than they could ever imagine. Attacking viciously the NH GOP is one thing that comes to mind -- an attack so vicious before it was even known what was going on. Biting the hand that feeds is NEVER a good strategy.
He enumerated rules for both style and content which some of you repeatedly break and then scream that your freedom of speech is being violated.
It's one thing to have neglected to do something, than to be doing something someone is asking you to STOP doing because it's blatantly damaging and then NOT stopping. And that's what we're talking about.
It's a shame that common sense is so rare.
I guess I am not really grassroots, because
I just don't see why everyone is so unhappy. I am not a control freak like many obviously are here, but I do think many of you are losing sight towards what we are fighting here. The campaign has always had a mountain to climb in front of them. The media will never give them a free pass, as every other "major" candidate has gotten. If Ron Paul had anything on his record like the other scumbags it would be riding the airwaves into every home in America. The "racist" thing is really going to kill us in the next few primaries even though its been proven false, only one major newspaper has issued a retraction and none of the major networks have set the record straight. They just stopped reporting it, so the effect is that most Americans who heard it think its true.
Stop blaming the Campaign and stop working against them. We need to be united if we're going to get anywhere by Super Tuesday. Core support is still strong, but now we have to work double time to make up for the major blows we've received from the media in recent weeks. Our goal is to finish in third or fourth in MI, SC, NV, and FL...hopefully by then the only opponents left for us will be McKennedy and Ghouliani. Can you imagine how RP will destroy them in a debate? I can. Many of you people need to get your shit together and stop the infighting. That crap only serves to harm us in the short and long terms, and if it doesn't end soon I will have to start to believe you instigators are actually neo-con spies trying to mess up the campaign.
Tomorrow is a big day...3rd place baby!
I like your attitude.
It's true there's perhaps too much bickering here and I'll do my best to restrain myself. We have become sort of a big family here and there's a lot of that in any family. In the end we all unite to get things done. It is also important that we all try and support each other's initiatives instead of creating obstacles whenever something does not agree with one's perception of what this Campaign is or is not. Latitude, please! Example, the vote count. Many of us are in favor of doing it in NH because we suspect something is not right and it's in the very beginning where we still can make changes and may be even get as far as banning these darn machines!
Instead of blasting people for even trying, it would really be nice to get support and encouragement for our initiatives. I don't see Ron Paul denying us the right to disagree with the Campaign. He mentioned that many times with a good smile that we'll do what we think is right even if HQ disapproves. That's all about Freedom!
That's what got us all involved in the first place and it is what makes this campaign so different. We're engaged, passionate, and we THINK! Imagine that! We have brains!!! Isn't that refreshing?
Anyway, back to bickering.
Just kidding!
:)
Thank You
It's hard enough with such an uphill battle than to have to be constantly fighting your own 'supporters' in addition.
Everyone should be working to introduce the candidate's ideas in a friendly and educational way -- not turning people off by attacking them.
Jane
I don't know Jane. I am not taking sides here but i do know this. Jane is about to lose this argument big time. Just watch Michigan tomorrow. Then watch this money bomb on the 21st. Why will Jane lose this argument?
She will lose b/c people want results for their money. Also, we want to know where the freaking $20 mil went. Was it used to pay rent at all of the little offices in nowhere states that don't mean crap? Who knows.
What we do know is they did not spend it in New Hampshire. Why not spend the whole frickin lot in NH? That's right, double down on NH. Spend the whole $20 mil or whatever he had on hand at the time.
I can assure you that if he had won NH (or showed) this money bomb coming up would be a different story. We would probably be well on our way to breaking a new record. We already proved getting the money was not a problem. But, apparently the problem is it did not buy us much.
But, according to some it is not our place to ask questions about what happened to the money or demand results. I suppose that attitude is fine, but until these questions are answered and results are shown I doubt we are going to have this problem much longer.
Cheers.
Ello... are you NOT THINKING????
Have you noticed the money problems the other candidates are having???? have you lookeed at how much money Huck has been able to bring in AND HE WON AND IS GETTING BUTTLOADS OF FREE MEDIA EVERY DAY??
