Ron Paul: Second Biggest Winner in Michigan

Mitt Romney won the Michigan primary handily. So who were the other winners in Michigan? Can you say Ron Paul?
His 6% was in many ways bigger than the 10% he received in Iowa. It's not just the percentage, but the vote count - well over 50,000 came out to support Ron Paul. Michigan is the 8th most populated state in the US.
But the real stunner was how Paul managed to receive double the number of votes Giuliani got.
Camp Giuliani will say they didn't campaign in Michigan. Ron Paul did little campaigning there either.
Worse still, Paul stomped over Fred Thompson, who Fox News claimed won last week's South Carolina Republican debate.
The significance here is that there is no true frontrunner in the Republican party while Ron Paul is performing better than two previous frontrunners.

Votes In New Buffalo Michigan
Ron recieved almost 800 votes in Berrien County Michigan. more votes were cast for democratic uncommitted, sad. But what is even sadder is that in my home town of New Buffalo, Michigan, where many fliers dvd's and signs were posted; Still Dr Paul received only 10 votes, 4 of which I know of. This truly sickens me that the status quo and the staunch voters voted for more of the same, no matter how you look at it. And the young, well I guess most of them stayed home , played video games and got high, sad. They could have changed everything and instead, they changed nothing. I am now inclined to believe that little will change because most people are clueless of what is happening around them and when it finally effects them, it will be too late. I will still support Dr. Paul in any way I can, but despite all the efforts I put in, the results were very disappointing. I guess its just too easy for most Americans to make them want real change yet. The time is comming though. I will never support any businesses or people in this town, Never. They can all, with the exception of 6, who I don't know, go to hell.
Second!
Don't be down about this race. Support is building. We may get second in Nevada, and that's with Super Tuesday a few weeks away. We will need momentum to get the thousands of delegates up for grabs on Super Tuesday and it's looking good right now! Consistently placing above these "front-runners" is making Dr. Paul look even more electable. It's taking him out of "fringe" status.
Things are looking up. We can't win them all.

You are 100% right my friend, there was little buzz up here in Grand Rapids about the primary, people are truely just to complacent, belligerent, self absorbed and stupid to get there act together.
This is so true...
people were talking about Ron Paul yesterday...they are starting to wake up.

Forums/commenting, share the facts, get involved
Hitting up the forums and comment sections of drudge.com, washingtonpost.com, Huffingtonpost.com, heck even Fox (although they have moderated out perfectly fitting posts of mine in the past, yet some get through.) can be a very good method of getting the true information about Ron Paul out there.
Also, many times you can correct mis-information that often abusive people (and some complain about Ron Paulers!) post and defend in ruthless ways. So far, my experiences have shown that by staying cool, sticking to the facts and keeping to your guns that this wins over respect on any given comment session.
Lastly, here are some interesting facts on Ron Paul (and the other Rep. Candidates) in some key, upcoming states:

