"Prayer and Fasting Earthquake"

To My Fellow "Revolution" Patriots
It is interesting to note that those we call the “Founding Fathers” were well read, intelligent, wise and good men. They were men of means and wealth. Yet, they were also humble enough to be men of faith and prayer. Furthermore, they attributed their success to the Almighty. Surely we are not of greater wisdom or intelligence than they, for they with God's blessing, gave us this nation and its Constitution. “One” example of their faith and prayers was given during the Constitutional Convention. Here, Benjamin Franklin at 81 years old, made his famous plea for prayer as follows:
"In the beginning of the contest with Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for divine protection. Our prayers, sir, were heard; and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending Providence in our favor. To that kind Providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need [His] assistance? I have lived, sir, a long time; and the longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. ...." For the rest of his speech go to:

Let us create a “Prayer and Fasting Earthquake” for Super Tuesday as well as Florida and every election forthcoming.
Those that are able could fast, along with their prayers, for at least the entire day (24 hours) before the election at hand. For those who feel to fast more than one day, then God bless you.
We could also take the money we save from the meals we would have eaten and donate it to the “Revolution”.
For those who do not understand the power of prayer and fasting because of lack of experience, it is difficult to explain. It would be like trying to explain how it feels to be shocked by electricity to someone who has not felt it. It is one of those things you have to experience to comprehend it. However, those of us who practice it and have personally experienced it, know of its power, especially when combined with prayer. Jesus Christ and his disciples used this principle, and so have many others, including Mahatma Gandhi.
Prayer when combined with fasting is more powerful than prayer alone. I invite all of you, who may feel so impressed, to join with me and others here and abroad to call upon the Hand of Providence to bestow upon this great Revolution, His blessing.
Let us cast out the "devils", who are against us and the cause of liberty, through fasting and prayer (St.Mark 9:29), and through our continued efforts in every other way.
May He open the hearts and minds of others, who are not with us in this quest to restore the Constitution, to join us in it. Moreover, may we be instruments in His Hands to help bring many more into the Revolution.
May He stretch forth His Hand to bless, strengthen and protect Congressman Ron Paul, who goes forth as David to battle Goliath. May the Almighty strengthen and unify us in this great cause that we may stay the course and triumph over our enemies.
The odds were against our “Founding Fathers”, and so they are against us. However, if we call upon the Almighty even as they did, and "cultivate the cause of Liberty” by continuing to "put our hand to the plow", then we too can triumph over our enemies. May He bless us to this end I pray.

I get a daily email from a church and the reading for today is:
The Reading is from Matthew 9:14-17
At that time, the disciples of John came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guest mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast. And no one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made. Neither is new wine put into old wineskins; if it is, the skins burst, and the wine is spilled, and the skins are destroyed; but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved."

If you are making political decisions based solely on television sources, you are not getting the whole picture. In our busy culture, there seems to be little time for looking deeper into such things. However, the choosing of our nation’s leader is no small event, and we should give it our attention. My husband and I and many of our Christian friends have looked intently and found that Congressman Ron Paul is our clear choice for President. Please consider the following:

2) 20-year record in Congress upholding the Constitution. He is a man of principle and full of integrity. “He who is faithful in little will also be faithful in much.”

Norma McCorvey (“Jane Roe”), now a pro-life activist, recently endorsed Dr. Paul. Finally, he was a doctor who delivered over 4,000 babies! 4) Family man and American: on Feb.1st Mr. and Mrs. Paul will celebrate 51 years of marriage. They have 5 wonderful children and many grandchildren. Dr. Paul has been working since he was 5 years old and has never let up. He actively served in the U.S. Air Force for 5 years. (Wikipedia)

6) Strong Military Defense – A common sense foreign policy based on the Constitution: no nation building, no entangling alliances, no illegal wars. Return to the “Just War Theory”. 7) Only Presidential candidate not connected to the Council on Foreign Relations. Every Christian should know what the goals of the CFR are; basically, they want to establish a one-world government. Richard Haass is the President of the CFR. Which of the candidates do you think he advises on Foreign Policy?
The government cannot legislate righteousness or enforce morality. As Christians, we are well-served by Freedom to do the work our Lord commissioned to us. Our hope is that you will take the time to get fully informed before the vote on Feb. 5th. You really need to answer the question posed about CFR
policy advisor ....working for Mike Huckabee. Most will not take the time to go look the answer up, and even worse you don't want them to get confused and think that he is working for Dr. Paul.