Ron Paul DID NOT spend all the money... BECAUSE HE IS RUNNING A FIFTY STATE CAMPAIGN...
And like the tortise bro... he will WIN THIS RACE...
Have you gone and filed papers to be a STATE DELEGATE??? why not?? THAT is how you WIN elections... NOT NECESSARILY WITH JUST VOTES!!!..
I agree... many folks like you will probably NOT be there for Dr. Paul on the 21st.... or maybe even on VOTING DAY...
But Dr. Paul HAS WON 10 ELECTIONS... HE KNOWS THE CORRUPTION HE IS UP AGAINST...
HE KNOWS HOW TO SPEND MONEY BETTER THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE OUT THERE...
YOU ARE HERE CAUSE YOU THINK HE IS SMART...
GIVE HIM THE DAMN BENIFIT OF THE DOUBT... AND KICK OUT!!
I am... WHAT IS YOUR ALTERNATIVE??? EVIL?? NO THANKS!
Frugality
It's true isn't it? If RP doesn't spend enough money, people will complain. If he were OUT of money, people would be demanding to know where it all went.
Seems he can't win no matter what he does.
Not sure what you're blarging about now.
Not sure what it is you are complaining about here.
More money was spent in NH than could be imagined.
- Unlimited signs and material.
- At least 24 phone calls. I got 4 on voting day alone.
- Continual radio and TV ads.
- Every summer/fall GOP event covered thanks to me, even if it killed me and I had to lug a 60 lb canopy up a huge hillside farm in 90 degree heat....
- Straw polls attended.
And you were saying he didn't spend what? Please don't insult the campaign or the wonderful supporters who were here on a dime's notice to help...please you are just ingratiating yourselves and you are becoming the campaign's WORST NIGHTMARE. They don't have time for agent provocateurs like you.
Or perhaps you think NH is one of those nowhere states that don't mean crap?
How many campaigns have you run? Have you ever voted before this?
I was right about the NH GOP but detractors on this website do not still want to admit they ranted and raved against the wrong people.
Reality check NOW!
Okay let's look at this logically. Ron Paul has won the majority of the strawpolls, Ron Paul has the vast majority of meetup groups, Ron Paul has the most grassroot supporters, Ron Paul has received the most contributions of any other candidate even to the point of making records for one day fundraising and most importantly, Ron Paul has the message and the answers to correct the problems we fact today. So the question is:
1. Why with Dr Paul having more money than Huckabee and McCain to advertise in Iowa and New Hampshire did Huckabee win Iowa and McCain win New Hampshire?
2. Why with more grassroots support in Iowa and New Hampshire did Huckabee win Iowa and McCain win New Hampshire?
3. A person has to ask how and why when Dr Paul's grassroot supporters are so dedicated and large in numbers?
Do we blame the media? Does the media have that much control over the American people and their opinions and choices? Do we think that maybe Dr Paul has been putting all of his eggs in New Hampshire and Iowa which are two very small states when we have Super Tuesday coming up shortly? Do we ask if maybe the campaign managers are not strong enough to compete with some pretty aggressive, will do anything to get their candidate to win, other campaign managers?
It could be one thing, it could be a combination of things but one thing I know for sure and no offense to Jane but it is NOT the supporters fault. I may not now how to run a campaign as you have suggested but I am 58 years old and I have voted in every election and I take your comments personally.
In my entire life I have never seen anything like the Ron Paul supporters, no other candidate has ever earned my time or my money like Ron Paul. The Ron Paul supporters are the most creative, dedicated, compassionate and tireless supporters that a candidate could ever dream of having so DO NOT blame them.
Also, when individuals give their money, time, heart and soul to a man that they believe is the only hope for this country then they DO have the right to question a campaign about what they are doing and why. When you tell us that we as participants have no right to question them is no different then telling us that we have no right to question what our government does. I honestly don't think that Dr Paul would agree with you as saying that we are bothering the campaign staff or wasting their valuable time.
Maybe the frustration comes from the fact that all of the supporters are working so hard to get Dr Paul elected, some even giving up their jobs or contributing money that they have so little of, because IF Dr Paul doesn't win then they don't know what will happen to them, their children or this country.
