As was indicated in a recent post, there is no longer much difference between the "parties", they're just two sides of the same coin. If Ron Paul is not the nominee, what better statement could we make than to write him in? It is clear to me that Ron Paul is the last chance for the restoration of our constitutional republic and the return to our inalienable rights as free Americans. If Ron Paul is not the nominee, at least we'll make a strong statement, and when you start to add the number of votes based on the primaries alone, that is a considerably LOUD statement as well.

Does anyone here believe that any of the other "favored" candidates will really make a positive difference to the American people???

Republicans will embrace Ron Paul after they have lost again and again and they realize there is nowhere else to go. They are in major denial as Dr. Paul said.

I do agree with people who write that talking about the difference between Democrats and Republicans is pointless; the CFR is bipartisan and so is the military-industrial complex.

The sooner people get over the R vs D mentality, the better imo.

If Ropn Paul loses the the Republican nomination most states would not let him switch parties to runfor President, but what if he ran as the VP of a 3rd party?

I repeat never vote for a guy named bloomberg to be president of the united states. I will not vote for a Dem. Or a Rep. either. I will be wrighting in Rand Paul. The reason is if a person loses in a primary and then in the general election you write him in they throw all those ballots out. However Rand Paul has not lost a primary. How bout a Rand Paul Ron Paul ticket. Sounds good to me.

I will vote for Ron Paul in November, just like I did on Jan. 15. I will not "pretend" there is a "lesser of two evils".

When evil is measured by "degrees"... Just how do you garuntee the degree of your pet candidate's evil?

It doesn't matter should ANY of the rest get elected. Their policies have no essential differences amongst them.

The only near-front runner candidate who will bring the troops homes is Ron Paul. Obama would consider going into Pakistan and Iran. And, Hillary, well, she voted for the war in the first place. Nothing she has said, as you read past her political double talk, indicates a change in policy. And, once someone is entrenched in the White House, we observe that they don't have to uphold the Constitution or listen to the people--at all.

One thing most posters don't realize as they have not done their political homework is that most states do not allow for a candidate after a primary loss to switch to independent or 3rd party. Somebody needs to compile a list of the states primary losers options. Not many options though.

I really believe that Ron has a very decent shot at winning the nominee now. No matter how much the mass media wants to twist it for their own corrupt agenda, we're really gaining momentum. But in the sad event of him not gaining the nomination and not going 3rd party, I'd vote libertarian. Probably will vote libertarian for the rest of my life after this election. But none of that matters, we have a shot at winning this, so let's win!

Edit- I agree with the GOP comment, I wonder if they really aren't aware that Ron Paul is the only chance they have at beating the Democrats. No way in hell will a little bush clone win.

Dr. Paul has stated getting a 3rd party candidate on the ballot on 50 states requires someone with a fortune. Well how big a fortune? How early does he need it and if we started now could it be done after the convention ends on 9/4 or would you need to start "greasing" the system well in advance? If write-ins aren't counted unless it's close then that seems like too narrow of a chance to be counted. If Dr. Paul accumulates a warchest that ultimately he can't use then maybe it could be applied to multiple congressional seats where he's received the most delegates. As long as there's a fallback plan to this movement it will carry on with him as leader. When Ross Perot dropped out of the race, many of us wrote him in anyway even though he didn't seem to want to pick up the pieces or have a fallback plan until 1994. If all of us agrees to 1) keep contributing, 2) keep promoting the movement and Dr. Paul no matter what, the changes will come when the winner's supporters start seeing a real dose of their self-made reality. No turning back.

After hearing the horrors of Iraq, if Ron doesn't make it in as a third party or the GOP candidate I will absolutely vote for Obama or Clinton. They are prepared to leave Iraq, which aside from the economy is the most important issue of our time, by far.

Fortunately/Unfortunately......there is NO difference between the two modern day parties. Democrats are no more terrible than the other clowns running in the Republican race. Both will screw it up royally, on Liberty might have another chance 4 years from now.

If RP doesn't run on LP or CP ticket, then I'll vote for whomever runs on the Constitution Party ticket if they get on the ballot in my state. Otherwise I'll write in Ron Paul's name. I cannot and will not vote for any Republican ever again (former lifelong Republican here) unless they are a "Ron Paul" republican.

There is no difference between the goal of the Republicans and Democrats, they just pander to different audiences. Their aim is big government which = tyranny. I cannot support either party unless they nominate true patriots like RP.

I will vote my conscience and stand up for what is right, and ignore the "wasted vote" empty argument. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

That's the reason everyone SHOULD be scared of a dem winning the presidency. I am a huge RP supporter, but the write-in is as bad of an idea as a 3rd party run would be. Sure, some of the republicans are liberal on certain issues, but at least we would be less likely to be taxed to death and shoved into socialism.

Actually, the Democrat's best friends are the other Republican candidates, who are stepping all over themselves to appeal to a shrinking base.

I'm a hardcore conservative Republican. I loved Reagan and all things conservative. You are concerned about a democrat winning, but why? What's the difference? McCain is more liberal than ALL the democrats except Hillary. Rudy is pro abortion, pro illegals, anti gun. Mitt can't decide what he should do and Huck just wants more taxes and govt. no matter what. Any slightly conservative candidate will get clobbered by the new gop. Paul, Hunter, Keyes, and to a lesser extent Thompson will get crucified first by the gop because they are conservatives. The gop wants a liberal president so bad, well let them have it. I'll have nothing to do with it because I don't want to have to explain to my Maker some day why I intentionally helped to destroy this good country.

I've voted republican for 24 years. IF Dr. Paul is not the nominee I wont be voting Republican.

All of the other major party candidates are no different from each other in matters of principle. I will probably vote Libertarian, or better yet, figure out some way to get Dr. Paul on the ballot in Virginia whether he wants to be or not.

Does the candidate have to WANT to be on the ballot. What if Dr. Paul declines to run as a 3rd party candidate, but the grassroots supporters put him on the ballot in a bunch of states anyway? That would be awesome, and it would highlight what this rEVOLution is all about. We're not about a man, we're about a message. Peace, Freedom, Prosperity!

I refuse to vote for anyone but Ron Paul, no matter what happens. The rest of the GOP candidates are warmongering fascists, and the frontrunner Dems are warmongering socialists who want to continue the path to communism. NONE of the above will do anything to halt the collapse of our economy and the end of life as we've known it.

Who would you want to see RP run against as an independent? I think he could win in a Hillary Romney Bloomberg Paul race. He'd be the only anti war candidate in a country thats 80 percent against the war.

He is going to WIN! period.

I am a realist. If he does not get the nomination he will most likely do a 3rd party run and we will fund him in it. If not I will write his name in and my conscience will be clear.

The way I play and see it is that if our man (RP) doesn't win, then you would HOPE that the worst possible choice... with the worst possible ideas wins... for the simple reason that it is hardship that causes sheeple to awaken. People need hardship to wake them up from their "fat, ignorant and happy" slumber! If our man can't get into office, then it behooves us to help them wake up by giving them a nice big mouthful of fecal based government.
