woo hoo!

Everyone is already affected

Everyone is already affected by the economic recession. In addition, automakers are in trouble worldwide, but it seems that the U.S. automakers are in far more trouble than others. Well, they did get a lot of bailout money, and they're looking for even more installment loans to float them in the recession. General Motors is in some of the worst trouble. They are looking for a lot more in gap financing to keep them above water, yet they have obviously lost a lot of money as evidenced by their recently posted first quarter figures. Ford is the lone wolf of the automakers, as they have only asked for stand by credit instead of direct debt relief.

I believe the markets are shaky

but trying to call a market crash is a "broken clock" scenario. A market crash is an event that is very rare and catches most off guard.

Most markets suffer bear markets which are, in a way, more devastating because they keep you believing all the way down. If you're concerned about the market, adjust your portfolio accordingly.

Just like they did with Andrew Jackson

Ron Paul will have to deal with a major money withdrawal from the federal reserve bank...and the DEPRESSION will be allowed...just my 2 cents..

GETTING THE ARMED FORCES TO HELP

THE MARCH REQUIRES MASSIVE ORGANIZATION. THE ARMED FORCES - OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM SUPPORT RP MORE THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE. SOLDIERS CAN YOU HELP US ORGANIZE THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON?

That is difficult...

...because being involved in a protest or political rally can be punishable under UCMJ. ( the Uniform Code of Military Justice)
Active duty soldiers can attend, but not sponsor any event.
" Teh Dude abides..."

" Teh Dude abides..."

If there were hundreds

at the rally, would they arrest them all?

If you wont fight for the right when you can easily win...you may...have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival [or] when there is no chance of victory...it's better to perish than to live as slaves.
W.Churchill

Well...

None of them would likely be arrested on the spot. But, they would have to face the music later. Any individual soldier who openly participated as an Active Duty soldier would have to decide if it was worth the punishment.
I would for one, and i can't speak for anyone else but many other soldiers probably would too. But to ask a group of Ron Paul supporting Armed forces soldiers to organize something like this... I just don't see that happening.

What you need is a leader, or group of leaders who everyone can get behind. One or a few persons that all RP supporters could listen to and follow. Someone who has the ability to give instructions without clashing with someone's individuality and freedom. Then, set a date that the majority agrees with, not too soon and not too late. So the word can be spread and people can prepare in time, but not so late as to not have an impact on the primaries.
RP is the one we all look to, but he is far too busy. We can't rely on him for everything.
Not sure where you'll find this person/persons. Let me know when you do.

" Teh Dude abides..."

Wow, this one turned out wrong

On Jan 22, VegasBD predicted a market crash the next day, Jan 23: "Tomorrow's MAJOR market crash"

As it happens, Jan 22 was the bottom of the market, which has since gone up 4%:

http://finance.google.com/finance?chdnp=1&chdd=1&chds=1&chdv...

How's that crash working out for you now? I love that we get to test these predictions against reality.

The Fed Slashed Interest Rates!

Markets around the world were crashing because of us. VegasBD was right that there would have been a crash if drastic measures were not taken. All it took was the single largest funds rate cut in the history of the Central Bank. The market went down, the Fed held an emergency meeting, cut rates, the market went back up. They also did succeed in taking the fear out of people. THIS IS A BAD THING!!! This 4% you speak of is what is called a sucker's rally. They solved a problem of excess credit by expanding credit. All they did was make things worse in the future. Will the crash happen tomorrow? Who knows. But mark my words, it will happen, and it will be worse than it would have been on the 22nd!

And so it begins ...

... or should i say continues?

Good time to be broke

I knew being a lazy degenerate would pay off some day. Now that everyone else is going to be in deep debt, I'll just be broke, and still have the fruits of my labor (Knowledge) to show for it!

yeah, I'm on the sidelines in this too

Same story here. I guess my 401k will devalue, but it's hardly worth anything anyway since I didn't put much into it. So... I'm just watching this thing.

I'd have been a lot busier in my economic life prior to now if I hadn't studied the "income" tax liability issue about 10 years ago. That pretty well ruined me for the life of a "taxpayer" (read: economic vampire victim).

If Ron is our next prez, I'll voluntarily pay "my" taxes, just to help dig us out of this mess. If not, then screw 'em. I'll sit the crash out with dry eyes as a pauper (but an unowned one), then start again on the other side with everyone else -- who will, hopefully, take more of an interest in sound money. This fraud of an "economy" deserves death. No system built on perpetual debt creation should ever be allowed to come into existence. It's parasitical and destructive.

I've tried to tell people this for years. "They did not listen; they did not know how... perhaps they'll listen now."

Not The End Of The World As We Know It (EOTWAWKI)

This talk of not wanting to wake up tomorrow is over done. The Fed will be there. If you doubt that then listen to this argument.

