Inspiration!!! - Part 3

"Once a man has tasted freedom, he will never be content to be a slave. that is why I believe that this frightfulness we see everywhere today is only temporary. Tomorrow will be better for as long as America keeps alive the ideals of freedom and a better life. All men will want to be free and share our way of life." - Walt Disney (in March, 1941)

The final installment of strategy, encouragement, and inspiration for RP supporters, from the example of the life of Walt Disney, as presented in the fabulous book, "How to Be Like Walt" -- this is the conclusion of my previous posts, "Inspiration!! Part 1" and "Inspiration!! Part 2".

Reminder: I'm just giving you some bullet points here. As RP supporters know, it usually takes time to understand grand concepts, and any list, like the one included here, only serves to whet the appetite. To get the meaty detail (and therefore, more understanding than the "30-second soundbite" will provide), buy and read the book -- it is well worth it. Hopefully, there will soon be a run of demand for this book by RP supporters (and no, I don't have any financial interest in the book!).

NOTE: Nothing contained herein is to in any way imply that the authors of "How To Be Like Walt" endorse Ron Paul. I present this information purely as an introduction to encourage you to purchase this astounding book, and as a means to give RP supporters a glimpse of how we can empower ourselves to charge on with greater strides into the Ron Paul Revolution!

And now, let's hit that RP "Donate" button, adjust our Mouse Ears one last time, and find out: What Would Walt Do?

HOW TO BE LIKE WALT: LESSONS 12 THROUGH 17 (out of 17 total)

Lesson 12: Live for the Next Generation
(Heck, isn't this what the Ron Paul Revolution is all about?!?)
"Think beyond your lifetime if you want to accomplish something truly worthwhile." - Walt Disney

Lesson 13: Build Complementary Partnerships (Ahem..."Pie-In-The-Sky Optimists" vs. "Realistic Pessimists" here at Daily Paul, kindly take note...) [emphasis included is mine]

"Complementary personalities inevitably clash. If they can forgive each other and tolerate their differences, they can achieve together what neither could achieve alone. But if they are intolerant and unforgiving, they will end up destroying everything they have built together." - "How To Live Like Walt" (Pat Williams with Jim Denny)

Lesson 14: Stay Focused!
"There are a lot of lessons people can learn from Walt's life -- lessons in creativity or taking courageous risks or persevering through adversity. But if you don't understand the absolute extremes of Walt's obsessions with his dreams, you can never be like Walt, you can never have anything like the success and influence he had." - Director Ken Annakin

Lesson 15: Accept Your Mortality
As we all know, our time here on this Earth is a Limited Time Offer. Knowing that, the question is: What will I do with the time that remains? What can I do today to make a difference?

Lesson 16: Make Family Your Top Priority
Great insights in this chapter about family life. For RP supporters, the corollary is clear: regardless of party affiliations or other divisions, we are a "family" of Americans. Let's make our "family" the top priority, by restoring the gift of Liberty to us all.

Lesson 17: Be The Person God Made You To Be
Sure, strive to be like Walt...but be uniquely YOU.

An interesting story in this chapter's section talks about Walt's housekeeper and cook of 30 years. On special occasions, Walt would give her Disney stock as gifts. She tucked them away in a safe place for years. Only upon her death was it discovered that she had stock worth $4.5 million. She died completely oblivious to the fact that she was a multi-millionaire.

See the parallel between this housekeeper and we Americans today: we have received a great legacy from our Forefathers, a legacy much more valuable than company stock or cash in the bank. We have received the lessons of our Forefathers' lives. Do we fully understand and appreciate what they left to us? Are we willing to let our Constitution languish tucked away in a drawer, oblivious to the wealth of freedom it provides us?

A last quote, from the authors of the book:
"You and I have so many riches at our fingertips -- yet we don't even realize what we have! We have been willing to settle for so little. We dream our limited little dreams. We rein in our imaginations. We shrink back in fear from risks and tough challenges. We give up after the first or second try.

"Walt's life challenges us to dream bigger, reach higher, work harder, risk more, and persevere as long as it takes. That is the rich legacy Walt left us."

---

Thanks for hanging with these three posts, and all the lesson points they contain. Again, I urge you to buy the book, "How To Be Like Walt" and read it cover to cover. I hope that by sharing these tidbits here, RP supporters will have found some gems to help them in their quest to spread the message of Liberty, and the Ron Paul Revolution.

"Actually, it's kind of fun to do the impossible." -- Walt Disney
