Precinct Leader, WHY?

Precinct Leader, WHY?

We need to put and end to all the plans, projects, hair brained schemes, and worrying about the MSM and what they say or don't say about Ron Paul, and get working on getting real votes for Ron Paul. Only a few projects, that have proven results with the least amount of time and money spent, should be used and promoted. Sorry if you don't want to hear this, but all the others need to stop.

The simplest and best way to get more votes for Ron Paul is becoming a Precinct Leader with the National Campaign. http://voters.ronpaul2008... Any money and time spent on all these little projects should be put towards getting real people with real votes into the Precinct Leader system. This system as already proven by primary results, that if used, the votes will come.

If you want Ron Paul votes to count, this is the way to make it happen. Every Ron Paul voter being in this system will give us the means to know where we need more votes, and can help prove those votes. We don't need 100 sites to sign up with to prove vote fraud. It's already done. It's the Precinct Leader portion of the Official Ronpaul2008.com site. http://voters.ronpaul2008...

So far only 10,570 have signed up as Precinct Leader. We need a total of 180,000 to cover every Precinct across the country. Remember each Ron Paul voter you can Identify with this system will be one more Ron Paul voter that can be helping to get more Ron Paul voters. So far, in the primaries and Caucuses that have taken place, Ron Paul has received the votes of well over 100,000 voters. If every one of those voters were in the Precinct Leader system, they would have access to slim jims, signs and support of other Ron Paul voters to help get more Ron Paul voters into the system and it would just keep building on itself.

Do you realize that if just the 100,000 that have voted for Ron Paul already, were to get just 1 new person per month into the Precinct Leader system database, and then they each got 1 more voter each month and so on, that by Sept for the GOP convention we would have 25.6 million votes for Ron Paul, and by Nov we would have 102 million. There are only about 250 million eligible (not registered, just eligible) voters in the whole country.

Just 1 new Ron Paul voter a month. Do you think you could do that?

The time is NOW to merge the Grassroots with the national Campaign and win.

Quit trying to reinvent the wheel and get involved with the Precinct Leader Program.

NOW!!! YES RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! Click link below to sign up now.

I think this call to arms is all good, but realize that not everyone of us needs to be the cook. Some can be bus boys/girls, waiters/waitress, cashier, greeters, janitors, purchasers, assistant cooks, facility maintenance, etc. You get the drift.

So, even if it is desirable to be PL, it is also important to be who you are and maximize your value in your own way.

Since the revolution is inclusive, I imagine there are myriad ways of supporting RP. By all means, for those who can, be PLs, but for those who can't, you will find a way.

Getting educated with the issues is a first stem to many of us and that is valid, too?

clearing up confusion would be great

after reading these posts i see we are not even all on the same page. From what i understood, i am supposed to get the phone numbers after i get all the canvasing done - the instructions were confusing to me. It said do not contact people until the literature is out. But that is no longer practical here.

At any rate, i think i am going to contact the campaign site and look for Plan B - we are supposed to get a warm-up here by Saturday at least. If we can do this even after the primary, that is something...

Ron Paul 2008

Clearing confusion (I hope)

To break it down into a quick and dirty list here's what I did in my county.

1. Wrote a speech the night before, (which I will post in these comments when I get home from work tonight). 2-3 minutes. Mine clocked in at 2:30.

2. Day of voting, called Independents in my precinct(s) from a list I'd gotten from a Meetup member but you can get the precinct lists from the campaign listing your voters. I figured I's would be more likely to go vote for Ron, and you can register Republican the day-of here. Your state info is on the campaign site for registration ect.

3. Parked in a high traffic area (after consulting with local police that it was OK because I don't know all the laws regarding this), propped up signs on/around my car and waved at everyone driving by. Gave people who stopped buttons, yard signs, pamphlets, whatever they wanted. Told them where to go vote ect if you have that information.. otherwise at least give them the web address(es) they will need to look it up themselves.

4. Drove to the caucus at the last minute, registered and brought in about 5 or 6 Ron Paul signs. Propped them up in the sign-in area of the entrance, and in the auditorium where everyone gathered before breaking off into the 5 different precincts that were there to vote.