This election is dead serious and probably one of the most serious issues that we will face for decades to come so I personally can understand the frustration with the results and with the campaign managers But believe me, I am so totally proud of all of the Ron Paul supporters out there that have given me hope that I no longer have to worry that I am alone in my concerns about the future of this country.
One example of supporters in my area (St Louis) is that the campaign has basically left us on our own. This has not stopped the meetup groups and supporters. They have worked tirelessly standing out in the ice and cold waving RP signs, handing out slim/jims and going door to door spreading the message. Also, they have managed to raise over $8,000 and recently put up 8 beautiful billboards in the St Louis and surrounding are to show St Louisians and people driving through from all over the country why we love and believe in Dr Paul.
No help from the campaign headquarters but it was done because supporters believe in Dr Paul and his message and this is going on ALL over the country so I save God Bless Ron Paul supporters because you are the true patriots of America with the true patriot to lead us, Ron Paul.
Here here
I have to agree with you, NoFreedom. We should be able to at least ask a few questions. Your post speaks for more than a few of us. It is not anti-RP or dissent, just honest questions.
He Can't Make Contact
If he contacted us wouldn't it make us connected to him and his campaign? I don't think he can organize with us. Someone should check the rules on this.
I'm not the least cranky....I'm as excited as the first day....just blown away by the media, that's all......the media is not getting my joy, NO WAY. They aren't worth it.
Confused . . .
Who is the grassroots? It seems we are too spread out to have someone speaking for us. Jane has one thought steve another. I think the whole mood here has gotten negative and desperate. Listen to Ron Paul's calm words at big issues. More things will get done with calm. Spread our efforts where our talents are. My Wife and I pass out 100s of Slim Jims daily. We talk to everyone we contact. We follow up. Others do other things.
Everyones perspective is from their side. That is why we are grassroots and that is why we are successful at our thing. I realize some things need further organization, but for the most part do what you can do. But at the same time do ALL that you can do. Feel good about what you have done when you go to bed at night. Fight the fight not each other!
RP08
So true..
This person who wants a regime change DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME.
Thank goodness I have had long talks with Kent about this and believe me, what some of you are doing is NOT APPRECIATED and NOT HELPFUL.
Good for you tkrpoth for being REAL HELP to get the message out in a good way. Some people are not happy unless they are conjuring up a conspiracy theory or attacking the candidate himself.
Steve's wasting everyone's time
Stop analyzing every little thing the campaign does and get out and spread the message. Can't you think of something constructive and positive to do or are you continually negative all the time?
Yeah, right! Another cop!
Nothing to see here folks, keep moving!
Please!!!
JB
Steve's comments are dead on.
I'm one of the frustrated ones and very much so with regards to the way they handled my concerns about the voting machines which sounded a lot like "nothing to see here, keep moving..." .
Now we hear more horror stories about these voting machines that the Campaign apparently had no clue happened.
Their video commercials are terrible! There's a lot more creative energy within the grassroots.
The thought "hmmm, if this is how things are handled during the campaign to get RP nominated, how will it be once RP is at the WH?". Throw stones if you want but this has been in the back of my mind since IA then got worse after NH. And I am one of the ones that donated to the max, wrote letters to people in IA and NH, went all the way to Boston for the Tea Party, got interviewed by some local TV, so on... What I'm trying to say is that I'm one of the more passionate supporters and If I am having these thoughts... it's really bad!
JB
I wont throw any stones
What is your objective with this post?
You have your doubts about Ron Paul in the white house?
Thanx for sharing your frustrations.
You should be mad cause Dr Paul promised everything would be completely fair to you didn’t he...
Anyone that can publicly voice this doubt and in the process undermine Dr Paul is forgetting what is at stake here.
War - and more War.
The final nail in the coffin of the constitution and our Republic.
A financial crisis to ensure modern serfdom.
Our children left without the slightest understanding of the country that our grandparents fought for and built with their hard work.
What am I thinking…Jbrandao is frustrated. All these petty items I just ranted on about should obviously be put on hold until these more important issues have been addressed to your satisfaction.
