POLITICO DEBATE: We have #1 under most popular. Keep voting to keep it there
VOTE TO KEEP IT THERE. Here is why it is So important.
* RP is the only republican against the war.
* RP realizes he needs make America understand the connection between the war and the economy. HE SAID THIS IN THE FLORIDA DEBATE - WE CANNOT LOOK AT THE ECONOMY WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE WAR
* The Politico debate allows us to post questions and vote for them.

Q. Can you explain exactly what your definition of winning the war on terror (not limited to Iraq) is, when you think we will 'win', what you think it will cost to 'win', and whether you feel the cost today and in the future, is and will continue to be, major drain on the economy?
Moderator - please note this is solely intended to be a question about the candidates views on the impact of the war on terror on our economy (and is not meant to be a foreign policy or Iraq question).
*****************************************************************************
.
No other candidate can answer this question successfully given their positions on the war.
1.) The war on terror has no end state. It is a perpetual war. It cannot be won militarily because the more of them we kill, the more spring up, multiplied several times over. History proves that every war against a terrorist network has played out this way.
2.) To admit the war is perpetual is political suicide - they will not admit it. They will say - it will take as long as it will take. People will realize theres no end in sight for this. RP will make that clear when he answers the question.
3.) The key point of the question is the wars financial impact on our economy. No candidate except RP can answer this question without stepping over themselves. If they say the war is not a drain on the economy - the MSM will kill them. If they say it is, they are done.
If we keep this question at #1, and it gets asked, I believe it can make a lot of new fiscally conservative republicans and independents vote for RP.
A LOT of thought went into the question. It is specifically designed to (a) touch two hot button issues - the economy and the war, (b) not be an overtly blatant RP questions (even though we might see it that way) and (c) ensure that candidates who didnt answer the question are exposed.
Please help spread the word to vote for this question. Keep the vote legit so we can hold our heads high and say that thousands of Americans want to know the answer to the question.

First I think we need to
First I think we need to avoid any questions that make blanket statements, as there are many 'Ron Paul is great, why aren't you like him?"
The questions we should push to the top, should not appear to support Ron Paul, but instead make candidates look foolish if they resort to their Romney"I'm a businessman and know about jobs." or Juliannie"taxes are bad".
I voted for the question above, but I also like really simple questions, like:
What caused the housing bubble? What can be done to prevent it in the future?
Note that only Ron Paul can answer this question well, and the rest will look like bumbling fools.
Other ideas:
Does our growing national debt harm our economy?
As a nation of limited resources, shouldn't a cost to benefit analysis of the Iraq war been before going?
Is al qaeda using economic warfare against us, and is the dollar dropping evidence of them winning?
While our military tries to minimize collateral damage from our efforts in Iraq, how can we win the hearts and minds of those Iraqis whose family members were killed as the results of our actions.
Was al qaeda pleased, angered, or indifferent when we invaded Iraq?
Does Iran have the right to use peaceful nuclear energy?
excellent ideas
I think you are on to something about making the questions simpler.
The advantage is that its easier to expose the candidate - but we have to be sure they will stumble otherwise the question becomes a dud.
Can you startup a thread for 2 questions so we can debate and test them there? The idea is for people to try and answer like the candidates would. This will allow you to fine tune the questions before posting.
Im staring up a master thread will all questions we want to vote for and will list your question on it when you are ready.
We should get a question on
We should get a question on the top doubting the reality of the moon landing too just to stick it to those NASA guys. Who do they think they are, conspiring to manipulate question polls?
I voted for it earlier, but I like my questions better.
My questions are shorter and allow Ron to hit a grand slam.
"What is a dollar?" and "How do we repay 4 eggs on a 3 egg loan - when the banks own all the chickens?"
We should follow NASA's
We should follow NASA's strategy and ask multiple variations on the same theme. Since you can vote on as many questions as you like, the votes won't get watered down. The more questions up there the more chance someone will see one and randomly click. We should have the top 5 questions.

vote for this one wow
Question on: Taxes
Name the law in the FEDERAL US CODE that requires all US citizens to pay the un-apportioned federal income tax.
Wow. This would be awesome to get asked. I voted for this one.
not really
most will dodge... and say "the US tax code is thousands of pages, so while I don't know the exact code off the top of my head, I promise to simplify the tax code....blah blah blah"
go to topics and look for
go to topics and look for economy, and pick and vote questions about taxes, fed reserve and funding the war. i think ron paul is the best for this questions. everybody give economic topic most votes.
i like this one we should all vote for this one too
under 'republicans'
right now #20

