Louisiana Caucus-- IT IS NOT FINAL!
Contrary to popular belief or even what the Louisiana GOP might have issued today in their press release - the tally for delegates for Louisiana is not over or even close to being counted - it will be a few more days before that is done.
There is no First, Second or Third place - yet!
Here is what the campaign told me. The Louisiana GOP had an
old voter registrations lists from October at the caucuses- however the final time to register was Nov. 30. So all the Ron Paul supporters that registered after October were not on the lists when they went to vote at the caucuses. Result: Over 800 Ron Paul delegates are now Provisional delegates (this is not the same as alternate). These delegates can be primary or alternate delegates they are just not counted yet.
Provisional means that they will not be counted as delegates until
those that voted are proven to be registered Republicans from the correct voter list (the Nov. 30 version) It will take a few days to go back through and make sure those that voted were registered by Nov 30th and then those votes will have to be matched up to the delegates that they voted for (about 800 for Ron Paul)
Look out -- Ron Paul could and probably will take first or be very close to taking first.

Wow, what a complicated process
I would sure like to see the American political process cleaned up, almost as much as I'd like to see the Federal Reserve busted. This system of caucuses and primaries is antique and outdated big time! You probably wouldn't want to make a campaign issue out of it, because every State is darn proud of "their' selection process. But, if Ron Paul ever sits in the Oval Office, I'd bet he would be interested in reforming the election process.

These guys seem like they are delaying on purpose
If this is true, how can a political party be so incompetent that they came to the caucuses with old voter registation lists? They had weeks to prepare for this! I wouldn't put it past these guys to have done this on purpose so as to delay the results; therefore, Dr. Paul wouldn't have a win to boast about going in to Thursday night's debate. By the time ths is over, the media will be talking about Florida, thus denying Ron Paul...... well, you know the rest.

Makes perfectly sense and explains the confusion some of us have experienced. One can assume most or even all of the 800 "new" Republicans voted for Ron Paul (new voters, previous Republicans that re-registered, Independents and Democrats). Gives us hope. Eevn a good second ending will be well received, but win the ideal of course. Good in any case that we beat Romney. Thank you very much again: we owe you a lot for the info!

That you will be counted "provided" that you prove your status.
It is not Ron Paul's supporters fault that the LAGOP used the old list of registered Republicans.
More than likely a dirty trick by the LAGOP to screw with the process since they knew Ron Paul had all the delegates and a full slate - but lets not email them or do anything nasty towards them while they are verifying those that registered Republican - if you know what I mean

I got an e-mail earlier from the meet-up group that three of the elected delegates from the other camp are counting the provisional votes. This state is ate up with dumb-ass and unbelievably corrupt. I just wateched the local news and the headline news is Bingo machines. I knew it would be screwy, but give me a break!

How is it proven
Well you can prove because when you register, you fill out a card. All they do is look at the date on the card. Then you are counted.
One other thing I was told, is that there were many Ron Paul people that paid the fee to become a delegate way before Oct and were not on the roll sheets either - they also will have to be counted.
I was told by the campaign and was assured we will get lots and lots of delegates out of Louisiana

Roll sheets mean the official Registered Republican list.
Only Registered Republicans could vote or be a delegate and they had to register by Nov 30th, the problem with the roll sheets is that they were from Oct! and even people that registered and paid before August were left off. It is a total mess.
Provisional Delegate means..............
Provisional Delegate means..............that they will become a real delegate as long as those that voted for them are proven to be registered as a Republican by Nov 30.
Doesn't add up
There were 7 districts, with each district sending 15 delegates....that's 105 total going to the state convention....how do the 800 provisional delegates fit in?

No No No..........Thats the final count, but many more registered to be delegates and then some just voted and were not on the slate.
Not every Ron Paul nominee on the slate could win a delegate spot - lets say he got 6 of the 15, someone else received 5, and 3 and 1
So, many on the slate just don't win, but you still get a most of the delegates. Others then become alternates.

So there are about 800 or so provisional delegates that are not listed at all in the provisional results (pdf) put out at www.lagop.com ? Once they are certified, then they (and their votes) will be listed were they belong and we may end up winning some more delegates.....plus the 500 or so provisional voters out there....
