My Father is giving me hell once again about RP. He sent me an Email joke re: politics. I'm going to counter with a quote I heard but can't exactly remember how it goes. It something like : When I was young I was a Democrat than when I...a Republican and then when I got smarter I was a Libertarian.. ?????????Anyone know how that quote goes?

How about this
When I was young, I didn't understand why the world did not use force to create justice. Why not punish everyone for everyone's good. I voted democrat.
When I was a little older, I realized that the world can not use force to create justice. I believed we should use force to prevent injustice. I voted conservative.
When I was a little older, I realized that force should not be used on the innocent. Force should be used to punish injustice, only upon the guilty and I voted libertarian.

Democrats take your property to protect you.
Conservatives take your liberty to protect you.
When you're young you want protection and have no property so you vote democrat.
When you're old you have property and fear others liberty and vote conservative.
But when you are wise you vote Libertarian, a vote for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

That's really good, Hayek. Did you make that up? That could become a widespread saying. I might change the last sentence to "But when you are wise you vote Libertarian, a vote for property rights, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" to better tie it in to the first sentence. But it's your quote so who am I to meddle with it!

When I was in my 20s I was a Democrat, when I was in my 30s I was a Republican 40s a Libertarian. There's some stuff following each age too