They have to keep us all working to maintain control! They have to keep the markets up to keep us working.

That's right if we all loose our jobs then they can't keep stealing from you, that's how the rich live by steeling from the middle class and poor. If we don't work then they don't have income either. If we all had no work we would all wake up at once and revolt, they don't want that either. They will try to print their way out of it, it's their only option to maintain control. That's how they've maintained control for a century. They keep us working forever by slowly stealing from us never letting us get ahead thru savings or investments.

Ben Bernanke lies all the time don't get me wrong; that's why he is B.S Bernanke. But he was telling the truth when he did his phd and when he made his pre-chair comments, he does think that the US can print their way out of a depression and that's what they are going to do.

I hope you don't agree.

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but the fed can not just print there way out of a depression (recession), obviously, the more they print the less the dollar becomes worth eventually being worthless. What good is a job that pays you in a worthless commodity? How do you buy food and goods of value for something that has no value? We have all been warned for some time now. I just hope many of us have prepared for it.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

won't notice

Well, I'm so poor, I probably won't notice any difference.

Very Timely Video

I watched this video a few months ago but today it's seems so much more powerful.

But unfortunately, Ron Paul's solution won't play well with the pundits and most Americans. The buzz word will be "stimulus package". People want action. They want someone to do something now. They don't want to hear that we shouldn't inject more money into the economy. They don't want to hear about letting interest rates move up. They don't want to hear about not spending. They don't want to hear about letting the markets work things out. They want government intervention. They're going to make Ron Paul look like he wants to sit back and not do anything. It's going to be so sad watching those others acting like they know what to do.

What is the diffrence between Recession and Depression

I know you can fill one with Dirt and another with Prozac..

From what I understand

Recession is when the economy is going really bad for a little while but when this continues for at least 3 quarters continuously (with no end in sight) it is called Depression.

(this is a simple explanation but as close to accurate..lol)

Difference

A recession is a decline in GDP for 6 successive months and a depression is just a really bad recession which has no end in sight.

Both

suck.

Here you go...

I read a great article...it said Recession is when your friends lose their job, and depression is when YOU lose your job. LOL

Just kidding....you can google it, it is a long explanation. The govt will hide the true facts from you. I feel we are in a recession right now!

Only one thing can help this market...

Whiskey! Lots and lots of it. Copious amounts have been known to cause all troubles to disappear. :)

most definatly

i feel ya on that

I almost don't want to wake up tomorrow

It's posted on Drudge as the headline too.
The market is going to have a massive drop thanks to our runaway spending.
What will happen is McCain and Romney will pretend to know what they are talking about, but Paul will be the one to shine there, if the media pays attention.

You know, this money bomb couldn't have happened at a better time, I mean because we've raised over 1 Million it's most likely Paul will be on some news shows. At the same time because of this crash he will be able to comment on this fiasco.

I feel saddened though, because many people will lose their jobs/life savings due to this crash. Many of us Paul supporters saw this coming.

"The market is going to drop thanks to our runaway spending"

The market is going to have a massive drop thanks to our runaway spending.

I don't think that runaway spending has anything to do with it; I think the US deficit is half of what it is in the UK.

I tend to look at the "systematic problems" like:

  • "peak capital" - the educated can retire but the uneducated can't-- so who's going to do the skilled work?
  • "expensive education" - the cost of attending a university is going through the roof and adding $50,000+ to the cost of training labor; additionally, our education system is becoming too much like a "cookie cutter;" we need more diversity.
  • unequal spread of wealth - the wealthy are so wealthy that inflating the currency doesn't redistribute the wealth from "non-workers" to "workers."
  • expesive houses - the cost of living is so high that companies need to outsource because they can't afford to pay for the "quality of life" in the US;
  • expensive healthcare - businesses, especially small businesses, can't afford to hire skilled labor (read over 50 years of age) because of health care costs

truth is, we're going to be forced to cut back on our "quality of life" and think about conserving our resources, etc...

We will lose a lot

Most of my husband's retirement is in stocks. That's why a retired Chiropractor is working as a gate attendant at a resort and probably will be unless we move to Ecuador. Thank goodness we have no debt and a little gold and property.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

GET OUT OF THE RETIREMENT ACCOUNT Tomorrow!

You still have a chance to get it into gold!! What are you waiting for. Don't ride a bad horse all the way to the pasture!

Don't just sit their, get up early and call your broker...tell them you want OUT!! NOW!! This is just the start of the bad times coming!!

No matter what the penalty is for pulling out now, you will win in the end if you get out of US investments now and get into gold and silver you can hold in your hand!!

The property is of no value...it will go down by 50% in value over the next 3 years...so....that is my thoughts! Just trying to help!

RP is a prophet

Like Noah preached for years and years and was laughed at; then the rain came. Ron Paul has been preaching for years and years about this and laughed at; and now it is beginning to rain.
