Louisiana Needs Your Help! RIGHT NOW!
The Louisiana GOP Caucus is today (January 22nd) from 5 to 8 p.m. Central Time and we have a good shot at not only winning 1st place but taking ALL 44 of the National Delegates for Ron Paul.
The Caucuses have very poor attendance and so every vote counts toward Ron Paul winning. So we need you to get out the word, that every resident of Louisiana should go to their local Caucus tonight from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. central time to vote for their local Ron Paul Delegates list. The Delegates elected at these Caucuses are the only thing that matters, the Primary in February is completely non-binding in Louisiana, so the only things that matters is which Delegates are elected at these Caucuses, TODAY.
We're already filled the ballots with Ron Paul supports running for Delegate Spots, now we just need your help to get out the voters to vote for them, as Ron Paul Delegates.
The Caucus is NOT well publicized and many in the state don't even know we have a Caucus. So any Ron Paul supporters outside the state can play a big role by, CALLING anyone they know in Louisiana and get them to vote in their Local Caucus tonight.
You will find the list of Caucus locations and important information at the following address: http://www.lagop.com/
Please help us spread the word. Below you will find more information.

How do they know that?? I have not heard that down here in Baton Rouge.
Yeah, how do they know that?
I am more than happy to hear that he won. But this article doesn't seem to have any actual information in it. I am still waiting to see some results. Perhaps someone can explain why no one (outside of Paul supporters) seems to care about this caucus?
I was there
I was there last night in Baton Rouge and there were a TON of Ron Paul supporters out. I hope what I am hearing about Ron Paul supporters isnt true. I would hope they would all know that they have to be REGISTERED REPUBLICAN TO VOTE FOR HIM. I had a few people try to give me those pro-life/pro-family cards. I told them I was voting for Ron Paul. I think we need to really start pushing Dr. Paul's pro-life stand, especially down here in the south.

Why is it taking so long...this is ridiculous. Does anyone know what's going on?

Chill out man
This was all done on paper ballots. As long as the process is fair, it can take weeks for all I care. I'd rather that than a rush job.
You have to realize here, that most people in Louisiana haven't used a paper ballot EVER.
Combine that with the fact that you could vote for up to 15 delegates and alternates EACH and you might begin to see the magnitude of the count that is going on.
Louisiana I NEED TO KNOW
When are we to know how Ron did in Louisiana!!!???? I have my hopes UP@!
The empire strikes back
So the neocon candidates apparently coalesced around non-committed slates ("Pro-Family, Pro-Life" -- why not "Pro Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet"?) to prevent the Ron Paul delegate slates from winning majorities in any of the Congressional district caucuses, according to a report in the Shreveport Times. Never underestimate the forces of evil in this fight -- the GOP powers-that-be will NEVER surrender an inch to Ron Paul and they will resort to whatever tactics are necessary to prevent him from winning. They are fighting to retain their power -- it's that simple.
We can fight just as hard......

Bumpy

Facebook blogs encouraging
I've read numerous blogs on the RP Facebook group of LA voters. All say that turnout was overwhelmingly for Ron Paul. One also had inside info that results were favorable for RP across the state.
Bump...
Results??? Media coverage??? Anything??? Anyone???
Bueller?.....Bueller?.....Bueller?
Feb. 9th is when you can bet
that the media will report far and wide about the vote count
(primary date). From all accounts I've read, IF a candidate gets more
than 50% of the vote total, then 20% of the delegates from the state
convention are given to that candidate. More than likely nobody will
receive more than the 50% needed for that to be the case.
Point is, no matter who "wins" the vote on the 9th and gets played up
in the media, the real winner is the person who gets their 40 + delegates
at the state convention and then onward to the national convention
if needed.
Ron Paul is gonna own. So, in retrospect, doesn't it all make a little
more sense as to why he spent more time in LA than in FLA? ;)
Cause a win is definitely a win!
slight correction
IF, a big IF, a candidate receives 50%+ of the vote in the Feb 9th primary, they will have the 20 at-large delegates promised to them for the 1st ballot at the national convention.
That's 20 of 47 delegates, not 20% of the delegates.
Bump
Anyone know when/where the results will be shown?
Bump ----->
I can't wait to see the results...for those candidates who can still AFFORD to come here and campaign, good luck. LA is Ron Paul Country!!!
Can anyone provide info?
Is there anyone from LA that knows where/when we can get results?
Just came back from Baton Rouge caucus location
Great Ron Paul turnout 60-70% of the people there were Ron Paul supporters. Here is the real interesting news, there were only supporters for Paul, Romney, and McCain. My dad went to vote for Huckabee (despite my attempts to persuade him) but when he got there he tried to find the Huckabee supporters and delegates but he couldn't find any table or supporters, so he voted for Ron Paul delegates. But anyway, GREAT Ron Paul turnout!
Wow sounds great!!
Glad your Dad got converted to the right side!!!

This is confirmation that national campaign has right strategy
Ron Paul spending his time in states like LA provides me great confidence that the campaign is executing the right strategy.
Huckabee was a Flash in the pan. Here comes the turtle to win the race.
Good Job....

I was just thinking the same thing
If this works out, than what a brilliant move by the official campaign!
Of course Louisiana. Louisiana is just east of Texas and the two states are good neighbors. RP is likely already well know by many there. The Bayou State was not on the radar of any of the other repugs for some reason, so RP hit it hard and fast in a very under-the-radar way right before caucus. This probably helps minimize the risk of an organized vote fraud.
I'm feeling cautiousely optimistic about this one.

Just got back from La caucus

There was a list of 60 delegates. If you went to the Ron Paul table you would get a list of all the delegates but the Ron Paul names were in Bold type and you could bring this list in with you while you got the Real ballot. If you went to the Rommney table you had the same list with their names highlighted. There was an excellent turnout. And it became aggressive for the poor undecided. This is very important which is why Ron Paul visited 3 cities yesterday. There was not a table for McCain, There was for Romney. The caucus is only to vote for delegates and alternates. The primary vote is Feb 9. They may not announce the delegates right away. If they announce that most delegates were supporters of Ron Paul, then all the others President wantabees would flood Louisiana before the 2/9 primary. If any person gets more then 50% at the primary they will automatically get delegates.
Delegates