5. Gave the speech, then we voted.

6. Witnessed vote count. Documented on the vote count sheet that is on the campaign site for this purpose. Called in the results. I even asked for a recount on one precincts Ron Paul votes.. it must be right!! :)

You have the right idea, the campaign site is a great place to start. Also, getting in touch with your Meetup. The leader or someone else in the group will be able to guide you, or put you in contact with higher ups as far as whats needed. I simply did what I thought was needed to be done, the stuff listed above. It's one days work, I only had to leave work for 1/2 day. Well worth the time/effort. I jumped on the Ron Paul train pretty late really, otherwise I'd done more beforehand as far as calling ect.

At minimum a precinct captain should verify/witness the vote count and call it into RP HQ in your state.
Anything above that is great, I feel the speech is invaluable. Someone has to speak for Dr. Paul and a well tailored speech to the attitudes of your locale is worthwhile. To me, this is a necessity. At least write one and have someone else deliver it. I think you can sway people the night of, we beat McCain by 6 votes in the precincts I presided over and I don't doubt that it made a difference with people on the undecideds.
There are more than you'd assume.

Sign waving and calling potential voters is also great. I personally hate calling and would rather signwave, write speeches or pretty much anything so I admit I avoid doing the phonebank thing. Do what you want to do, and love it!

I'm like you just some guy out here. I'm not sure the campaign knows some of us exist, at least they didn't know about me until I called in the results that night and confirmed that I was their precinct captain. There are some good sheets on the RP campaign site to document the vote count with your state HQ # among other things.

I will post my speech (tailored to a very staunch Republican/conservative clientel..). I used hints/tips from things like Ron Paul's previous speeches in Iowa.
I figure his staff knows what polled high in Iowa for topics (abortion ect) so I used that as a guide for mine as well. I watched his Iowa Straw Poll speech on Youtube (though I did see part of it live back in the summer).

You are completely correct in that I feel the campaign is (or was) failing to properly coordinate precinct captains and what they should do. This in my experience doing it, is invaluable and we can't afford to let this important job slip by.

I felt my contribution as a precinct captain was suitable, but the minimum that you should settle for doing.

Think Local

We don't have to understand delegates and voting systems all over the United States.

We just have to concentrate on our own state and our own county. It's our job to become an expert on the place we live. Delegates, caucuses, voter lists, precinct watching. If just 10% tried to learn these things, a few of us would get to the truth.

In every Ron Paul meetup group, there are a few supporters who are Republican insiders, and they can help us get the right information. We've got to ask. We can volunteer to help at some kind of event, meet some people, and ask how things work.

Local. Local. Local.
Voters. Voters. Voters.
Turnout. Turnout. Turnout.

This is Important!

I believe that part of the reason we did so poorly here in South Carolina was disorganization at the precinct level, something we can all do ourselves!

The state GOP originally told the campaign here that they didn't have any services to organize the SC supporter lists by address, only to tell them the day before the primary that they offer such a service "free of charge." Problem is, we could have done this ourselves with proper planning! I poll-watched in my precinct, but the supporter list wasn't organized by precinct, and with there being over 100,000 people in the city of Columbia, it was needless to say tasking to identify who was in my precint. I quickly realized, however, that my precinct only had about 8 streets, so I just scanned all the addresses to identify RP supporters. Later that afternoon, I observed that the Richland County website had a program that allowed you to located a supporters' precinct and poll location merely by inserting their address in the program. That was something volunteers could have done themselves ahead of time had they known! Screwy state GOP aside, we could have done better on our own!

"Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."

yes. become a precinct Captain

Be ome a Precinct Captain. Go out and find supporters. If the supporters are not in your precinct give them to a county Coordinator so that the supporter can be entered into the system.

Find a supporter = know the person is a supporter of Ron Paul and get their address and a way to communicate with them. Email and or Phone.

In your precinct or out of your precinct. Become a Precinct Captain.

Any action is better than no action.

If the Supporters you have located are not in your county then turn them over to the State coodinators so they can rout them to the proper coodinator and get that person into the syatem.

Talk to people. Friends and relatives are the easiest.

Speak with people in your precinct and announce yourself as their neighbor- that wil bust you through the "It is a solicitor, I must go" phenomena.

I"m going to take my

I"m going to take my daughter and she's the cutest year and a half old known to man, so this should be a slam dunk!

no excuses for freedom warriors

The precinct lists have phone numbers, party affiliation and voter interest information on them. start calling and you will find some people who are at least as motivated as you are and some that are even more driven but not aware yet. You will find some young people who are not affected by the cold. Enlist them. Use them as your legs.

It Hits Home...

