OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASES: PETER SCHIFF & DON LUSKIN named ECONOMIC ADVISORS to the campaign!!!

January 25, 2008 4:44 pm EST

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Newly appointed Ron Paul economic advisor, Peter Schiff, issued the following statement about Dr. Paul’s proposed comprehensive economic revitalization plan:

“We need a plan that stimulates savings and production not more of the reckless borrowing and consumption that got us into this mess in the first place. Ron Paul’s plan is the only one that amounts to a step in the right direction. If you want meaningful change - for the better that is - Ron Paul is the only candidate capable of delivering it. The others merely promise to continue the failed policies that are at the root of our current economic problems.”

Peter Schiff is president of Euro Pacific Capital Inc, and a frequent guest on CNBC, Fox News, and Bloomberg Television. He is often quoted in major financial publications and is the author of the book Crash Proof.

In the past Peter Schiff said the following of Dr. Paul: “Ron Paul is the real deal, a true statesmen and citizen politician in the traditions envisioned by the framers of our Republic.”

Mr. Schiff is available for interviews regarding Congressman Paul’s economic policies.

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Newly appointed Ron Paul economic advisor, Donald L. Luskin, issued the following statement about Dr. Paul’s proposed comprehensive economic revitalization plan:

Donald L. Luskin is Chief Investment Officer for Trend Macrolytics LLC and contributing editor to the National Review Online and SmartMoney.com. Great news, thanks for

Great news, thanks for posting this. :) I knew Peter Schiff was backing RP, but didn't know just how much. :o

WOWOWO!!!!!

What a STELLAR economic team....these are TOP TIER economic advisers.

Way to go President Paul!

Amazing, amazing appointment!

I'm not sure if this person frequents Dailypaul, but one intelligent individual seems to collect only Ron Paul and Peter Schiff videos here:

http://www.youtube.com/us...

I agree with many here who note the commonalities between Schiff and Paul. Both are maligned, dismissed, and marginalized, and both tell the unadulterated truth, whether anyone wants to hear it or not. This is a phenomenal appointment.

I would note also that Peter Schiff and investor Jim Rogers seem to agree on most everything. Once you're familiar with Schiff's viewpoints, check Rogers out:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Definitely like Rogers too...

He made his fortune together with George Soros back in the days, though not sure they'd work together now :-)

Rogers big on agricultural commodities now...no kidding, food isn't going down in price any time soon.

That is great news! - He's a hero of the revolution!

Of course, the irony is, of ALL the candidates, the one who LEAST needs economic advisors is our good doctor!

LOL, so true. What an economic powerhouse team!

The upside is that Dr. Paul has so much to deal with, these guys can put together policy statements and maybe some great one-liners for future debates. Schiff has so much experience appearing on the MSM, he's good in getting a message out clearly and in the brief time they give him.

I'm still hoping for a couple other major advisors like this...say in national security or military to dispel the image the other candidates are trying to stick on RP (soft on terrorism, weak on defense, blah blah). That's a weak point for us with many repubs who agree with the rest of the platform.

All good news, though.

Is it just me?

affirmation: President Paul 2008
I have yet to hear any mention of those that endorse Dr. Paul on MSM or, for that matter, any mention of endorsements in newspapers. If a press release is sent to various television stations, aren't they obligated to report them?

media is not obligated to cover any particular story...

we still have a little freedom left.

However, don't worry in this case as Peter is all over the MSM. I don't know if he will have to give up guest slots because he is working for the Paul campaign, however. That would stem more from equal time regulations than anything else. Schiff is aggressive and will get some air time for sure.

Schiff = good move

Watch this clip of how Cavuto & co. treat Schiff after Schiff explains some very real economic problems. Schiff states that "the worst is yet to come" and Cavuto, Ben Stein and co. laugh at him: This clip is from August 07:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Schiff and Paul are alike in that they both are generally right when it comes to the issues and that they both are treated like outcasts and are ridiculed for exposing the system for what it really is and for speaking the truth.

There are a bunch of clips on Peter's website with various

"experts" trashing him only months before all his predictions come true. I've seen clips where they are literally laughing at him and he was miles ahead.

The black, guy, Charles Payne, made fun last year of Peter's dire predictions for the housing market and himself predicted housing prices would RISE by 10%, LOL. Maybe McCain will hire him.

fantastic!!

What a terrific 1-2 punch! Luskin, and now Schiff!!

