Ron Paul, $5M Man, News from NH

Last night I attended a GOP meeting where Ron was well-represented. The meeting featured a main speaker who could herself have been Ron Paul, for her expertise on the Constitution. The talk was wonderful and although she isn't allowed to have her organization endorse a candidate openly, Ron's name was mentioned. She advised the Republicans in the audience to vote for the man who will uphold the Constitution. This provided a fantastic setting for our staffer's little speech which went on right afterward.

When I got home I stayed up and saw all the videos that were listed here that contained reports of the fundraising. I hope you keep track of them because I wonder why some now do not lead where they did the night before. The explanation for this could be that the videos are archived and the current ones are on the same link.

There was much speculation as to where Ron was yesterday. It was not a public visit but a very timely meeting with the editorial boards of the two major papers, the Union Leader and the Concord Monitor. Then I suppose once the announcement came out about the $5M, WMUR got on the ball and he filmed the ABC news clip there. Some of our alert supporters found out and did a sign wave outside the WMUR studios which is just around the corner from the libertarian watering hole that we frequent, the one that hosted the June 5th debate afterparty.

Here are the resulting pieces from the two papers:

skipping lunch....

I am skipping lunch with my coworkers everyday, and instead donating that $10 lunch each day to RP starting next week. Having it live makes this very rewarding. If we all picked just one sacrifice and gave that money to the campaign at that moment, you hardly miss whatever it is you are giving up.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we have already surpassed any individual contribution levels achieved by any other candidate before. With the press we got from $5mil, imagine the press that we will get from $12mil especially if trends continue downward for the others. It will mean we outraised any other Republican candidate! Maybe a decent margin.

Also, the campaign really needs to get organized for FEC regulations on the general election. That would open up a whole new batch of money from people who are already maxed out!

Ron Paul Live on CNN today!

about to start

Eric, I think they are smart

Eric,

I think they are smart to put a large goal. People will arise to the occasion as the month ends and they are still far from the goal.

You also have to consider that the number of supporters is growing everday, so just because the beginning of the month is slow doesnt mean it won't end up big.

new target $12m, can we meet it?

Ron Paul's campaign has set a big target for this quarter, but do we know we are going to hit it at the rate we are getting the donation? Anyone who has pursued a big goal knows that you get there by reaching small ones.

At the rate the current online donation is going, we won't make it.

We need to display how much money we need to raise each day in order to hit the target, and how much we should have hit by X days. Without this info, we won't know if we are further and further away from the $12 million dollar target until it's too late. The real-time counter has got to change.

Bravo

Nice find Jane, truly a positive piece. It seems all Dr. Paul needs is a few minutes face to face with just about anybody to win them over.

Well all one needs is a Google alert and mostly these articles are picked up that way. I don't know how the people at the bar found out about WMUR/ABC -- but it wasn't me who leaked the info because I didn't even know about it. (And would not have even if I had known.) There are some times when they cannot make visits public for obvious reasons. It's hard to make eager fans understand this and I've had to ask that people remove things they've posted that were either not meant to be public or incorrect.