gold standard point to think about
The oath of office states that the President will preserve protect and defend the constitution.
All Presidents, Congressmen and women, and senators could be impeached for violation of this one Constitutional LAW.
ived seen this documentary
ived seen this documentary that fed reserved since they have most of the gold in the world they can use it to intentionally start depression by simply holding it. if the government can take it back from them it would be good idea, since US has lots of silver its good to use it. or best thing is to get the power of printing money back to government not private institutions.
my nephew asks a favor
Someone go post this question and vote it up.
Why is the gold standard bad?
Its a great question
but IMHO very easy to weasel out of. They will simply say that its not practical anymore and that most countries have moved away from it. It will all go above the audiences head.
If your Nephew is interested in the gold standard and the fed, I suggest watching the documentary posted here. http://www.dailypaul.com/...
I learned a lot from there.
i think because federal
i think because federal reserve or central banks has most of the gold in the world. if they decide to hold it will be left with nothing, then next big induce depression. silver would be perfect because US has lots of silver. if im not mistaken.
when evaluating these questions for the debate
we must take ourselves out of our shoes and look at the question and answer from the general public's perspective.
Most people dont even know there every was a gold standard - and couldnt care less.
To maximize the impact of the question - the audience must relate to it, the candidate should not be able to weasel out of it and RP should be the beneficiary of the question.
I do not believe the gold standard questions meet this criteria IMHO.
good point. we should
good point. we should somehow get a fed reserve question in. this got me into ron paul, and my friends too. this the matrix pill that i took( remember from the matrix movie) this will connect the dots about why and how all the wars ever occurred from napoleon to present, all the depressions, all the assassinations. sorry got carried away. yeah pls make a question that average viewers would understand and have them start thinking.
heres the new thread to debate the fed question

can somebody submit question
can somebody submit question about "how come the government cant print its own money instead of a private institution such as federal reserve? i submitted 1, can somebody ask question about this?
I actually like the fed reserve question a lot
I was thinking something along the lines of
For all candidates.
Do you believe the federal reserve is a government institution or a private bank and if you believe it is a private bank do you know who owns it and do you feel a private bank should have the power to control money supply in the US with no government oversight.
The question is designed to
1.) Hearing every candidate say it is a private bank will educate people that the fed is a private bank. I was stunned when I learned this 2 months ago. Everyone I mention this to is stunned as well.
2.) Theres no way they can answer the question on who owns the bank - they dont have that information - not even RP has that info.
3.) I dont see how they can not agree that the govt has to either have oversight or the fed shouldnt exist in the first place.
4.) Theres no way to weasel out of this question.
This sets it up beautifully for RP - my only hesitation is that this isnt a TOP issue for most people and it also has less of a chance of being asked.
What are your thoughts? Lets debate and refine the question here and if enough people agree and will support the effort, Im for it. Someone else will have to post the question - we dont want multiple top questions from the same poster (I posted the war+economy question).
place a question and lets
place a question and lets all vote for it.
done

thank you.
thank you zackmario
president andrew jackson put central bank out business during his time. you think we can do same thing on our generation?
this is how part of Daily Paul should be set up. IMHO
to have voting for the best questions, commercials, attack ads,you tube videos, debate coaching,
the best would be voted on and agreed to be considered/used by RP's HQ....
It would provide some inclusion for grassroots, possible increase in morale, and funding.
There is great intellect to be harnessed here........
I agree - its a lot of manual labor to do this the way we did
I hope Michael implements the thumbs up / down soon, or I will need new thumbs :)

I just check out the democratic party questions
And the NASA guys have loaded them too.
We can be sure they will bump their questions in the republican section when they realize they dont have #1. Please vote - being at #1 only helps if we stay there.
How can one question
Be ranked numbers 3 AND 5?
This is a good thread. Very useful!

Please vote for this question for the politico debate. It sets Ron up perfectly.
Do you agree that all American citizens have a right
to keep their biometrics and their personal information (their property they are born with) to themselve (I mean totaly to themselves) without being sanctioned (I mean by anyone or any government)?
Can you vote for more than one question?
.
yep
as many as you like.
Choose wisely. They will not ask a question that is designed more as a statement than a question. They will not ask a question if it is a blatant RP question.
Lastly dont pick something that has an easy political answer.
If you find questions that pass these tests, post them here, and we can all vote them up.
gotta go get some dinner
please vote and bump the thread.
thanks

I just read the top 20 questions
Aside from the NASA ones (which are organizationally biased) its scary how all the other questions are so simple for politicians to weasel out of. We need to get better questions out there. I'll think up some tonight.
Please vote for this question in the meantime
Is this one easy to weasel out of?
An indispensable tenet of Western Civilization and individual liberty is the right to the writ of habeas corpus. While the War on Terror is ostensibly being waged in order to protect our freedoms, it has also resulted in the suspension of this foundation of freedom, even for American citizens. If you are elected President of the United States, would you rescind all executive orders and directives that suspend this integral tenet of freedom?
I like it
Most of them would not even understand the question :)
Lets test the question.
1.) They could say yes - which is very hard for them
2.) They could say no - they will never directly answer the question
3.) They will dance around it - say something along the lines of .. while we will strive to protect our freedoms there will have to be some compromises blah blah. That will show they are not committed to freedom - but they will hide under the we have to keep you safe umbrella
The big question is - does the average voter care even if he/she realizes they will not protect our freedoms - care enough to consider changing their vote.
What do others think?
Maybe I was too subtle :)
The way the question is framed forces the candidate to admit that his statement about fighting for our freedoms is only so much rhetoric, for one cannot protect and defend freedom and justice while denying the citizens of freedom at the same time. It's another variation of the theme that peace comes through peaceful means and violence through violent means, but you can't spread peace through the barrel of a gun.

I'm all in for Dr. Paul. If we don't get him attention and elected we will all look back at this moment and regret we had not done more. This is HISTORY and I want to be a part of the revolution that saved America. Love you all !!!
