Ron and Carol's 51st Anniversary would be perfect
Listen People,
If we give 5 million on February 1st, which is Ron and Carol's 51st Wedding Anniversary, the positive media coverage would be an enormous boost to the campaign. It would show that we and Ron and his family are all about family values.

With 2nd place in Nevada, 1st place in Louisiana, 56,000 votes in Michigan and polling 12% in Georgia and 1st in Alaska - WE CAN WIN THIS.
Here is a recent video that will inspire anybody to donate to the cause of FREEDOM, PROSPERITY and PEACE:

Good luck in your fund raising efforts!
Simple Way to Do This
All 100,000 Meetup members need to give $50 to Ron Paul. It's as simple as that. That's how you get 5 million. Sell that used band instrument or books in your attic on ebay...I'm in, anyone else?
Maybe someone could start a website - fiftyforthefifth.com? or everyonepleasegive50buckstoronpaulnowdammit.com?
$17.76 three times before the 5th...
I'm breaking it up into small chunks, with the last $17.76 going in on the 4th. It really is all I can do after "free at last".
Great Job on the First Banner !!!

Right now HQ has thrown down the gauntlet to all of us in an attempt to FOCUS all Ron Paul supporters... HQ has given you a challenge... and so am I.
I just donated $1000 last night... and I challenge all of you to dig deep and do the same-- as much as you can!
Keep bumping this post to keep it at the top... or someone in charge pin it!
Let's give 'em the GOLD!
Thank you, will do.
"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"

Ron Paul - Hope for America
Did you read on the Ron Paul
Did you read on the Ron Paul 2008 website about how hard it is simply to get put on ballots? There have been so many things the campaign has done that I don't think anyone really has a grasp of the magnitude of their undertaking.

Donate what you can
I give $25 last night and I am planning on giving $51 soon and I will be giving more before the fifth. We need the money so we can spread the word. Our numbers are growing and they will continue to grow with each passing day. Like JFK said its not what your country can do for you it's what you can do for your country. It now or never. Do or die.

