Friends, I know the site is slowing down. The complexity of this site is beyond my ability to deal with properly - I need to hire a consultant & developer to get the proper performance and make enhancements. It is not going to be cheap. This Chipin will only cover about 1/3 - 1/4 of the price. I am paying for the best because I intend for this site to stay around as a resource to the community well beyond the election. Please contribute what you can.

why ? I hope everybody knows that Paypal sell accounts overseas, I had this happen on my Mastercard and the lady at the bank of who my card was through told me that Paypal sells individual accounts to buyers overseas, I had charges from Britain,France,etc... so i had mty credit card stopped.
Go without Paypal and if you can't then PLEASE check your credit cards really good.

The last time you upgraded servers I told you to get the Pure titanium triple nuclear powered turbine blast proof server package...but nooooo, you had to get the Chevy. I hope this 3 grand will be able to survive the republican convention...I'm thinking a fully asbestos lined server with three to four inch thick fire walls and platinum foam dispersion nozzles...we get a floor fight and your server provider is going to need all the help he can get.

That is similar to the machine I'm running on
It is a 2 x Quad Core Xeon 5310. As you can see, it is not enough. I wish it were, then I wouldn't have to have this fund raiser.
I'm getting into the territory where I need multiple servers doing load balancing, which requires technical expertise/consulting which is not cheap. In the end, the actual hosting part (hardware) will be less expensive than the expertise required to set it up.
This is the information economy, remember? Information is power, and it ain't cheap!

For the last year, you have provided an amazing resource of information and discussion amoungst Ron Paul supporters. Much of the organising for online stuff has come through the daily paul. Thanks for your initiative and hard work. Keep going!

I have helped work with the guys at Ron Paul Radio, on the Ron Paul Web Site and also host several semi-large political blogs.. one that gets around 85,000 daily visitors all on 1 server and it loads instantly.
I have several suggestions I can help with such as optimizing MySQL's query cache, which improves performance tons. Also, there's several other cache settings in MySQL that will really help.