All I ask Jbrandao is please let us all know when your needs have been satisfied and we can get on with things.
Liberty = Responsibility
Voting machines in NH
I see these machines in NH jam up all the time, ALL THE TIME. However, there are paper ballots by law, that must be collected and counted, so it's not like the machines will have the last word. However, if Albert Howard doesn't get another $20K by tomorrow, there will BE no recount.
Bump
Information that needs to get out.
Get a life!
The campaign just hired someone to communicate with the grassroots. The first thing he did was call me and I spoke to him and posted about it on the DP.
I told him my concerns about NH, voting, the message, the fact that people didn't even know which ballot to choose until the NEWSPAPERS told them.
Second, what good does it do to speak to the person you want to oust? Who would you suggest run the campaign instead of the current people? They have worked with Ron for years.
Re; get a life
You hit the nail on the head Jane; "They have worked with Ron for years."
These NHQ top folks, are Ron's personal friends; Ron has to step up to the plate and bring in real leadership, or we will continue to finish in 5th place. To the best of my knowledge, none of his friends have ever won a presidential primary. They may be good at running a local race but a national campaign -- the results speak for themselves.
If we are serious about saving the Constitution, we need this campaign.
With the Constitution hanging by a thread, we cannot afford to wait for future elections - cannot people see how many civil liberties we have lost in the last 8 years, and the rapid increase over the last four years. If Bush does not attack Iran this year, you know for certain the next President will. How many more civil liberties will be gone in four more years? We have to win this race.
I visit a number of forums, and volunteers are leaving in ever increasing numbers because of the ---either arrogance, or lack of leadership -- from the NHQ top leadrship. Two former NHQ staff -- who left NHQ, have stated that the top NHQ leaders have made the choice not to respond to phone calls, suggestions, or emails -- they are treating volunteers like they do not matter (I am putting that in kind words).
I have worked in Non-profits and political campaigns since 1964 -- and I have never seen anything like this -- not even close -- where volunteers are treated like this.
Unless he restructures his campaign leadership now, Ron will lose the Rep nomination; then our only hope is a 4th party run (Bloomberg being the third party candidate). A four way race gives us real hope, but we have to run a real campaign to win. Real commercials, real radio ads, real brochures --- . He will not win a 4th party race with the current leadership. I doubt many of the volunteers will contribute money/donate time to a 4th party run if he does not restructure his staff.
Ron Paul --- and I know this sounds harsh -- but it is the way it really is as I see it -- Ron must select between the defending the Constitution, or keeping with his friends. He cannot do both.
Thank you Jane for your comments, and especially for all of your hard work in NH, and constructive comments on DailyPaul.
Save your signs for a 4th party run.
Kyle where is RP? Has he
Kyle where is RP? Has he even been in Michigan in the last few days? I have recieved several recorded calls, and one live call to vote for Romney, also color flyers from all the other candidates in the mail. Not to mention all the tv ad's. Nothing from Rons campaign. I dont think any of the other candidates have grassroots support anywhere near to what RP has, but we need professional tv ads and organization Why has Ron not been in Michigan to the auto plants. Or having town hall meetings. Theres only so much grassroots can do. Do we want this more then RP? If the campaign staff is not doing what they should be doing then its up to the boss RP to change that,
YES!
I think Kyle has summed up the lousy situation here pretty well. And no, Jane, it's NOT up to us to go find replacements for the inept NHQ staff --- that's Ron Pauls' job. Frankly, hanging back on the campaign by choosing his longtime friends over competence and experience was a bad, bad call.
The way this campaign has been (mis)managed is causing incalculable damage. Are you suggesting we continue to move forward (such as we are) with more of the same?
Face it: This campaign has been GROSSLY mismanaged. I see almost no evidence to refute that conclusion, and if you think we should pour good maoney and effort after bad, go ahead and do it, but an increasing number of us will not. At some point, one has to face reality, and the reality of the national campaign simply sucks.
With all do respect Jane
You telling people to get a life on here is not helpful.
No more than...
