THIS IS WHY DR. PAUL HAS NOT SPENT MUCH MONEY IN FLORIDA A MUST READ!
Submitted by SGP on Fri, 01/25/2008 - 02:02
I need to say this so everyone understands how my state of Florida works.
I have seen people very upset here that Dr. Paul has not done a lot of advertising in Florida. Here is why.
1: Florida is a closed primary ie: Only registered republicans can vote in the primary.
2: ONLY THE WINNER of Florida obtains all the delegates in Florida ie: Second place receives NO DELEGATES.
3: This is why Rudy put all his eggs in Florida which he will probably fail unless they fix the election which has been done before never the less.
If we do not Win Florida DO NOT WORRY for the strategy Dr. Paul is untilizing is to obtain delegates for that is the only way we can win the nomination.
This nomination will go all the way to the convention so our goal is to get as many delegates as possible to storm the convention. If you have not filed to become a deligate YOU MUST DO SO NOW TO GIVE US A CHANCE TO WIN.
Here is a statement from the RON PAUL CAMPAIGN ABOUT LA
http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndm...
For the record i believe 100% that Dr. Paul won LA on Tuesday and this will come out soon enough for now the campaign is on top of it and will get all the votes counted SO PAT YOURSELVES ON THE BACK WE WON OUR FOIRST STATE REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE GOP OF LA SAID thus far.

When Huck drops out
All the Iowa delegates become free agents, and all that will be left are pro choice liberals, except Ron Paul.
America is sick, call a doctor! Dr. Ron Paul.
RP's strategy.
Many of us understand that RP has a strategy and he has been at this game for a long time. We not only have to re-educate the masses, we are also having to educate current RP supporters. Many supporters get so distressed because they are not seeing better results in the primaries or not yet "getting our due" with the msm.
There is a method to this madness and Ron Paul is a very shrewed politician himself. We believe in this man enough to support him to the White House, can we not support him 100% in his campaign strategies?!
Stay the course, keep campaigning hard, keep up the donations! OUR Commander-in-Chief IS LEADING the way!
The only way we can lose is to forget that we are winning!
Ron Paul has been fighting
Ron Paul has been fighting Washington for 30 years and he knows the system better than any of us.
You are correct we need to educate the new comers to the election process and how we will win this election.
That is the purpose of most of my posts.
I have said for years that the key to solving problems is education and understanding.
If you can educate people on what the problem is and help them understand how to fix the problem then the problem is no longer a problem once it is fixed.

My question is..
why the LA State Department allows this manipulation by the LAGOP to take place? Not only in LA. These state GOP's should not intervene with the process. This practice must change.

Florida
Yes, I think I read one had to spend 7 m in Florida in order to be competitive. Like Michigan, one should only win, silver and bronze does not count, thus smart to campaign in NV when others were in MI and now in other states (also LA) while the others in Florida. Huckabee does not have any money for a TV advertising and can concentrate only on a selected few states (Georgia, Arkansas...would be fun iif we can beat him in his hoem state: we can beat McCain in his home state).
For Florida, if we can at the very minimum beat Huckabee, it would be wonderful already, and hopefully another one or two candidates. So the grassroots in Florida should organise. For a presidential election Florida would be important and Paul with his appeal also to Independents and soem Democrats should be in a strong position to win against either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or John Edwards. Kucinich has dropped out, so maybe some of his supporters in other states still to be held may vote for Ron Paul (Gravel will also drop out soon, probably, so same in his case). I wonder if one can register for Democrat and Republican at same time? Otherwise it will help us in the States where there is not Republican only. Duncan Hunter's endorsement for Huckabee would not mean much, as his supporters are very small (and they may vote for Paul in any case). We will get most of Fred Thompson's supporters: just make sure of it. He would possibly endorse Paul later, it is possible. He would never endorse Huckabee or Romney or Giuliani and with regard to McCain, he does feel angry as McCain's staff spread rumour that he would leave before Iowa and think he also criticised McCain in SC.

irst LA. I have to say it is
irst LA. I have to say it is a mess. The first problem is that there is no one list that can be found that states the Delegates that ran and who they support. The LA GOP has been less then helpful in explaining the process because they were actively involved in creating the mess. Pro-Family/Pro-Life somehow won when no one knows who they are, who they support or anything about them. The one fact about them, that I learned when I contacted the company that created their web page and handouts is that it was paid for by the LA GOP. The same people counting the votes and sending out press releases claiming that Pro-Family/Pro-Life slate won are the ones that created the slate. We need a full accounting of the slates presented by Candidates on the deadline and what changes were made in the 2 days that the deadline was extended. This is a true example of why so many people have apathy.
As for Florida, that is where I live. I can tell you on the ground Ron Paul has the most support. Where I live, in Miami, the only signs you see are for Ron Paul. We also have a great Meetup here. In Ocala Florida my brother has a Meetup that is running Ron Paul radio ads, put up Billboards all along I-75, he is getting on every radio program he can to support Ron Paul (will be on tomorrow for 1 full hour) and he will representing Ron Paul at University of Florida Debate. We have the support in a fair election to win, but the real question in Florida is, will it be a fair election?
The first problem in Florida is that in the primary election we will be using touch screen computer voting machines that have no paper trail. The second problem is, has Rudy spent all his money to fix the Florida election? I was watching Fox a few nights back and Newt Gingrich said that Rudy already had 40,000 absentee ballot votes in Florida. I checked the rules in Florida and absentee ballots had not been sent out or cast yet. Newt was either misinformed, lied, or leaked the fact that Rudy was going to steal the election with false absentee ballots.
The one truth stands true in all of this. The vote is not fair and its not just being fixed in one place and its not just the GOP but Hillary is pretty good at fixing the dem vote too. Why is it that only Ron Paul and Obama seem to lose votes when entrance polls are compared to "official" votes?
We need to get out and vote and make sure all of our votes are counted.
I voted absentee (for Ron Paul, of course)
Before Christmas. Each FL county sends out absentee ballots at different times, but by now they've all sent them I'm sure.
And in addition to being all-or-nothing, Florida's "all" might really mean "all divided by 2" because we jumped in line from "Super Tuesday" and doing that upset the major parties, so they've threatened to cut FL's delegates in half.

I believe they are trying to prop up mccain as the new poster child but we will see soon enough.

Thanks for the info......
I sometimes forget the "The Strategy" thanks for reminding me.
Ron Paul will not falter, nor will his supporters. I have never seen a
more determined and diverse group work together like this one.

Not surprisingly, the political and media establishment are trying to stop Ron Paul's message from getting out. Just look at what's happening in Louisiana. The Louisiana Republican Party has only posted "unofficial" results from the state's Jan. 22 caucuses on their website. And they are claiming that John McCain won with Ron Paul in second.
But we suspect that when all of the provisional ballots are counted, Ron Paul's showing will be even better. For more information on the "boondoggle in the bayou", read ABC News' coverage here.
There's a ton going on, and as always, more news will be coming. But as you know, we are competing against an entrenched media and political elite. For that reason, it is even more important that we have the war chest necessary to get Dr. Paul's message - our message - out to the rest of our country. The fight has just begun.

I agree Florida would not be a state for Dr. Paul
to spend a much of his money. Let the rest of them spend theirs.
Agreed
Agreed. The thing with Louisiana - every republican who is part of the Louisiana GOP office, needs to be sued and thrown out of office. If the party will not do the admirable and right thing, they should be punished, even if all independents are voted in. This action is what gets people out of the republican party and it will come back to bite them.