I'm so loving this. No wonder the campaign has been telling us good news was on the way!

YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh WOW!!!!! Peter Schiff is THE man!!

You guys will all like this guy, he is the real deal on economics.

Tons of you tube videos of him at:

http://www.youtube.com/pr...

I have been hoping for this for many months.

Peter Schiff

Is one smart cookie. I hope this does not derail his appearences on the msm shows.

Interesting Point

Watching Schiff on FBN a few days ago, I did notice that Schiff injected Paul's name when the topic of presidential economic policy came up. They just kept talking right past him, saying something like "... if you didn't know by now, Peter Schiff is a Ron Paul supporter..."

I think this link is correct:

Sangre!

I am going to check that those vids out when I get home!

Let's get Badnarik, Lawson, Paul, Santoro, and Terbolizard elected to office in '08!

Schiff has a strong background in Austrian economics...

I was expecting that! Good to know.
Check out this article that was written about him on LewRockwell:

"Resistance need not be violent, but the civil disobedience that might be required involves confrontation with the state and invites possible imprisonment." - Ron Paul

Great News but his dad will bring ridicule

I love Peter Schiff. I think that he is brilliant. The problem will be Irwin Schiff, Peter's dad. He's the guy who went to prison for his tax schemes. I agree with Irwin Schiff too but he is mostly presented to many as a charlatan and whacko.

A caller on the Dave Ramsey show yesterday mentioned Peter Schiff's book, Crash Proof, and when Dave Ramsey realized it was Irwin Schiff's son, he immediately dismissed Peter as a nutcase also.

But I guess the truth will win in the end and we'll have the educate the masses as we go.

I don't know who Dave Ramsey is, but you need to dismiss

him for such a display of ignorance. Yeah, Peter Schiff is nuts, LOL. The guy runs a brokerage company that has been smart enough to put its clients into high flying foreign markets and gold, getting us out of the dollar as its dropping..sheesh. His book is in the top 5 financial books per Amazon sales.

Ramsey, whoever that loser is, should be ashamed.

Irwin Schiff should be condecorated!!!

You can start by educating yourself first!

His dad has been defying the IRA for years! They threw him in jail more than once for that. The judge was a corrupt judge and bent over to the lords to make an example of someone breaking the IRS "law". Law, what law??? Where is it??? Has anyone seen it???

That guy has guts! Guts, I say, not nuts! Well, he's gotta have some hard nuts too!!!

"You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more."

Are they really related?

Hmm... had no idea Irwin was/is Peter's father. If true, figures, though. Both are men of common sense. Irwin, now there's one brave man who needs to have his BS criminal record, ground into stone by an IRS witchhunt, expunged from his resume.

In good company, definitely.

Here's to President Ron Paul, soon to be the 44th (technically, 43rd, as yr 2000 was stolen) President of the United States of America, NOT United States Company (hopefully by yr 2012, a US Co., no more, as registered in Puerto Rico and Guam, based in DC, under the auspices of the City of London, as their banking franchise and an empty shell company.)

If people thought Federal Reserve was a fraud, wait until they really learn about how and where "American" principalities are REALLY registered.

PRESIDENT RON PAUL: Jan 20, 2009 - Jan 20, 2017
B E L I E V E

Yes, I've actually talked to Peter about his dad

on his radio show. Peter is not fighting that particular fight, though, especially as he runs a registered brokerage house, so the taxes must be paid. The government really put it to his dad, though, who is in his 70's and not of great health. He's in a federal prison in New Jersey.

I'm not sure what "condecorated" means...

But I've met Irwin. In the flesh. I'd been told "he's insane" by the media. I found him hilariously funny and very personable. And the proper description is "Irwin has BALLS" because he does. During the Cold War, when he was arrested, US citizens (me included) feared the IRS more than we feared the KGB. I still fear them a lot, which is why I don't choose to defy the IRS as he does. I'd like to think we both hate that aspect of our obese government ("big" no-longer suffices!!) with the same passion. And felony conviction or no, I'd certainly trust Irwin Schiff more than I trust the IRS!!
JMR

Guilt by association...but that trick doesn't always work.

I've heard GWB's grandfather helped finance the Nazis. I also read that Schwarzenegger's father was an SS in Austria.

Don Luskin and Peter Schiff

Don Luskin and Peter Schiff working together with Ron Paul?

Sweet!

:-)

w00t!!

this is brilliant news.

Awesome!!