Ron Paul received 6% in Michigan, 13% in the Lapeer County (2nd in the state), and 21% in my precinct. As precinct captain, I was able to get friends and family members involved canvassing and just hanging slimjims on mailboxes. We went door to door with good response not only at the doors but at the polls. It doesn't take a scientist to figure out that a simple organized effort helps immensely.
The Precinct Captain Program is VITAL to a Ron Paul Victory.

Precinct Leader, how?

i picked up 2 precincts (i'm not braggin, one was really small). i'm close to a retirement community and a blue collar community. so i make sure to tailor my message to those who depend on social security and to those who justifiably fear losing their jobs to overseas markets.

like many supporters i learned about dr ron paul because of his stance on the war, the patriot act, and the constitution. i've found that in MY community, talking about "legalizing the constitution," or eliminating the irs, or restoring personal liberties does not resonate w/ people who FEAR that their social security checks will not arrive in the mail or w/ people who fear that their jobs are disappearing.

i learned early on to talk to the precincts issues and not to try to make my issue their issue.

"let's strengthen the economy. let's bring jobs back to the united states by ending NAFTA. let's stop the looting of social security."

Iowa precinct leader here

... you can't have any more influence than to be a precinct captain. I had 5 precincts here in Iowa and we took 3rd in the county. I honestly believe it was the speech I wrote, custom tailored to the population I have lived around most of my life that put us ~6 votes ahead of McCain to take that 3rd place.

My plan to get Ron the win here went as follows- called Independents that day to push out final votes if possible, and parked my car near a high traffic area with propped up RP signs waving at every car going by for 2 hours prior to the caucus. Then I drove myself to the caucus and did the speech and rest of the work. I wrote a ~2-3 minute speech the night before to ensure he was properly spoken for, carried in signs to ensure he was represented. Basically it was a ton of Mitt Romney signs brought in like a circus, and me alone carrying in huge Ron Paul signs to combat them. I stayed behind and witnessed the vote count and call-in, and called in the results right after to RP HQ.

INCREDIBLY satisfying and I firmly believe there was no more I could've done, other than jump on board earlier. I wish I would've.

I joined Dr. Ron Paul from another Republican candidates campaign. A lifelong friend, who recently left the Navy after 6 years introduced me to RP more at the Iowa Straw poll. After opening my eyes (actually GWB opened them for me with his actions..) Ron Paul is the only man from either party that I can fully trust. This is not to say I don't have renewed appreciation for Kucinich/Gravel.. they just aren't in line with my idea of monetary policy which I feel is necessary right now.

A lifelong friend, an ROTC graduate from A&M who was sent to train for Afghanistan had his mother vote for Ron at our caucus.. and his sister, a West Point graduate did the same that night on her own accord. I can't tell you how much my heart goes out to our soldiers. It's our duty to fight for them, to do the right thing and bring them home now.

I admit it took some courage, and I had to speak in front of 500 people instead of the ~50-70 I was expecting.. but I need public speaking experience and you need to stand up at some point, at least if you propose to truly believe in anything. I've always been moderately involved in politics but never like this.

I officially joined the Revolution on the Teaparty, but had made up my mind about 2 weeks prior.
For me, standing up strong under much opposition was like stopping the talk about how the British were treating us.. and joining the Revolution. :)

I've just begun to fight and I urge anyone in any upcoming primary to join us!! I'd be happy to send you my speech if you would like to see it, just message me through this forum.
I started the speech with an outline (Biography , record, McCain quote, Reagan quote, short closer) and went from there. I snuck in the McCain quote about Ron being the "most honest man in congress". :)

I'd like to add, if you are not the best public speaker, scared, or not confident about it, the best thing you can do is read it on front of a mirror over and over and over! I did!! My right hand holding the paper was shaking a little, but my left hand holding the mic was strong as can be and my voice was loud and clear for liberty! There are plenty of people who would be willing to speak for Ron Paul, but I feel its an incredibly overlooked part of the precinct captain's job and it's good to take responsibility for a polished speech.

I had the only speech that was interrupted by applause in the middle. No one else got that, and I received the LOUDEST applause after of all the candidates!! Let me tell you, you WILL feel great about yourself after this!! My friend from the Navy that I mentioned earlier used the speech in Iowa City and also recieved the loudest applause of the night in his precinct!

I knew there'd be tons of evangelicals carted in for Huckabee so I tailored it to that crowd (I'm a Methodist so you'd think it would kind of be my crowd too), and other topics I thought would hit home. I knew the Paul People would already be decided. Most people get up there and ramble on a bit about nothing much, no campaign is really focusing strongly on good precinct captains (or at least they weren't here in Iowa) and the speech is very important!
Contact me if you need any help or advice!