Attention Ron Paul Supporters
Attention Ron Paul supporters,
Stop whining. It gets you nowhere.
We are not really doing that badly in this campaign. We’re doing much better than Ron Paul ever suspected to do. We have a lot of things working against us, so the 6-10% we’re getting is very respectable. Let’s look at the cards stacked against this campaign:
· The New Republican Party – The neo-cons stick together. Look at how the republican party in general has stuck behind Bush even when he’s a war-mongering, spend-happy liberty-destroyer. If you listen to talk radio, you know what I’m talking about. A few bold republicans have vilified Bush for his non-conservative actions while in office, but most have not.
· Apathy and ignorance – Let’s face it. Most people have no idea that the Federal Reserve isn’t a department of our Federal government. They have no idea that our leaders have turned our country, it’s wealth, and our past and future efforts as U.S. citizins to international banking interests. We have to educate them, and that’s not going to happen overnight. It’s been like this for over 100 years, and no one has done anything about it until now. At least average Americans are talking about monetary policy now… thanks to Ron Paul. The ideological platform that Ron Paul espouses fixes many basic problems we have with this country, but I’m afraid that the sheeple won’t do anything to fix it… at least not until things get much worse. No matter who we have in office this next term… demo or repub… things will get worse, you can count on it. (Unless Paul manages to pull it out somehow, of course.) Americans are still fat, dumb and happy for now. But as the dollar continues to tank, and gas prices continue to rise, and Americans continue to die overseas… that will change. As apathy turns to anger, Ron Paul’s support will rise.
· The “horse race” mentality of the American public – I was talking with a good friend of mine the other day, and when I said that the only man worth voting for was Ron Paul, he said, “Yeah, but he doesn’t have a chance to win. I wasted my vote on Harry Brown, and I’m not doing that again.” My response was, “Did you vote for the guy you thought would do the best job leading our nation at the time?” and he said yes, he thought so. So I told him, “Then your vote didn’t get wasted.” So many Americans feel they have to vote for “the lesser of 2 evils”, or to vote for someone who “has a chance to win”. It’s not a horse race. That is no way to decide who you support. But people choose to have this mentality. I used to be the same way, always voting for the republican nominee even if I didn’t like them that much… just so the democrats wouldn’t get in office. Well, now the two parties are both the same… big government, globalist, war-mongerers. So, the only way to vote is for Paul, whether he has a chance or not. No one else will change things. People have to get out of this “vote for the winner” mentality. Once again, I don’t think this will change until things get much worse in this country.
· The “Hollywood” mentality of stupid Americans – Some people look at the election as a beauty contest or a popularity poll. They vote for the one who is “so articulate” or for the one who is a “great orator” or for the one who used to be an actor. This is so stupid I don’t even want to discuss it.
· MSM and the lack of time/boots on the ground – Let’s face it, the Ron Paul movement gained serious momentum a little too late to make a huge difference in the early primaries. He’s done exceptionally well considering he is virtually ignored by the msm. (Well, they don’t ignore him entirely… sometimes they bring him up just so they can cut him down.) But to reach the people, we as Ron Paul supporters have to do it one-by-one. We can’t count on the msm like the neo-cons can. As long as Rupert Murdock owns television, we’re going to have to realize that the msm are always going to talk about Ron Paul as a “kook” or a “fringe” candidate. That’s fine. We just have to spread the word person-to-person. As things get worse in this country, this will be easier to do. As he gains supporters, he also gains more boots on the ground to spread the message even further. As his support grows, it will almost grow exponentially… as one person tells 2… who tell 2 or 3 more… and so on. This takes time and dedicated supporters. It will not happen overnight. As his support base grows, however, the rate of bringing on new supporters will increase. 3x3x3x3x3 over and over, only 16 times = 43,000,000 votes. But… if you look at it half-way through though this process, 3x3x3x3 over and over, only 8 times… it’s only 6,561 votes. That’s the power of geometric progression and exponential growth. If you look at it that way, only having 10% of the vote means we’re probably well more than half way to achieving our goal.
I haven’t tried to be discouraging in this post. We should be encouraged. 50,000 people in Michigan voted for the man who “has no chance”. The message is getting out. Even if we don’t win the nomination, a revolution has begun… and it’s growing by leaps and bounds. Just keep talking to people. Join the meetups and keep the energy going. We’ll get there. We just have to be patient. (The globalist war-mongers have been patient. They’ve been working on their agenda since the Woodrow Wilson administration. About 100 years. I think the message is worth the patient effort… don’t you?)
My 2 cents.
*sigh*
We need to start doing better. We are losing plain and simple! Dr.Paul needs to go on the attack. Both the candidates and the media try to make him look like a fool up there in the debates. It's time he went on the attack, and stopped being so nice to everyone, Attack their records, go back at the media for being so biased against him, and the fools that ask him so many damn stupid questions. Most of the American people are falling for their pathetic, sick tactics. Dr. Paul needs to start raising his voice and start pointing fingers! And it wouldn't hurt him to get a few days rest either, he is looking so drained at times. I am 65 and I would have dropped long ago on his hectic schedule. OK I feel better now. :) I let off steam! I think Lou Dobbs would make a fine Vice-President for Dr. Paul. Lets grab him before someone else does.
Paul on the drudge!

Live Free or Die.
Remind me again how many delegate he got?
You folks make me laugh...
Mr. Incredible said it best "They're constantly finding ways to celebrate mediocrity"
We need a change of plans or we're toast. Read the some of the suggestions on the RonPaulForums there's 38 pages to date.
We don't need to keep patting ourselves on the back for a handful of fifth place finishes, we need to wake up and see we're losing this thing and we need change.
We've lost any momentum we had. Ron Paul is polling in Nevada the same as any of the previous states 6-8%. Friends this is not a movement its a "stagnant."
Don't like my negativity?? Too bad. I've supported Ron Paul for over twenty-five years, he's been my write in candidate for the last 6 elections.
We need to start winning.
Suggestions might be good
.
You are right about the change of plans in order to win.
So what do you suggest?
Right on!
Good Job to RP supporters in Michigan!
Possible Scandal in New
Possible Scandal in New Hampshire Recount for Ron Paul!
01/16/2008 • by usalives
The Granny Warriors have their PayPal account suddenly froze, less than 24 before recount 3pm deadline in New Hampshire. Finding they can’t access their funds to stage a recount for Rep. Ron Paul. PayPal who is owned by eBay, Inc., also has ties to the Mitt Romney campaign. The CEO and President of eBay Inc, Meg Whitman, is known as a supporter of former Massachusetts' Republican governor Mitt Romney's presidential campaign in 2008 and is now on his "National Finance Team". She is also listed as Finance co-chair of Romney's campaign exploratory committee. This would also explain the sudden PayPal freeze of funds the Granny Warriors experienced. The recount for Republicans could possibly take away votes from Mitt Romney. Also possibly taking away from his 4 delegates.
Jumping to conclusions...
Please don't be so hasty to jump to conclusions! Seriously, all these conspiracy theories are hurting our campaign.
Paypal is an evil company and they shut down accounts and seize funds. This is not a conspiracy against the Ron Paul campaign. This is just an example of Paypal's bad business practices.
Anyone who opens up a new Paypal account and makes many thousands in a day or two is going to get shut down and have their account frozen. That is how Paypal operates.
It has *nothing* to do with the president of the company supporting Romney. Seriously, this conspiracy theory is as "out there" as the nutty BS about how the Ron Paul newsletters were "faked" and the signatures were "forged".
The only real conspiracy going on is the media blackout of Ron Paul and some high-profile anti-Paul campaigners like the jerks that tried to paint Ron Paul as racist recently. Some of the elite in power who view Dr. Paul as a threat really are trying to hurt his campaign.
But almost all of these other conspiracies, like this one you just made about Paypal, are nutty. And most people view it as such, which is sad because it plays into the media spin that Ron Paul's supporters are a bunch of kooks.
When you are under legitimate attack it is quite easy to get into the victim mindset and think everyone is out to attack you. But this is perception, not reality.