They Need the Cash for SUPER TUESDAY ADVERTISING
HubrisPatBuchananitis, Look, you are preaching to the choir. The people on this site are the elites. The ones that are really in the know. The ones in power are not elite, just scumlords. They know that things cycle and this is the end of their age. Anywho, it takes a lot of advertising to get through the thick skulls of the prolatariat. They wake up slowly. Most rode the fence all the way through the first American Revolution and then some of them so cowered at the thought of facing Britain they left for Canada. There will always and only be a few of us that clear the way. So, the tactics need to be multi-facted, but there are many who have never heard of RP and Super Tuesday Advertising is key.
Name Calling - Nice
All I'm saying is constantly asking your supporters to donate donate donate and tapping them out for cash is NOT the best way. I've got no problem with donating, I've donated plenty of money myself. I just think we should keep a fair amount of our campaign cash for ourselves to use it as best we see fit. And btw- the best Super Tuesday advertising is sign on the freeways and by roadsides. People care a lot more about things like that as opposed to any official advertisement they are going to hear on the radio or see on TV.
I see your point - We need some of both
OK. The name calling is right from the desk of Fox News. Everyone can now boo me. You have a major point, but I think you and others have balanced it such that inroads are being made from both ends. I believe that the short-term before the election will require a mass media blitz. However, to make disciples to carry this past the election, we need to beat the streets. You should follow your heart on this one. You have donated, which is more than a lot of RP supporters have done. Some have given nothing in time or money. If well all give something, we win handily.
Thanks for the follow up
Thanks for the follow up post! I want to see Paul elected just as badly as anyone. My intention was not to stir discontent only to prose a different point of view. I'm by no means going to stop donating, I'm just curious if giving all we can spare is in the best interest of the campaign. Once again, thank you for replying again, you've helped restore my faith in my fellow Paulites.
Geo. W is helping RP
Use the "rebate checks to donate to the campaign!
some of us can dosome now, but when we recieve those checks, we should forward them to the a MEGA MONEY BOMB!
and show them what we want them to do with our money!
Bring on the heat!!!!
LOVE THE GOLD THEME!!!!!!!
Lets get it done!!!!
$1.5 mil in 11 days.....
should be NO problem for this bunch.......
NO!
It shouldnt be a problem and this thread needs to be bumped to those that see the urgent need.. All others.... pls start a new thread but keep this one pumped and positive!
On the other hand...
$5 MILLION more in 11 days COULD be a problem - even for this bunch (a lot of people are tapped out right now). But at least it's good that the campaign understands that it's better to have a specific fundraising GOAL in mind, instead of just an open-ended total. Who knows? I guess anything's possible. I've been astounded before...
5 million MORE by February 5!
A total of $8.4 million.
We can do it. Dig deep!!
Let's not let him down.
Bumpity bump
bump
Donate NOW!!!
Dig deep!!! We can't let Dr. Paul down!!!
IMHO
The campaign hasn't really done anything impressive with the money they've already been given. It seems to me that people like you and me spend our Ron money a lot more efficiently than the campaign. Just look at the blimp and the amazing grassroots things we've accomplished. I sort of wish I had spent the over $600 dollars I donated to the campaign on things I could use to bolster his name recognition here in California. Just a thought..
Also don't forget
all the work of getting Ron Paul on the ballot and so on. There is a lot we don't see.
1 week, 2 days
You've been a member. Why don't you crawl under a bridge and scare children?
Very constructive. That
Very constructive. That sounds like a response one of Ron's political adversaries would give.
That's not a fair statement
Look at all the offices they're opening up in all the different states. Those don't just happen you know. Look at all the people they're hiring. Check out their website and the precinct leader program they've started. Advertising (even though some of us prefer they'd be a little more honed). Getting economic advisers on board. Travel, lodging, organizing rallies, speeches. All this adds up...
And is accomplishing what???
And is accomplishing what??? That's my point. I didn't say they aren't doing ANYTHING, I'm saying running a conventional campaign isn't working. And it's not...
What was the last campaign you ran??
Dr. Paul knows exactly what he's doing and why.
If you don't want to donate, don't donate. But, stop second guessing what they're doing.
I know that money donated
I know that money donated isn't equating into votes, which is sort of the point. I don't need to have run a campaign to see the logistics aren't working. Grassroots efforts are translating into votes.
And exactly where are you getting these "statistics"?
How is it you think you know what is getting votes??? Do the voters fill out questionaires???? Get a grip and go play somewhere else. You aren't all you think you are and don't impress anyone here!! Go away....
Chill out
I never claimed any statistics other then the results we've seen thus far. Common sense dictates that the only way we can get people to the cause is to do it ourselves. The media and television aren't going to work. If you can't accept any criticism and blindly assume that giving money to the official campaign is the best way to promote Ron Paul then you are no better than any of the other Neocon followers. I never said I think I am anything more than another American voicing an opinion while you are claiming authority to cast me aside. Perhaps it is you who should leave.
Old Stuff
What you are saying has already been said many, many months ago. Since you are new, let me explain that we have hashed this out a long time ago. The campaign says it needs money, then give, give, give, until it hurts. When you max out, give to other avenues for advertising and so forth.
I've been watching and supporting this campaign for over 6 months now. They aren't perfect, but remember there were 11 candidates and now only 5 and soon it will be 4 or even 3. Ron Paul is still in there steady and strong.
And let me tell you something else, though many of us were initially disappointed at his placings in the primaries and caucaus's, if it hadn't been the money and all the HARD WORK, BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS of the GRASSROOTS, he would have been done a long time ago. He probably wouldn't have placed where he did... he'd be like Tancredo, Hunter, Kucinich, Gravel... nowhere. It was US, We the People helping him deliver his message. And in his absence, WE DELIVER THE MESSAGE FOR HIM.
Ron Paul says it isn't his campaign, it's our campaign. He's doing what he can on his end and we are doing what we can on this end.
Giving money to the campaign AND doing our own things to help on the outside are the best ways to promote him. We have to do both. Campaigns are MONSTER MONEY EATERS, even when you are being frugal.
Ron Paul himself said they were trying to figure out how much money the supporters are putting up for their own projects to deliver his message. He said they can't even put a value on it, other than it probably is more than we've already given to his campaign. 25+ mil to him and 100+ mil or more outside of the campaign for posters, slim jims, DVD's, T-shirts, advertising, on and on and on... Who knows?
So give to the Campaign and then do what you can on the outside. That's just the way it is. It's reality.
Let me reiterate
my previous post: "All I'm saying is constantly asking your supporters to donate donate donate and tapping them out for cash is NOT the best way. I've got no problem with donating, I've donated plenty of money myself. I just think we should keep a fair amount of our campaign cash for ourselves to use it as best we see fit."
your words: "if it hadn't been the money and all the HARD WORK, BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS of the GRASSROOTS, he would have been done a long time ago."
My point exactly. Its not JUST money. And for the record, the campaign has never said anything remotely close to 'give till it hurts.' And I doubt that it would.
I'm not totally please with all aspects of the campaign BUT
I'm pleased enough to keep donating. These are exciting times, the message is resonating, and there is a long way to go. I think you will look back a year or so from now and be proud that you donated.
URGENCY! $$$$