Your Iowa caucus speech

I'm new at this blog - how do I contact you to get a copy of the speech?
Writing a speech is definitely a challenge for me. If I can't give it, others in my meetup group could use it as a starting point. Thanks for the post.

SueC

I will post my speech right here when I get home from work tonight.

Edit-
Ok here it is, sorry for the delay. I borrowed bits and pieces from different sources, esp from his congressional profile page for the beginning.. but I was building mine up for a crowd that might not entirely grasp Ron Paul's background. A lot of people only know the name from quips or people calling him crazy. But I thought it was a good idea to not leave out the humanizing factors (family ect), especially here in Iowa before his name really started exploding.

If you live in a more progressive or independent minded area though, as I assume(d) the northeast is. Before they voted for McCain, which in Irish means son of Cain (and Abel). ;) Lowering emphasis on the abortion rhetoric might be helpful. Considering everywhere will have a good quadrant of participants being evangelicals carted in for Huckabee, and few rank-and-file Republicans are pro-choice it might sit just fine.
If I were to edit this today, I would definitely add in something about "Jane Row's" anti-abortion endorsement of Ron Paul.

Those of us who are more independent minded than partyline will probably already be there to vote for RP anyway so I chose to focus on military credibility and abortion. I think it was a good general approach.

My name is xxxx xxxx and I stand here in support of Ron Paul for President. I support Dr. Paul because he has the strongest record for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.
Ron Paul graduated from Gettysburg College and the Duke University School of Medicine, before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960s. As an OBGYN, Dr. Paul has delivered more than 4,000 babies. Ron Paul has been married to his wife Carol for 50 years, with whom he has 5 children and 17 grandchildren.

His 20 year congressional record stands tall. Never voted for an unbalanced budget, never voted for a congressional payraise, never accepted a corporate donation, never voted to raise taxes, he refuses his own congressional pension. As a doctor, he never accepted payments from Medicare or Medicaid, but still treated everyone. Dr. Paul’s stance on abortion is clear: you cannot defend liberty if you cannot defend life. He fully believes that Roe vs Wade must be overturned.

Pat Buchanan stated that there is no one who has fought harder for liberty than Ron Paul, that he has the greatest record in the history of congress on cutting spending.

While other candidates talk about Ronald Reagan, Ron Paul was an early supporter of his Presidential candidacy in 1976. Ronald Reagan said of Dr. Paul that:
“Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country”

Ron Paul has more donations from active servicemen and women than any other Republican candidate. Our brave soldiers understand that our foreign policy is in shambles.
Even John McCain called him the most honest man in Congress.

If you are like me and dismayed at what’s going on around us from immigration, terrorism and deficit spending, Ron Paul offers us a new way with his lifetime of experience, conviction and integrity that we so desperately need. Please join us tonight in the Ron Paul Revolution. Thank you.

This is the most effective GOTV

I havent been a precinct leader for long, but already I can tell this is one of the most effective GOTV tools in our arsenal. The walking list alone is so useful because it shows the caller's interests and how active they are. Not to mention it's fun!!

We were really good at

We were really good at publicizing the money bombs of the 5th and the 16th. The next thing we need to do is publicize becoming a precinct leader wherever and whenever we can. Call fellow Ron Paul supporters, post it everywhere you can, send letters in the mail and in E-mail. If you are one of the supporters who goes to rallies or waves signs for Ron Paul let everyone around you know that they should be signed up as a precinct leader. Also i find it very motivating to say that they when they would look back at their efforts they would feel like they did the best they could if they signed up as a precinct leader.

EDIT: Also, tell everyone in your meetup groups about becoming a PL and persuade them to do so. We are getting more and more every day (I think about 1000 every day). We're currently at 11,299 PLs. Up from less than 9000 on the 21st.

I'm embarrassed to do so,

... but I must plead ignorance here as I've heard lots of conflicting information from various sources. Is there still a need for people to become precinct leaders in states that have already held primaries, or is this strictly a position to help get out the vote?

Thank you!

Need people everywhere....

I had this hollow feeling in my gut when I rang my first doorbell.....after my fifth door, it was actually quite pleasant to get to know my neighbors, fellow middle school parents, etc... not hard at all - wish it would have been less cold, but going out in the snow here in Alabama counted for something I guess.....