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, so there's a limit to what I can do to help the campaign, so you can definitely count me in for this.
I have no religion, but I do have faith in a higher power and I firmly believe in the power of concerted will and belief. Prayer is an excellent way of focussing this and I believe that fasting is a powerful means of enhancing this concerted spiritual energy. Great, positive idea.

Our church is beginning a 21 day fast......Daniels Fast......no chemicals of any sort, including the water with chorine.
Beans, vegetables fruits & water...
No caffein, no carbination of any sort, etc.

What is sin? Sin is lawlessness (trying to live apart from God's law.)

If you are a "new covenant Christian", you will have been empowered to live out God's law:

fyi - the Bible Sabbath day is from Friday at sunset until Saturday at sunset - it is not Sunday.
Fasting and Prayer
Thanks for your thoughts and scripural quotes. I love to read the Holy Scriptures. Old Testament prophets are among my favorite subjects. I like to apply the scriptures to myself and let the Holy Spirit direct that application. In this case of fasting and prayer I assume that each one involved can make his or her own determination on the matter. However, point taken and thanks for your concern for all of us.

Safety Tips
If you are going to fast, don't forget to drink some water. If you are fasting for more than 1 day, water and 1 glass of 100% fruit juice and 1 glass of V8 per day. You don't want to make yourself ill right before you need to go out and vote. :-)

Thanks to all of you for your willingness to join together in this "PrayerAndFastingEarthquake". If enough of us participate it surely could cause an earthquake on Super Tuesday. Prayer and fasting are great spiritual weapons or tools, as one of you stated, that we can and should use in conquering the enemies of "liberty" and "freedom". what a wonderful campaign!
Some people fast as a means of support, some donate, some canvas, some go to RP drink-ups and some do all of these things. Its so wonderful that everybody can support this campaign in his or her own way and yet we still remain united! This to me is almost better themn Paul's financial policy.

I am not a go to church religious person at all but I do definitely believe in the power of prayer. "Know the truth and it shall set you free" [even if the truth isn't so pretty] , and "Ask and it will be given". If our Founding Fathers were not to proud to pray and it worked for them it will work for us as well. I sometimes wonder if we are not facing even more challenges then they had. One thing that is very clear is that at this moment we are at a very critical turning point in history to restore what they fought for.

Thanks to all of you for supporting this great movement. It is encouraging when we combine forces with faith and prayers for the purpose of moving mountains. I know God's Hand was in the founding of this great "Land of Liberty", even as the Founding Fathers have so stated. I expect if we are willing to call upon and serve Him, then He will bless us accordingly. The task ahead is great and the sacrifices to accomplish it may be greater. However, together with each other and the Hand of Providence guiding and blessing us, all things are possible. I know you will continue to spread the word. Thanks for all you are doing.
If fasting is a problem for some, your prayers are surely welcome. Fasting by the "spirit of the law" surely is accepted by the Lord as well as by the "letter of the law".
Also, to Rob who says he is a non-believer, thank you for your "good wishes" and faith in us believers. Thanks to you for all you do in this cause of "Liberty".

Although I'm not one of "the faithful" so to speak, I know that this campaign is about freedom - so if you believe that fasting and prayer will help get Dr. Paul elected, I'd like to extend my best wishes to you and let you know that I respect what you are doing. I think it's seriously amazing that the ideas of one man can bring together so many different people with different ideas.
Tolerance, understanding, and personal freedom have been the bonds that have held this country together for over 200 years now, and hopefully those ideas will propel us to victory as well.

I can't do a total fast either, but I will be denying myself most of my favorite treats, and avoiding most media until the primaries are over. For that day, I may just skip checking e-mail and deny myself some other item. (that I usually allow). I really like your tagline-very appropriate!