..it was not helpful to be refused help, which up to now I have not talked about much. I feel it's just as important to post my own complaints about the supporters who would not help. It was very frustrating and is the truth, for those who can handle it.
So if it is OK for supporters to be bashing the staff who have to work around all of this interruptive stuff, I have the right to complain about the lack of cooperation that was shown in some, not all, cases. It's called equal time.
Your logic is flawed
It's very similar to the "Support our troops" marketing for the brainless: "We need to support the war in Iraq because if we don't we're not supporting our troops. If we're not supporting our troops by staying in Iraq we're traitors".
I know I'm exaggerating the issue. I just wanted to bring up the point. We have brains here. We're not cattle to give strength to the heard and get milked. I believe we all know what we want and are sharing our thoughts to help make it happen.
As far as Ron Paul, he's said it many times. It's not his revolution, it's ours. If we see something we disagree we MUST bring it up and get our ideas and concerns bounced around and then take action!
JB
Fine. But YOU are not the
Fine. But YOU are not the Grassroots. No one communicated with US, and, in fact, one phone call to you where you expressed a few concerns that have not been addressed nor answered, really, shows little communication with you, either. Remember, they may have worked with Ron for years, but he did not come close to winning Pres. in 1988 and I had never even heard of him til 6 months ago. None of us liked the campaign ads, for the most part. None of us like not being responded to. None of us like the phone not even answered, nor supplies taking 3 weeks to be delieverd. Oh well. Guess since they have been there for years that is enough of a reason to keep them there. NOT.
Personally, I liked the
Personally, I liked the campaign ads, for the most part. And the ads had to reach people that are less likely to be on the internet, older people, etc... that just might not like the kind of ads that internet savvy people like.
Remember...
When RP got into the campaign at the urging of friends, he did not go to the "grassroots". The grassroots rallied around him and the message.
I would suggest you run for President in 2012 and then YOU could run the kind of campaign you think is best.
So let me get this straight..
....you would rather replace die-hard Ron Paul supporters with whom? Ed Rollins? Dick Morris? Someone slick operator who might REALLY sabotage the campaign?
Gloves off here, because I'm sick of the NHQ being bothered by all of this.
Who do you suggest? Most of you have never even voted before let alone run a campaign. You demonstrated your political ineptitude early on when you were given several tasks to do in NH and you flat out REFUSED. You had no idea how to campaign and some of you still don't know what it means to be part of a real campaign. Thankfully others took up the burden. You haven't got a clue. You are simply sucking time and energy away from a very busy campaign staff and are contributing to the problem.
People who are constantly bitching and not getting out there and doing the tasks laid out for them are just causing more problems and grief. This includes posting hoaxes here, and wasting time suggesting GLOBALIST, Socialist, or even CFR running mates for Ron Paul, as if he's going to use your input on that!
Please, unless you know what you are talking about, get a clue and stop it.
Instead of posting every train of thought that comes to your mind as if it were some new blockbuster idea, why not just get out there and do the job as it's intended to be done -- canvassing, tabling, boothing, sign waving, donating and talking to people. Those that do the work are really getting tired of the complainers.
Resident Pro
Jane
Since you seem to be the resident pro here maybe you can help a newbie out. How exactly are all of these other Republican candidates winning with no money and no grassroots support?
It just does not make sense to me. I am not attacking here but what are we missing here that the other candidates have?
Message: Check
Good Candidate: Check
Money: Check
Supporters: Check
What is the missing piece? Don't tell me it's b/c we did not press enough flesh or hang enough signs please. I say that b/c from every report i have read RP supporters dwarf any other candidates in #'s. This just does not add up to me.
I agree..
I was the one who broke the story on Huckabee's sudden popularity which I traced to Richard Haass. Any candidate NOT ordained by the CFR will be marginalized and denigrated. We have to work against that factor. Huckabee would have ended up like Hunter or Tancredo if he hadn't hooked up with Rollins and Haass. Our guy will NOT sell out to the CFR globlists. Which means we must fight all the harder.
I still have not had anyone suggest who should run the campaign?
Certainly not people who want to protest with code pink and world can't wait.