After Primaries

On January 23rd, 2008 sharpsteve2003 says:

What ever the outcome with the nuts running the GOP, Build on this for whatever direction Ron Paul may need to go in. All this can do is build more support for Ron Paul till NOV. Read the post again about the numbers this can create if we do this right. The more people who wake up to Ron Paul and his message the better.

I see this as something that we can build on after the primaries in our areas also. This didn't seem to get going big till just a week before the Michigan primary, so I'm still going to keep going over it till every person that I can find in the Precinct has been contacted if possible. This can become so valuable beyond the primary. The list are not perfect. Lots of homes in mine are not even on the list. My lists, I was told, has every registered voter. Some of the info is not correct but they are updating and getting better info all the time. That part of what we are doing. Many Ron Paul supporters were not registered voters before Ron Paul. Let's not limit this to the Idea that it's just Republicans or even registered voters. Concentrate on whats on the lists at first but also try and make sure every Ron Paul voter you know anywhere in the country is added to this list. right now you can only add voters in your precinct but I've asked they add a way to change that. But locally you can have your county or state coordinator add info for those not in your precinct. My dad and I were not even on the list to begin with. WE ARE NOW! :-)

You will hate me - but i want options - not just 1 idea, b-cuz

i signed up to be a PL but for those of you preaching, please leave some other options. I had to take disability when i hurt my back so bad i could not get out of bed. I have permanent damage and chronic pain. It is made much worse by prolonged walking, esp. if i am carrying excess stuff (like campaign things). My neck is so bad - i cannot walk enuf hours to really be a good PL. In addition, the weather here has been thirty below zero with wind chill and my arthritis makes me crippled in that temperature. One older woman took her glove off to pump gas and got frostbite, requiring an ER visit. Old people with poor circulation are NOT going to be as effective as PL leaders in some areas, IMO. Best left to the 20 somethings who are HEALTHY. I am way behind in my PL walk. There were too few in my area for me to turn it down, so i said yes - out of guilt, like the guilt i see here. But actually, i know i am not going to be that effective. In the long run, i may have made a big mistake doing this, for combined reasons. At this time, i have NO CAR - and need money to fix it. Another casualty of the extreme cold. So - i am currently a failure in my efforts. I am not trying to whine, rather i want to make a point - i think you need to look outside yourself and your own abilities to understand all of humanity and how effective the next person may or may not be doing what YOU think is the perfect choice.

There are other reasons too. Some people live in scary neighborhoods and feel they may get mugged or shot - in fact, i blew off my own precinct because it would have been too dangerous for me. I am old and female and not very fast. IF my only option was my own precinct (heck maybe i broke a rule) then forget it - there is NO WAY - no way i would do my own precinct. So - if a person is just not going to be able to overcome working in the "core" = then shouldn't there be some ALTERNATIVE for that person? In fact, that is one of my arguments all along. I have said all along, "Please give me something to do that does NOT involve nine hours of walking, because i am incapable of that"

Finally, some people are so socially stunted, they find it impossible to reach out to others. They may suffer from anxiety attacks, and so on. I myself went thru a stint of bad anxiety attacks. This group will sign up and then not do it - out of their extreme fear.

So, you cannot just bully people into compliance, you know. Go ahead and answer with "those are just excuses" if you want. But i am being realistic.

In my humble opinion, i hope there will always be something worthwhile for us LOSERS to do. Sounds like that is not the case though.

NOTE: TO EXPLAIN logistics. When it is dangerously cold, you may get one day in two weeks that is safe to walk outside. That means you have to work several hours at once - and for me that is not practical. So that is why i am not going to be very effective, in a Northern state during the coldest month. I wish it would have started months ago, but i just got asked.

PS COLD

I live in Michigan and trust me I'm not going out in this weather much. LOL

This is how I do it in Ohio BRRRRR!!!!!

I dress like my mother taught me to dress, I do one street at a time, come in from the cold, and then, repeat the process! No big deal really, do it wisely.

Oh right

better to be warm than free......
?

Were you kidding?

Some Other Options

Yes, it sounds like you made a mistake taking on the responsibility of precinct leader. But, there are other things you can do:

Contact your county/state leader and ask for a phone list of your precinct. There are scripts on the campaign website you can use to survey voters in your area and help identify RP voters. If you need ideas, track down your county person, explain your limitations, and let them put you to work.

Or, you could:

Go to the mall. Wear a Ron Paul shirt/button/hat. Take some literature with you and talk to everyone you meet. Leave brochures in the johns and on benches for people to find.

Ditto a bookstore.

Ditto a bus stop. (wherever people are)

Ditto a bar or restaurant (truckstops are great!).

At this late date, it's all about making contact with voters! Figure out how you can best do it. Pick the how and where and when, but you should be doing something now.

Good luck!

Thats where working with other precinct leaders and getting the meet-ups involved is Important. maybe you could work with someone to do the phone calls for them if they will walk yours. You could prep Lit for distribution. You could help in many ways. I know what your talking about because I'm dealing with many of the same kind of issue's. Now maybe not to the same degree, (I'm on SSDI for AIDS 20 yrs) but we all have our own things that can change how we go about getting things done. I'm sure you'll find a way to help out the best you can. Thats all that is asked, to do what you can. Only you know what that is.

Precinct Leader??????

Yes!
Look, I am 70 years old, am on a fixed income and am not so good health-wise, but I signed up, have printed out all the information and will start canvasing my precinct tomorrow morning. I've got about 843 voters to contact before our primary on March 4th and I will do it!
Now, what is YOUR excuse for NOT doing it???

Great job

Thanks from a fellow precinct leader

???

Just what does a precinct leader do? I would like a detailed account of the duties for one. I wanted to be a delegate but was told many different things by the state Republican Party & the RP campaign headquarters. They were HUGELY different when it came to describing my duties. The Nevada Republican Party made it sound like I had to canvass, campaign for people to VOTE FOR ME (as a RP precinct rep.), & make speeches at conventions. The RP campaign headquarters said I just had to show up & sign my name w/ out having to do the other stuff. Which one was right???
I will GLADLY become a RP precinct leader, but only if I know what I'm getting into first.

Precinct Leader tasks

Basically it's canvassing for Ron Paul in your voting precinct.
Once you sign up you will have access to information to help you do this. You will have a list of registered voters in you precinct and you decide how best to get them Info about Ron Paul. Find out if they support Ron Paul and report back the info you collect to HQ thru the site.

Depending where you live and how you decide to do it is kinda up to you. But your not on your own, because you also have access to other precinct leaders in your county that you can work with and contact info for State coordinator. If you belong to a meet up get, them involved. They should be already. You are trying to identify Ron Paul voters and the more you find the more help you might have.

If your precinct does not have a leader, then whatever you can do is better than nothing being done at all. The site is improving each day to be user friendly and new features are being added. Sign up check it out. The worst you can do is make sure your in the database in your precinct as a Ron Paul voter. I was not on Mine so I was the first person whose info I added. Then I added My Dad and a couple next door. Without doing anything else I had just put 4 new Ron Paul supporters into the system. That took about 5 minutes after looking over the directions.
If you decide you can't do it for what ever reason you can always Let them know you can't do it, but at least you'll be in as a Ron Paul voter!

Only in the campagn

You are talking about 2 different things.

I am the Precinct Chair in my area, this is an elected position in the Republican party. There was not one when I applied and I ran unopposed, so I was appointed to the position and sworn in last week.

I am also a Precinct Captain in the Ron Paul campaign. This is only for the RP campaign and has nothing to do with the Republican party.

To become a precinct captain, go to the RonPaul2008.com web site and sign up, all the information is there you will need.

Your state is done, unless the local RP HQ has something you can do, find somewhere to make phone calls, go to a state [like Texas] and canvas. We will be looking for people too help canvas here soon, like right now. If you can get here, I can get you in touch with someone who will help you find a place to stay.

Click on the link

Click on the link above. It provides all of the training information. It will give you a list of all of the Republicans in your precinct with their addresses. The goal is to get Ron Paul information to each one of those on the list. They give you details on how to do that. Our meet up group has put together packets of info and I have been dropping them off at the houses. The goal is to get it to them before February 5.
Go for it!

before Feb 5th

WE ARE NOW! :-)

This is the most important

thing you can do to get Ron Paul elected. Because the media ignores him people don't know who he is. How can they vote for someone they have never heard of. It is your job to acquaint them with the man and his issues. The best way is ordering in bulk DVDs from ronpaulrevere, ordering plastic bags from uline.com and some slim jims. Make a packet for each house in your precinct and get helpers to deliver them to each house. You don't have time to talk to everybody. Let the DVDs and literature do the talking.
DO IT! Time is short and this is the only way they will know about him in the privacy of their living room.