It's stuff like that which the mainstream has used to defame Dr. Paul and some of you have helped by promoting this socialistic stuff, which is at COMPLETE odds with everything Dr. Paul holds so dear.
ok first off, I have
ok first off, I have defended you against attacks from others, but I have to say that You are really pushing away support right now. I disagree with you taking this type of stand against the very people who are financing this campaign!!
We have every right to ask what is going on!
where is the advertising? Does HQ really have a clue as to how to run a presidential campaign. Now I will go back to being subdued because even here (evidentally) we have no right to ask questions. Same thing happened it the meet up group I joined.. There were 3 people that "BY GOD" would have the right to tell all the other 240 plus how things would be.
Please don't speak for me!
There are many concerns with the way HQ has been handling the grassroots support. You are nobody's speaker. I noticed from many of your posts that you have a tendency to take ownership of things. You are nobody's leader, only one among thousands of hard workers for RP.
And let me guess, you' re about to have another fit and tell me that you are no longer getting involved, etc... This is not your show and crying won't help you here! Grow up!
JB
I agree with you, JB
I am sad to see that there are some on this board, who, instead of having an intelligent discussion about some legitimate concerns raised by the grassroots, resort to name-calling and condescension to those of us, who, God forbid, may be more inexperienced in the world of campaigning than others.
Feel free to speak to what you have seen in the location you are at (NH, for example). You cannot, however, speak to events and locations that you have not been to or are not aware of. You cannot legitimately speak to the concerns of those of us who have busted our butts for the good doctor (and will continue to do so, no matter what).
Chastising people for raising concerns is divisive, and IMHO, just plain wrong.
Asking is not the problem
Merely asking what the money is being spent on is not a problem so please don't twist my comments.
I've been totally honest about what they've spent it on in NH but it seems to go right over some of your heads no matter how many lists I post of what went on here. It's as if you completely do not read. Just like with the recount info. RP won't do it because it frankly looks bad. He also legally CAN'T give money toward it because it's agains the law. But yet some of you are still saying 'RP is suspect'. Suspect of WHAT?
It's totally another thing to demand Kent fire himself.
And STILL no one has suggested who they think would do a better job. That's what I'm saying.
Merely asking what the money is being spent on is not a problem asking for where the money was spent is not the same as this other mutinous stuff that was being suggested. If you think the campaign is not spending time doing this or that, then why do you waste so much of it on trying to get people fired? Why have you never suggested anyone else to run the campaign?
I'm waiting for names, addresses, and phone numbers. Were any people suggested on this 'conference call'?
Inquiring minds want to know!
Action vs. Words
I think Jane has earned the right to question those who are playing the second-guess game. Why? From what I can tell, she's probably put in more time and effort than anyone in the campaign, and that goes a lot further than those who base their criticisms on what they observe from afar about HQ's performance. There might actually be a good reason for why HQ did or did not do certain things, but those of us removed from the paid side of the campaign might not see that rationale, and then we assume the worst!
Hiring a "name" campaign manager might have the opposite effect - it might signal that Dr. Paul isn't really about his message after all, or that his insincere about doing things differently.
I think the key is communication. Within reason, campaign HQ needs to be more forthright with the actions it's taking and the strategy it is trying to execute. I think this will build confidence in HQ amongst the grassroots supporters.
I think its because she has no life..
And has *fixated* on Paul....
Wish we had more people like her
We obviously need more people who have no lives to fixate on Dr. Paul. Wish I had the guts to quit my job and make a difference. Just like I'm sure you wish you could do more than be negative...
I've given up offering services
I given up offering services. When the Libertarian party offered us both their phone list and phone bank, I offered to auto dial. at near cost. the entire list;
polling the list to see which voters were supporters, undecided, or already decided , but not a supporter. This would have made the phone bank operation 100% more effective because the campaign callers would know in advance which list they were calling. It also could have served as a get out the vote list and potential fund raiser list. I never received a response from either HQ or the Libertarian party.
Maybe!!?
It's because, as you've all been told a MILLION TIMES, NH was so saturated with phone calls already that it was in danger of being damaging to the campaign.
When
Is this supposed to happen?
